<p>This paper extensively presents the theme of Christian education with a focus on the Sunday school children in Kenya. The author reviews the developmental stage characteristics of the Sunday school children of the Anglican Church to express the aspect of child Christian education in the contemporary society. While Parents are entrusted with the primary responsibility of nurturing, shaping, training and equipping their children to be God-honoring, obedient, and productive members in society; this responsibility in the modern society has been passed on to secular surrogates who do the educating in their place.  It is nonetheless still the key responsibility of parents that their children receive rightful Christian education.The study is limited to children between ages two to eleven years in the church Sunday school in a Kenyan context. More so, the guidelines in this study are limited to the Sunday school for the Christian education of children in the Anglican Church of Kenya with which the author is more conversant.<em></em></p>

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan dan mengetahui Misi Pendidikan Kristen dalam Mewujudkan Murid Kristus, yang tentunya Murid Kristus yang memiliki karakter Kristiani dalam jemaat melalui proses pengajaran di gereja lokal. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian bersifat kualitatif dengan cara studi pustaka yakni mengkaji tentang Misi Pendidikan Kristen yang berpusat pada Kristus akan mewujudkan Murid Kristus yang memiliki wewenang untuk membangun karakter jemaat sesuai dengan ajaran iman Kristiani. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan pemahaman bahwa Misi Pendidikan Kristen berperan baik dalam Mewujudkan Murid Kristus yang memiliki pembentukan karakter kristiani dalam jemaat. Oleh karena itu, disarankan agar Para hamba Tuhan dalam hal ini Gembala Jemaat memiliki loyalitas yang tinggi dalam melaksanakan tugas dan tanggung jawab sebagai rekan kerja Allah yang bukan hanya berkotbah semata, tetapi juga menyampaikan pengajaran dengan hasil terwujud adanya murid Kristus yang memiliki karakter Kristiani nyata dalam diri Jemaat, sehingga jemaat mau melibatkan diri dalam pelayanan maupun dalam penginjilan baik dalam gereja maupun di luar gereja. Kata Kunci: Misi Pendidikan Kristen, Murid Kristus, Gereja Lokal. AbstractThis study aims to describe and know the Mission of Christian Education in Realizing Christ's Disciples, which is certainly Christ's Disciples who have Christian character in the congregation through the teaching process in the local church. This research is a qualitative study by means of literature study that examines the mission of Christian Education centered on Christ will realize Christ's Disciples who have the authority to build the character of the church in accordance with the teachings of the Christian faith. The results of this study provide an understanding that the Christian Education Mission plays a good role in realizing Christ's disciples who have the formation of Christian character in the congregation. Therefore, it is recommended that the pastors of the Church of the Church Shepherd have a high loyalty in carrying out their duties and responsibilities as partners of God who not only preach, but also deliver teaching with the results of the realization of disciples of Christ who have a real Christian character in themselves Congregation, so that the congregation wants to be involved in ministry and in evangelizing both in the church and outside the church. Keywords: Christian Education Mission, Christ Disciples, Local Church

Some Christian education experts have expressed their views on how the church should develop a curriculum to educate church members to achieve maturity in the Christian faith. This article purpose to develop a curriculum for Christian education in Church ministry. The method used is a literature study on the opinions of D. CampbellWyckoff and Maria Harris. The characteristics of Wyckoff and Harris's opinions and various responses in "imaginative dialogue", as well as modifications of the Christian education Foundations, Principles andPractices schemes of Robert W. Pazmino became a model to develop a Christian education curriculum in church life. The development of the Christian education curriculum begins with setting the goal of implementing Christian education for a group in the Christian community. Furthermore, curriculum development requires thecontribution of various development foundations, including biblical, theological, philosophical, educational, scientific and technological, historical, socio-cultural, ecclesiological and psychological.

Teacher modeling in carrying out church mission is very important. The teacher as a spiritual leader is crucial for success or failure ministry in spiritual educational, as well as education in all life fields. All educational institutions require theachers not only to be good at teaching but also as role models, as well as in Sundy school education in the church there needs to be a model teacher. The Gospel of Matthew gives an example that Jesus is the example of creative teacher. Specially the verb of didasko (teaching) with various forms used nine times to describe the activity of Jesus as a teacher. The activity of Jesus is more often informed by the word teaching (didasko = teaching) rather than the verb of preaching (kerusso = preaching). That Is why Jesus called the Teacher as a creative teacher, the teaching methods used by Jesus are not monotonous but varies according to the place, circumstance and needs of His students or listeners. The purpose of this research is to describe the example of Jesus as a teacher according to Matthew, to describe the extent of the exemplary teachers of Sunday School of the GPdI “Bethesda” Merauke Papua to recommend the application of Jesus example as a teacher based on the Gospel of Matthew for Sunday School teachers in the GPdi Church. This research uses a qualitative approach; research paradigm, theological phenomenology, because it uses the interpretation of the text in the context of the Gospel of Matthew as a theoretical basis. Data source from 44 participants of Sunday School teachers in GPdI “Bethesda” Merauke. Methods and techniques of collecting interview data. Data analysis using the theory of Miles and Huberman. Conclusion: The Gospel of Matthew shows Jesus as the best teacher and can be emulated by all Sunday School teachers, example: in terms of His caling to receive a vision to serve, carry out a mission as a teacher, understand His purpose to serve in His personality is characterized, have integrity, charismatic, to be responsible, positive thinking, have ethos, nice worl, confidence, extensive knowledge, pull yourself together. In His spirituality includes centering on God, living in prayer, living righteously, living holy. In the professionalism of His ministry that is focused on goals and tasks, understanding children’s psychology, mastering teaching materials, skillful planning, skillful carrying out, skillful evaluating, skillful assessing as a communicator, as a facilitator. Having the ability to serve children is a thing, very important and can not be ignored because children are. The assets of the church and the next generation of God’s church. Therefore the role of a teacher in serving Sunday School children must be an important concern in a pastoral hearing, because church leaders and teachers have a great responsibility for the growth of faith in Sunday School children.

The author of the paper discusses Christian testimony as a fundamental position from which a believer and Christian community start the proclamation of the Truth that is recognized as fundamental for life. Testimony is examined from biblical positions and put in the context of modern society and the context of Christ’s Paschal Mystery in order to develop a reflection on the form and content of contemporary witnesses. In reflecting on the testimony, the author leans on the thought of the Swiss theologian Hans Urs von Balthasar and, based on his insights, the author develops some elements of testifying that stem from the Cross of Christ. From the Cross, which represents kenosis, we can read the form of testifying as well as the contents of the testimony, which involves every act of humility of Christian life. The author concludes with some specific expressions of the form and contents of Christian testimony in the contemporary context from the position of contemplating the Cross, all with the aim to present this thought out testimony as a dialogical and integrating element of the Church and the contemporary society.

The Book of Common Prayer (BCP) is the first introduction to Anglican belief and liturgy for many. More specifically, the Book of Common Prayer of 1662 contains the traditional catechism of the Church of England, enjoining catechumens to receive training and instruction in basic doctrines and Christian living. This takes place in the contexts of the liturgy and the more comprehensive doctrinal statements of the 39 Articles of Religion. Anglican religion traditionally allowed its members to verbalise their faith in both ritual and confession, thus serving the church and not so much life in the world. A revisit of the intentions of the catechism within its historical and prayer book contexts will show that it essentially expresses lasting truths of the Christian faith. In a world increasingly divorced from particular Christian expressions, the Anglican Church needs to rethink its particular use of the catechism for its continued relevance in meeting the questions and challenges Anglicans face daily.

Lebih jauh lagi Sekolah Minggu merupakan wadah yang di pakai untuk mengajar anak-anak sesuai dengan pertumbuhan usia mereka. Pelayanan Sekolah Minggu membawa pengaruh yang positif terhadap pertumbuhan Gereja, karena anak-anak Sekolah Minggu akan menjadi generasi penerus Gereja yang melanjutkan tugas dan tanggung jawab Gereja sebagai saksi Kristus di tengah-tengah dunia yang penuh dengan tantangan ini. Tantangan yang akan di hadapi oleh Gereja pada masa yang akan datang semakin banyak di karenakan perubahan zaman dunia modern yang sudah tidak lagi mementingkan ajaran agama.   ABSTRACT         Sunday School service is one of the factors that is quite potential in the process of Church growth. Furthermore, Sunday School is a place that is used to teach children according to their age growth. Sunday School services have a positive influence on the growth of the Church, because Sunday School children will become the next generation of the Church who continue the Church's duties and responsibilities as witnesses of Christ in the midst of this challenging world. The challenges that will be faced by the Church in the future will be more and more due to the changes in the modern world era that are no longer concerned with religious teachings.

“Revivalism's erosion of the norms traditionally associated with Reformation commitment to catechetical instruction was a gradual process. … By the end of the nineteenth century, the Sunday School had become the dominant form of Christian education. … Slowly but surely, confirmation has come to be seen as a time when individuals explore their faith and decide for themselves whether or not they will continue to participate in the church. … A new series of liturgical-teaching practices must be formulated, harking back to traditional forms of catechetical instruction for children or the adult catechumenate of the ancient church.”

The conferment of martyrdom is a thorn in the flesh in the Anglican Church today. Bernard Mzeki has been commemorated annually since the late 1930s as a martyr in the Anglican Church of Zimbabwe. This is because Mzeki died a mysterious death on 18 June 1896 during the period of the first War of Liberation (Chimurenga) in Zimbabwe. Although there are other factors that might have contributed to the death of Mzeki, the church strongly believes that he died for his Christian faith. Whilst it is a fact that the Church of the Province of Central Africa does not have official, written criteria to confer martyr status, the mystics surrounding the death of Mzeki—as documented by Farrant (1966) and Broderick (1953)—authenticated his martyr status. In this regard, the martyrdom of Mzeki remained unique from the 1940s during the bishopric of William Paget, who accepted the unwritten “bottom-to-top” procedure in canonising his martyrdom. It is interesting to note that from the 1990s the church in Zimbabwe has had figures like Rev. Peter Wagner and Mrs Mandeya, who were presumed to have died for their faith, but were not recognised as martyrs. In the same period, Zimbabwean Bishops like Ishmael Mukwanda and others were advocating for an official, written procedure to canonise them. It is based on the above analysis that this article will examine the role played by Mzeki in the strengthening of the Anglican faith in Zimbabwe.

The importance of this community activity is carried out to provide assistance to the Tegalrejo Indonesian Christian Church in facing the New Normal. The objectives, firstly to provide assistance to the church, second to socialize to the Indonesian Christian Church Tegalrejo congregation, especially Sunday School children applying Clean and Healthy Behavior in facing the New Normal. The method used is the making of a Clean and Healthy Behavior videos with church administrators, socialization to Sunday school children. The result of this community service is a Clean and Healthy Behavior video for Sunday School children, an increase in the capacity of church administrators in arranging procedures for conducting worship, increasing the capacity of Sunday school children in implementing Clean and Healthy Behavior in the New Normal era.   ABSTRAK   Pentingnya kegiatan masyarakat ini dilakukan untuk memberikan pendampingan kepada Gereja Kristen Indonesia Tegalrejo dalam menghadapi New Normal. Tujuan, pertama memberikan pendampingan kepada gereja, kedua mensosialisasikan kepada jemaat GKI Tegalrejo terutama anak-anak Sekolah Minggu penerapan Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS) menghadapi New Normal. Metode yang digunakan adalah pembuatan video PHBS dengan pengurus Gereja, sosialisasi pada anak-anak Sekolah Minggu. Hasil dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah video PHBS untuk anak Sekolah Minggu, Peningkatan kapasitas pengurus gereja dalam menyusun tata cara pelaksanaan ibadah, peningkatan kapasitas anak-anak sekolah minggu dalam melaksanakan PHBS di era New Normal.
