The research objective was to determine of Industrial Internship consisting of planning, organizing, actuating, controling and monitoring.This is a qualitative research by employing a case study method which was conducted at public vocational senior high school (SMK Negeri 5) Makassar from April 2013 to September 2016. Interviews, document review, and direct observation were taken for data collection while the validity of the data was measured by using triangulation of source and technique. For data analysis, the stages of reduction, data display, and conclusion were used. The results show that 1) Planning of Industrial Internship has not been implemented optimally; such as curriculum validation and mapping the business and industrial were not well-conducted by the school; 2) Organizing aspects of industrial internship were less than optimal implemented, such as arranging of Industrial Internship committee was not equipped clearly with the structuring of tasks, job descriptions and distribution of authority. In addition, appointment of school instructur is simply to accommodate the interests of educators with the principle of equity not competency; 3) In actuating aspect, learning by doing and learning by experience were not optimal since the location of industrial internship did not meet the school’s need; 4) Controlling and monitoring Industrial Internship were not optimal as well since the teachers as instructors did not control the students’ activities continously. To sum up, the industrial internship conducted in vocational high school must obtain serious attention by the school, industry and government as to improve the students’ knowledge and skills. Additionally, the school, industry and government are required to collaborate and synergize optimally for the sake of students’ improvement.

This study aims at investigating the benefits and challenges encountered by the teacher and the students in implementing task-based instruction. This study mainly utilizes a qualitative research design covering the trait of a case study. This study was carried out in one vocational high school in Bandung involving one class from the eleventh grade students. The data were collected through interview and questionnaires. The data from classroom interview and questionnaires were analyzed qualitatively. The result of interview and questionnaires revealed that task-based instruction resulted in some benefits and challenges. It was revealed that task-based instruction contributes to students� speaking skill and enhances students� participation. Apart from those benefits, some challenges were also found in terms of teacher�s competence, availability of time, and mixed ability students. Accordingly, it is recommended that this method is implemented in a long period of time.Keywords: task-based instruction, teaching speaking, benefits of task-based instruction, challenges of task-based instruction

<p><em>This study aims to determine the form of household livelihood strategies found in Kayangan District after the earthquake. This qualitative research uses the case study method by sampling using purposive sampling. The sample used in this study were 60 households. Data collection techniques in this study used triangulation. Triangulation used in this research is by using source triangulation. In addition, other data collection techniques are in the form of observation, </em><em>deep </em><em>interview, and documentation. Analysis of the data used in this study is a qualitative analysis using the Miles and Huberman models. Activities carried out in the analysis are in the form of scoring data, reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing / verification. The results of the study concluded that: Household livelihood strategies used by the community in Kayangan District include intensification and exensification, as well as diversification.</em><em></em></p>

This study aims to analyze neuroscience-based Arabic learning media at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. Implementation to students so they can memorize mufrodat, and practice muhadasah Arabic. The type of research used in this research is qualitative. The research subjects were teachers and students. Determination of research subjects is done by using purposive sampling. Data collection techniques were carried out using interview, observation, and documentation methods. The validity of this research data using triangulation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, namely by data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification data. The results of the study of neuroscience-based Arabic learning media that were applied in the classroom were identifying students with five (mufrodat). In addition, each student memorized five (mufrodat), and practice (muhadasah) with his classmates. directed by the teacher who responds to the student's brain. Learning media, in the form of videos in which it is more directed to the students' brains as the focus of learning Arabic. The Arabic learning video contains mufrodat material that is easy for students to memorize and practice. Facilitate students in memorizing mufrodat namely in maharah qiro'ah, kitabah, istima', and kalam. It means, students can read Arabic mufrodat or quwa'id correctly, students can write Arabic mufrodat or quwa'id with imla', students can listen to mufrodat correctly, and continued students can apply muhadasah fluently.

This research aims to determine the use of humor in Turkish classes in secondary schools. To this end, firstly, the humorous elements in the Turkish textbooks were examined, and then Turkish teachers’ views on these elements and their views and classroom practices regarding the use of humor in their classes were determined. The study was designed according to the case study method, one of the qualitative research methods. The humorous elements in the Turkish textbooks were collected through the document review method, and the views and classroom practices of the Turkish teachers regarding the use of humor were collected through a semi-structured interview form. In this context, interviews were made with 15 Turkish teachers working in public schools. The content analysis method was used to analyze the obtained data. According to the findings, most of the interviewed teachers included humorous elements in their classes through various classroom practices. In addition, it was determined that teachers consider humorous elements important because such elements increase students’ motivation and make classes more interesting. Finally, it was concluded that Turkish textbooks do not contain enough humorous elements.

The purpose of this study is to know what character values can be instilled through debate learning. Debate learning is a new basic competence that high school students have to study in this 2013 revision of the 2016 curriculum. In 2016, SMA Negeri 1 Karanganyar became the 1st champion in high school debate competition in Karanganyar regency. The management of debate learning in SMA Negeri 1 Karanganyar has become a benchmark for other schools in implementing debate learning. In addition to the teaching materials and methods used, the main thing in learning this curriculum is about character education for students. This research is qualitative research with case study method. Technique of taking data in this research is by using technique of record and record from result of observation done in class X SMA Negeri 1 Karanganyar. The result obtained from this research is the discovery of 13 character values, namely: 1) honest; 2) discipline; 3) hard work; 4) curiosity; 5) nationalism; 6) appreciate achievement; 7) communicative; 8) love of peace; 9) reading; 10) environmental care; 11) responsibility; 12) manners; And 13) confident.Keywords: character education, debate learning, 2013 revision curriculum IMPLEMENTASI PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DALAM PEMBELAJARAN DEBAT KURIKULUM 2013 PADA SMA NEGERI 1 KARANGANYARAbstrakPembelajaran debat merupakan kompetensi dasar baru yang harus dipelajari siswa SMA pada edisi kurikulum 2013 revisi 2016 ini. SMA Negeri 1 Karanganyar merupakan SMA pedoman bagi sekolah-sekolah lain di lingkungan Kabupaten Karanganyar karena terlihat dari input dan output siswa yang baik. Pada tahun 2016 kemarin SMA Negeri 1 Karanganyar menjadi juara 1 dalam lomba debat tingkat SMA se-kabupaten Karanganyar. Pengelolaan pembelajaran debat yang ada di SMA Negeri 1 Karanganyar menjadi tolok ukur bagi sekolah lain dalam menerapkan pembelajaran debat. Selain materi dan metode ajar yang digunakan, hal utama dalam pembelajaran kurikulum ini adalah mengenai pendidikan karakter untuk siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui apa saja nilai-nilai karakter yang dapat ditanamkan melalui pembelajaran debat. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Teknik pengambilan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik rekam dan catat dari hasil observasi yang dilakukan di kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Karanganyar. Hasil yang didapat dari penelitian ini berupa ditemukannya 13 nilai karakter, yakni: 1) jujur; 2) disiplin; 3) kerja keras; 4) rasa ingin tahu; 5) nasionalisme; 6) menghargai prestasi; 7) komunikatif; 8) cinta damai; 9) gemar membaca; 10) peduli lingkungan; 11) tanggung jawab; 12) sopan santun; dan 13) percaya diri.Kata kunci: pendidikan karakter, pembelajaran debat, kurikulum 2013 revisi

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui faktor penyebab kekerasan antar siswa SMA/SMK di sekolah Kota Mataram;  (2) mengetahui bentuk kekerasan antar siswa SMA/SMK di sekolah Kota Mataram. Penelitian ini mengunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Teknik penggumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dengan menggunakan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Faktor penyebab terjadinya kekerasan antar siswa yakni: 1) kebencian dan ketidaksenangan; 2) ketidakberdayaan; 3) ketidakpuasan seperti persaingan dan 4) dukungan massa. Bentuk kekerasan antar siswa dikelompokkan dalam 2 kategori yakni, a. Kekerasan fisik yaitu perkelahian meliputi;  1) memukul, 2) mencubit, 3) menendang dan b. Kekerasan verbal yaitu ejekan meliputi; 1) menghina, 2) menatap, 3) menertawakan, 4) memanggil dengan nama binatang. Abstract          This study aims to (1) determine the causes of violence among high school/vocational high school students in Mataram City schools; (2) know the forms of violence between high school/vocational students in Mataram City schools. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques in this study using interviews, observation and documentation. Factors causing violence among students are: 1) hatred and accused; 2) powerlessness; 3) dissatisfaction like competition and 4) mass support. Forms of violence between students are grouped into 2 categories namely, a. Physical violence that is a fight includes; 1) hitting, 2) pinching, 3) kicking, 4) throwing something, 5) nagging, 6) nudging, 7) pushing and b. Verbal violence namely ridicule includes; 1) insulting, 2) staring, 3) laughing, 4) calling by the name of the animal.

The development of information technology affects students in searching and finding information, particularly information regarding the General Election. The explosion of information on mass media about the elections resulted impact (both positive and negative) to the potential voters. Nowadays, media plays role as a tool for political parties to lead public opinion to support their parties. Based on the data provided by General Election Commission (KPU) in 2014, 20% of voters were identified as students (teens). This is a qualitative research with case study method which aims to gain insight about interpretation, understanding, perceptions and feelings of teenage voters’ behavior in searching and finding information about general election in Indonesia year 2014. The data were collected by conducting interview and observation. Informants in this study were students, aged 17-18 years, who studying in government senior high school in Depok. The results of this study indicates that informants using social media to keep update about general election. Besides, they also gain information from their parents and close friends. Unfortunatelly, they were not able to identify which information which are correct or not, so they rely on people around them to make sure whether they did right decision. Therefore, this study also suggest that KPU needs to develop promotion strategy that suitable for teens about general election.

This study investigated the contribution of Facebook Group (FG) in writing activity and the students’ perception of using FG in writing activity. It is qualitative research - case study. It used purposive sampling technique involving three students at eleventh grade of Senior High School. Interview with open-ended was distributed as the technique of collecting data to allow the participants to explore their ideas. Thus, the data was analyzed by content analysis in which the data passed the process of data reduction, data display and conclusion and verification. The finding revealed that Facebook group just has contribution in pre-writing activity while the others’ activities were done in the classroom. Then, through the interview, the students’ stated that they felt comfortable in expressing their ideas through Facebook group, thus, they also felt motivated when their friends’ gave their comments on their statements.

So far, in implementing school strategies, they tend not to utilize Information and Communication Technology (ICT), despite the availability of ICT resources available. Stages of strategic management are needed to generate the vision, mission, objectives, policy, program, budget, and procedures as well as control and evaluation process as an effort to utilize ICT to improve school quality. Based on the interpretation and the results of the study, it is concluded that schools have organized stages in strategic management that enable schools to have a quality profile. The impact of effective utilization of ICTs for schools is the achievement of effective school management, as per the National Education Standards, which is characterized by effective planning, implementation, control, and evaluation of school ICTs.The purpose of this study is to get a general description, describe, and reveal the Strategic Management of Information and Communication Technology Utilization to Improve the Quality of School Learning in Ciledug Al Musaddadiyah Vocational High School and Garut 1 Vocational High School, both on environmental analysis, strategic formulation, implementation and strategic evaluation. The research method used in this research is the case study method, because the problems studied occur in the place and situation of Ciledug Al Musaddadiyah Vocational School and Vocational High School 1 Garut. The use of case study models in this study is based on the consideration that to provide an overview of the strategic management activities of the use of ICTs carried out at vocational high schools with the ultimate goal of being able to improve the quality of school learning. Based on observations in the field of SMK 1 Garut and SMK Al Musaddadiyah Ciledug Garut is one of the public schools and private schools that have these advantages.
