The purposes of this research were do describe the process of character building through life skill simulation and to develop the children’s character through life skill simulation. This action research was conducted in three early childhood education institutions for six months started from March through July 2013. The researcher did the research in collaboration with the local teachers to assess, plan, implement, observe, and do reflection. T test indicated a significant difference between the character development degree before and after the simulation. The hindrances in developing the character through life skill simulation are the children’s shy feeling and low self-confidence as well as the teachers’ limitation in designing the simple, interesting, and easy simulation scenario.

This paper aims to study the storytelling method for early childhood education in the Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad r, where many stories are told by the Prophet which contain educational values. Prophet Muhammad as a great educator realizes that the storytelling method is very effective in instilling faith and character building in children's souls, because in the storytelling method there is an attraction that can touch the souls of listeners/students as if he lives in the story and become one of the actors. The story method in Islamic education has functions and tasks that are not found in other educational methods, it is very effective for attracting the children’s attention and stimulating their brains well, and the story in the Hadith Al-Shareef has features that impact on children's psychology and education which are very strong, clear, and long-term. Therefore, The Prophet Muhammad is the most powerfull model for us in educating our children.

AbstractVietnam has an age-old history of education, and Vietnamese people have high respect for learning. However, early childhood education (ECE) in Vietnam has been the main concern only since 1945. This paper describes the process of establishment and development of ECE in Vietnam. Before and during the French colonial period in Vietnam, early childhood education was not considered a social task, and therefore, there was no formal educational system and curriculum for preschool children at this time. After 1945, with the great transformation of history, Vietnamese education has changed dramatically so that from 1945 to 1975 it was a period of political, social and educational separation. The historical events affect the education system and early childhood education in Vietnam. Consequently, the history of ECE in Vietnam is separated into two main phases, before and after 1975. Through the ups and downs of history, Vietnam has successfully built the ECE system. Over seven decades of development, ECE in Vietnam has made remarkable changes. The change comes not only from the expansion of the number of educational institutions, but also from the curriculum and pedagogy that are considered as the most important changes. Gradually escaping the influence of teacher-centered pedagogy, Vietnamese ECE is aiming to build a child-centered education, thereby helping learners to reach their full potential.

Salah satu prinsip dasar PAUD memberikan rangsangan pendidikan mencakup semua aspek perkembangan anak termasuk perkembangan kemandirian anak. Melalui uji independent kruskal wallis didapatkan p value = 0,000 < α (0,05), sehingga disimpulkan ada perbedaan yang signifikan tingkat sosialisasi anak prasekolah yang mengikuti PAUD dan tidak mengikuti PAUD.Kata Kunci : Kemandirian, Anak Prasekolah, PAUDOne of the basic principles of early childhood education provides educational stimulation covering all aspects of child development including the development of child self-reliance. Sampling technique with simple random sampling for 40 preschool children who follow PAUD and quota sampling for 40 preschool children who do not follow PAUD. The univariate analysis used the frequency distribution table of each variable, while the bivariate analysis used a crucial wallist statistic test to test the comparative hypothesis of two independent samples. The results of the research on the independence level of children following the early childhood education were mostly in the medium category (62.5%) and did not follow the PAUD mostly in the medium category (82.5%) and less (10%). Through independent test kruskal wallis obtained p value = 0,000 <α (0,05), so it is concluded there is significant difference of level of socialization of preschool children who follow early childhood and not follow PAUD.Keywords: Independence, preschool children, PAUD

For data collection, an instrument with questions regarding the characterization of the participants and knowledge about first aid was used. Data were analyzed through statistical techniques, using the Shapiro Wilk and Wilcoxon tests. Results: There was an increase in the number of correct answers to the questions and improvement regarding grades, with an increase in the score from pre- to post-test by 5.17 points and with a significant comparison of sums. Conclusion: Carrying out educational actions on first aid increases the knowledge of early childhood education teachers on the subject and the nurses’ role as health educators is highlighted.

A self-developed test used to measure competencies of children in different learning areas given ECE curriculum 2007. After validation and confirmation of reliability, this test was administered to 1200 children selected from 120 sample schools selected through random sampling technique. The collected data were analyzed using frequency, mean score, ANOVA and Post hoc test. The mean scores of ECE students for all competencies were found slightly above average. A significant difference was observed in mean scores among the boys only, girls only and mixed gender ECE in all learning areas.
