The increase score in the value of the average rating of knowledge was statistically significant in the demonstration group better than the leaflet group. The difference in the average value of the demonstration and demonstration group rankings + leaflets is not meaningful.

Introduction: The evidence show that the attitudes to any specialty can be improved as a result of a skillful and interested presentation and negative attitudes toward psychiatry can be the particular target in clinical and non-clinical courses [1]. The present study aimed to compare the attitudes and knowledge of psychiatric residents about psychotherapy before and after the psychotherapy rotation. Methodology: The present study was a descriptive research using causal-comparative method. The population consisted of all psychiatric residents in the universities of Tehran in 2018-2019. The study was a census and all residents were asked to participate if they were willing to. From different universities of medical sciences including Iran, Shahid Beheshti, Tehran, Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, 27, 24, 25, and 41 subjects were included in the study, respectively. The total number of subjects was 117. The researcher-made questionnaire was used for three groups of residents to assess their psychiatric attitudes and knowledge: the residents who passed the theoretical and practical psychotherapy courses, the residents who have not yet passed the psychotherapy course, and those who were passing the theoretical course. Cronbach's alpha coefficients for internal consistency of attitude and knowledge were 0.953 and 0.985, respectively. Findings: one-way variance analysis test was used to analyze the variables. According to the results of this test, there was a significant difference among the psychiatric residents in terms of knowledge and attitude (p<0.01). Moreover, regarding the means obtained for each group, it can be said that the residents who passed the theoretical and practical courses of psychotherapy had higher mean in attitude and knowledge than the other two groups; the difference was statistically significant. Conclusion: in any educational relationship, the attitudes of educators and learners play a key role in effectiveness and success. The psychotherapy course can change the negative stereotypes about psychiatry in psychiatrists and provide an important opportunity to change their negative attitudes.

Abū Bakr ‘Utsman ibn Muḥammad al-Dimyāṭī in I'ānatu al-Ṭōlibīna delivered that mu’āmalāt discussed after ibādāt and before other topics in Fiqh because the human need to economic transactions is important thing. This point reveals that Fiqh has concerned to economic issues, that manifested by provides basic principles, legal theories, and general prohibitions that underlie mu’āmalāt dealings. Fiqh’s concern has been aligning with OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) recommendation which advised specifically that financial education should start as early as possible at school as beginning stage of students lives. The difference between these two is OECD has not been providing basic principles, legal theories, and general prohibitions like Fiqh, but this recommendation contributed to the development of Financial Literacy framework. This article aims to elaborate the matrix between Fiqh Mu’āmalāt and Financial Literacy as an educational framework for secondary education. Specifically, this framework is directed to be implemented on learning activities in pondok pesantren as educational institutions that has been teaching life skills based on Islamic studies.

Purpose Using survey data from Shandong, Henan and Guizhou provinces of China, the purpose of this paper is to accurately measure the impact of rural residents’ financial education on financial literacy. Design/methodology/approach This paper chooses one province from the Eastern, Central and Western Regions of China, namely, Shandong, Henan and Guizhou, respectively, and 1,565 samples are obtained through a questionnaire survey. First, the paper constructs a financial literacy assessment framework and, then, scores the financial literacy of the respondents. Second, using ordinary least squares, feasible generalized least squares method and forward search method, the paper estimates the impact factors of financial literacy level. To avoid sample selection errors and endogeneity problems, the authors divide the respondents into treatment group (participated in financial education) and control group (non-participating in financial education) and, then, adopt propensity score matching (PSM) to analyze the impact of rural residents’ financial education on financial literacy. Findings The results show that education level and risk level have significant impact on rural residents’ participation in financial education, and some unobservable abilities and qualities also affect their participation. Therefore, the process of rural residents’ participation in financial education exists, which gives rise to self-selection and endogeneity problems; financial education is promoting rural residents’ financial literacy, but the effect of promotion becomes smaller after taking into account sample self-selection and endogenous problems. Rural residents of female, higher age, single, higher education level, higher parental education level, agricultural type, higher family annual per capita income and lower risk level show stronger effects on their financial literacy level, if they participate in financial education. Research limitations/implications The survey sample was drawn from three provinces randomly but the site selection was not random. The implication is in rural China, financial education has positive effect on residents’ financial literacy level but considering the sample self- selection and endogenous nature, its impact becomes smaller. Practical implications The government should encourage rural residents to participate fully in financial education activities, especially those with a low educational level, low risk preference and mainly engaged in agricultural production. Originality/value The effect of financial education on financial literacy has not reached a consistent conclusion, and there is fewer quantitative discussion about this issue. The originality of this paper is based on the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development evaluation index system; this paper constructs the evaluation index system of rural residents’ financial literacy in China and uses the PSM method to accurately measure the effect of financial education on financial literacy.

AbstractBased on a sample of university students, we provide evidence that a small-scale training intervention has both a statistically and economically significant effect on subjective and objective assessments of financial knowledge. We also show that the intervention increases self-assessed more than actual financial knowledge. The intervention consists of measuring financial literacy before and after a small on-line course and is administered through an on-line platform.

Financial literacy and financial education are important components of modern life. The importance of financial literacy is increasing for financial consumers because of the weakening of both government and employer-based retirement systems. Unfortunately, empirical research shows that financial consumers are not fully informed and are not able to make proper choices even when appropriate information is available. More research is needed as to how financial consumers obtain investment and financial planning information. A primary data study was conducted to understand the differences between the demographic categories of gender, age, education-level, and income-level with the means of obtaining investment and financial planning information. In this research study, which selected a population from the LinkedIn platform, statistical differences between gender, age, education-level, and income-level were confirmed. These differences helped to confirm prior research in this field of study. Practical opportunities for commercial outreach to specific populations became evident through this type of research. Providers of investment and financial planning information can access their targeted audience more effectively by understanding the demographic profile of the audience, as well as the propensity of the demographic profile of the audience to respond. As this type of research is relatively easy to construct and administer, commercial outreach for providers of investment and financial planning information can be conducted in a cost-efficient and effective manner.
