<em>This study aims to analyze and explore the relationship of demographic aspects of society, including gender, education level, income level, occupation, religion, and spiritual level towards the types of banks that used by the people of Indonesia. The research method used is descriptive quantitative method with  correspondence analysis technique.  200 communities have been chosen as a sample. They are the customers of conventional banks, sharia banks, or  both of them. The results of this study argue  that, not all demographic aspects of society have association or relationship with the type of bank selected by respondents. Only religion and spiritual level aspects have real associations. Muslim respondents are more likely to choose Islamic banks than non-multifarious respondents. Respondents with high spiritual level tend to be associated with sharia banks rather than low ones. This research can be used for the marketing designer as one of the basic determines for the marketing strategy of the bank.</em>

This paper aims at examining the nexus between riba, gharar and income level, and Islamic Banking Products among Zanzibar people. The Islamic bank products such as Murabahah, Musharakah, Mudarabah, Ijarah, Hawalah, Takaful and Sukuk were considered as independent variables for this study. On the other hand, the dependent variables investigated were three (3) namely riba, gharar and income level. A total of 116 respondents consisting of Zanzibar people residing in different districts responded to the survey questionnaire via google form. The study used statistical techniques to analyse the collected data in terms of demographic, descriptive, reliability and validity analysis and presented by charts, tables and curves. The hypothesis test has been conducted using correlation analysis. Statistically, the finding revealed that, the people of Zanzibar were against Riba but in favour of Murabahah, Musharakah, Mudarabah, Ijarah, Hawalah, Takaful and Sukuk with p≤0.01. The result also revealed that the people of Zanzibar were against gharar with p≤0.01. On the other hand, income level showed a significant correlation against Mudarabah, Ijarah, Hawalal, Takaful and Sukuk as p≤0.01. These findings suggest that the products and services of Islamic banks have a significant relationship with Riba, Gharar and level of income for Islamic banks’ shariah priority. It is also shown that riba and gharar were significantly impacted the people of Zanzibar for the influence on the acquisition of Islamic bank facilities which are vital on direct effects that attract customers and investors in which they are customised from conventional banks products. As the awareness level from these Islamic products are high, it is recommended that Islamic banks should focus in designing Islamic banks products (Murabahah, Musharakah, Mudarabah, Ijarah, Hawalah, Takaful and Sukuk) that will comply with Shariah requirement.

This study is essential because Islamic banks have a higher NPF level than conventional banks and examine whether macroeconomic indicators (macro-risk), internal factors of banking (GCG-earnings-capital) risk profile correlate term Indonesian Islamic banking. The method used is the correlation analysis involving four macro-risk variables (Forex; BI rate; Inflation and GDP), three GEC variables (GCG; ROA, and CAR), and two risk profiles (FDR and NPF). The number of samples is the ten largest Indonesia sharia commercial banks with the 2011-2018 periods. This research finds that macroeconomic indicators positively correlate to non-performing financing (NPF). The GEC positively correlates to NPF and FDR; GEC is negatively correlated to macro-risk indicators. However, some indicators are negatively correlated, such as GDP-corporate governance, Forex-profitability, GDP-efficiency, BI rate-capital, and profitability-NPF. With the evolution of Islamic banking, the economic impact of Islamic finance has been studied by many authors. Islamic banks significantly differ from conventional banks in terms of underlying contracts. The asset side of Islamic banks is composed of different modes of financing, which can be categorized at participatory and non-participatory modes of financing. This study aims to examine the relationship of modes of Islamic financing in connection to the real economic output of Pakistan. Using quarterly data from 2005 to 2019, we use autoregressive distributive lag (ARDL) model to analyze the impact of modes of Islamic financing and industrial output. Our findings reveal that non-participatory modes of Islamic financing play a significant role in deriving a healthy aggregate economic output. Therefore, Industrial production found to have a significant positive long run relationship with non-participatory Islamic financing. However, financing modes based on partnership does not have significant impact on total industrial production. The results also show that poor asset quality hinders the production process in the long run and decreases the economic outcome.

This study has three objectives. First, to find out the people of Tangerang City perception aboutsharia law regarding saving in Islamic and conventional banks. Second, to find out their Islamicfinancial literacy level. And third, to determine the relationship between their perceptions and theirIslamic financial literacy level. This study uses quantitative methods with primary data collectedby integrating questionnaires in 13 sub-districts in the city of Tangerang. The method used todetermine the number of samples is the Slovin formula, while data analysis uses the Kendall’sTau correlation. This study produced several findings. First, the perception of the Tangerang citypeople about the law of saving in Islamic banks is dominated by the answer recommended, whilethe saving law in conventional banks according to the majority of the people of Tangerang City ispermissible. Second, the level of sharia financial literacy in Tangerang City is low, with the lowestindicators are their skills in using Islamic financial services. Third, there is a strong relationshipbetween the people of Tangerang City perception about sharia law saving in banks with the levelof Islamic financial literacy.

Abstract: In principle, the relationship between the bank and its customers are saving money in the bank based on the relationship of trust, so that each bank is required to have to continue to maintain the level of health. Solutions that can be taken by the banks, both conventional banks and Islamic banks, to maintain the existence and level of health is with the implementation of the principles of good corporate governance. Therefore, it is interesting to examine the comparison of implementation of the principles of good corporate governance in conventional banks and Islamic banks. The method used in this study is a normative legal research. This research use approach legislation. The results showed that in essence, the implementation of the principles of good corporate governance in conventional banks and Islamic banks are the 'same', because it refers to the "Code of Good Corporate Governance Indonesian Banking" issued by the National Committee on Governance (NCG). The fundamental difference lies in Islamic principles used by Islamic banks. In addition to guided and supervised by the Financial Services Authority as conventional banks, Islamic banks are also supervised by the National Sharia Board MUI and Sharia Supervisory Board who served in each Islamic bank. Thus can drawing conclusions about the relationship of the school with the community is essentially a very decisive tool in fostering and developing the personal growth of students in schools. If the relationship between the school and the community goes well, the sense of responsibility and participation of the community to advance the school will also be good and high. In order to create relationships and cooperation between schools and the community, the community needs to know and have a clear picture of the school they have obtained.The presence of schools is based on the good will of the country and the people who support it. Therefore people who work in schools inevitably have to work with the community. The community here can be in the form of parents of students, agencies, organizations, both public and private. One reason schools need help from the community where schools are because schools must be funded.

This study provides the synonyms for the terms deliberate self-harm and self-destructive behaviour, together with a psychological portrait of self-harming adolescents, the consequence of self-harm, the purpose of self-harm, and the forms of self-harm. It also presents the results of a survey regarding the prevalence of people with non-suicidal self-harming behaviour, the gender of people with non-suicidal self-harming behaviour, the age of the first non-suicidal self-harming behaviour in these people, the frequency of non-suicidal self-harming behaviour in these people, the association of the non-suicidal self-harming behaviour with substance misuse in these people, the relationships of the people with non-suicidal self-harming behaviour with their fathers, mothers, and siblings, the relationships of the people with non-suicidal self-harming behaviour with their friends, the possible causes of self-harming behaviour in these people, and the relationship of people with non-suicidal self-harming behaviour with religion. Some of the results confirmed literature results, while others shed a new light on other aspects related to people with non-suicidal self-harming behaviour

One of the grand scenes of the Passion narratives can be found in John’s Gospel where Pilate, presenting Jesus to the people, proclaims “Behold the man”: “Ecce Homo.” But what exactly does Pilate mean when he asks the reader to “Behold”? This paper takes as its point of departure a roughly drawn picture of Jesus in the “Ecce Homo” tradition and explores the relationship of this picture to its referent in John’s Gospel, via its capacity as kitsch devotional art. Contemporary scholarship on kitsch focuses on what kitsch does, or how it functions, rather than assessing what it is. From this perspective, when “beholding” is understood not for what it reveals but for what it does, John’s scene takes on a very different significance. It becomes a scene that breaks down traditional divisions between big and small stories, subject and object as well as text and context. A kitsch perspective opens up possibilities for locating John’s narrative in unexpected places and experiences. Rather than being a two-dimensional departure from the grandeur of John’s trial scene, kitsch “art” actually provides a lens through which the themes and dynamics of the narrative can be re-viewed with an expansiveness somewhat lacking from more traditional commentary.

<p><em>Islamic banking is based on profit and loss mechanism where the use of interest is prohibited.  Unlike conventional banks, these banks do not charge a specific rate of interest, rather provides financing in exchange for profit sharing.  However, there are studies claiming that, in practice, Islamic banking is same as conventional banking with regard to the use of interest. It is also claimed that, Islamic deposits are not interest-free, but are closely attached to conventional deposits.  On this background, the objective of this study is to examine the relationship between pricing in Islamic banks vis-à-vis conventional banks by taking the case of Bangladesh. We have used monthly data during the period of 2009-2013. The findings of the study showed that, there is no statistically significant difference between the monthly average lending rates of Islamic banks and conventional banks. However, there is significant difference between deposit rates. The existence of causal relationship was inconclusive, and requires further analysis.</em></p>

THE MEANING OF THE PLACE AND THE VISIBILITY OF THE SOCIO-ENVIRONMENTAL DILEMMAS LIVED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE JARDIM OLIVEIRA DISTRICT, CÁCERES, STATE OF MATO GROSSOEL SIGNIFICADO DEL LUGAR Y LA VISIBILIDAD DE LOS DILEMAS SOCIOAMBIENTALES VIVENCIADOS POR LOS MORADORES DEL BAIRRO JARDÍN OLIVEIRA, CÁCERES, MATO GROSSORESUMOEste estudo foi realizado no bairro Jardim Oliveira, situado na cidade de Cáceres/MT, à margem esquerda do rio Paraguai. O objetivo consistiu em entender a relação dos moradores com o lugar. A pesquisa foi de natureza exploratória e descritiva, com abordagem qualitativa. Para o levantamento de dados nos pautamos em observação, entrevista semiestruturada e registros fotográficos. Os resultados revelaram que o Jardim Oliveira é percebido pela experiência dos moradores, que mesmo com as limitações, conhecem, dão sentidos e significados ao lugar. Verificou-se a topofilia associada ao sentimento pelo lugar, o que poderia ser contraditório, visto que os mesmos interlocutores relataram que já vivenciaram e/ou presenciaram casos de violência no bairro. O rio Paraguai aparece como centralidade nas relações dos moradores com o lugar. É visível a ausência de infraestrutura básica no bairro, o que interfere de forma direta na vida dos moradores, levando-os a vivenciarem os dilemas socioambientais.Palavras-chave: Questões Socioambientais; Lugar; Rio Paraguai; Mato Grosso.ABSTRACTThis study was carried out in the Jardim Oliveira district, located in the municipality of Cáceres, State of Mato Grosso, on the left bank of the Paraguai River. The objective was to understand the relationship of the residents with the place. The research was exploratory and descriptive, with a qualitative approach. For the survey of data we are in observation, semi-structured interview and photographic records. The results revealed that Jardim Oliveira is perceived by the residents experience, that even with the limitations, they know, give meanings and meanings to the place. Topophilia was associated with feeling for the place, which could be contradictory, since the same interlocutors reported that they had experienced and / or witnessed cases of violence in the neighborhood. The Paraguai River appears as centrality in the relations of the residents with the place.
