Very often after a strongly felt earthquake, the media and the general public consider seismologists to be the source of all information, particularly in regions where earthquakes occur infrequently. Widely felt earthquakes can have a strong social impact (“the post-earthquake vibrations among the public”) whenever the population is unprepared. Since 1935, eastern Canadian seismologists have been involved in four cases of post-earthquake communications with social impact. Recently, seismologists of the Geological Survey of Canada developed a communications strategy to help people cope with post-earthquake stress, particularly that component of stress arising from an insufficient knowledge of earthquakes. A communications plan is prepared before the emergency response period; a high priority is given to those persons who felt the earthquake most strongly; basic information on earthquake phenomena and preparedness is provided; and finally, seismologists make themselves both known and available before and after the earthquake. With this strategy, seismologists can help to relieve unnecessary anxiety and to promote positive preparation.

In the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, astronomers as well as modern society in general cannot turn away from the reality of virtual life. People get information, read and study any knowledge is very easy because everything is available in their hands. Faced with this condition, what about astronomy scholarship? Amid the assumption that astronomy and experts are very rare. So astronomers are demanded to be able to adapt and develop themselves with 'literacy' technology to be able to package the astronomy knowledge and present its content to the public easily and to construct it in digital form. Why does this virtual reality have to be faced and how to deal with it? Associated with efforts to answer the needs of the public about astronomical scholarship in virtual reality, various innovations and creativity of astronomers emerged in the form of digitizing material, books (books) and astronomical applications. This variety of innovations will increase the interest of millennial students to learn and master it. Through this paper,-some of the digitization pattern-, the author will study it with the content analysis method and describe it descriptively-interpretatively. From the results of studies, the author has led to a conclusion that; the first, found a number of patterns of celestial scientific digitalization; from the side of the content, the digital astronomical material consists of the calculation of qibla direction, prayer time, the beginning of the month and eclipse and the practice of its determination, from the media aspect, the astronomy knowledge is presented through social media, such as facebook, instagram, whatsApp and youtube; through website-based media, such as bimasislam.kemenag.go.id, and if.walisongo.ac.id., in the form of smartphone applications, such as digital falak, mizwandroid, qiblat, usholli and so on. While the design of the presentation is varied, in the form of text, video, images and pdf. The second, each of these patterns has made a valuable contribution to the virtual learning of astronomy for millennial society in the current era of the industrial revolution 4.0.

Vertical greenery (VG) is greenery where plants can be grown on, up, or against internal or external walls of buildings or as freestanding structures. Whereas, public art (PA) is a structure or form that contains an artistic expression. It is placed in public spaces. VG has gained tremendous popularity in recent years, and this offers an opportunity to integrate it as a part of public art in cities. A place with a combination of art and aesthetics with environmental principles would become a new urban art that will help extend VG’s survivability and human security in the future. Most research in VG focuses on an environmental and technical aspect that consider its benefits, technical issues, feasibility, acoustic impact, sustainability, system and maintenance. On the other hand, creative methods to approach VG are seldom researched upon especially in Malaysia. Hence, this study explores this possibility from the public’s perspectives. The objectives were to identify public’s familiarity and values of VG as PA, and VG attributes to be as a PA. An online survey was used to obtain public’s perspectives on the integration of VG as PA. The target respondents were the public, whereby the link to the survey was sent out to 400 potentialrespondents. The survey obtained 117 responses, and they were gathered automatically in an Excel spreadsheet. The data were converted into the themes to generate results. Findings yield positive outcomes in terms of the public’s familiarity of the terminologies (i.e. VG and PA), people’s awareness of VG in an urban environment, and the possibilities and potentials of VG to become a PA in Malaysian cities. It means that VG has extended beyond the environmental benefits to also become an art form for people in a city.

Abstract Using the network analysis method, the third level of the agenda-setting proposes that the associations between the elements on the media agenda are transferred to the public agenda. Focusing on five health issues in Turkey, this paper proposes a new perspective to third level researches. A media agenda content analysis was conducted on 13 nationwide and five local newspapers for six months and at the end of it, a public agenda survey on 400 people was conducted in Aydın, a city in Turkey. Findings show that there is a significant similarity between all the diseases chosen as a sample and taken from the newspapers and the public agenda network. The high correlation has been ranked in descending areas as: AIDS, cancer, obesity, diabetes and blood pressure. The concepts of “need for orientation” and “obtrusive and unobtrusive issues” may serve as explanations for these findings.

Throughout the evolution of public political discourse we have repeatedly seen the effects of scandals on the careers of many politicians. Although the cultural and societal norms that have traditionally dictated the results of such scandals have changed dramatically within the last two centuries, I believe that the aftermath of these scandals may be better understood by analyzing and comparing the politician’s previously established public image to the scandal at hand. I will argue that a negative impact only occurs if and when there is a clear contradiction of character that presents the politician as a deceitful or hypocritical person in the media sphere and therefore the eyes of the public.

There have been only a few attempts so far of setting journalism education in the context of sustainability, but there is not the theoretical proposition of the general paradigm of sustainable journalistic education. By critical analysis of the tradition of journalism education and research of it, the paper identifies all emergences of journalistic education in the context of development and sustainability. Based on the evolution of academic proposals to advance journalism education, most current references are aimed at updating journalistic knowledge and acquiring skills connected to the technological revolution leading to substantial media change, journalistic genres convergence, journalism producing trends, different subjects that create journalism and new socially important topics, all followed by upgraded media ethics and laws mirroring the importance of strong links between academy, profession and the public. In complex global surroundings, however, while the media form realities, impose understandings and meanings, follow us everywhere and fully participate in our lives, education of journalists should be understood much deeper and taken more seriously than ever. Apart from being professionally educated, autonomous and responsible, (self)-conscious humanists are needed to cope and properly respond to such challenges. The sustainable cycle of journalism education could answer those needs by focusing on the academic outcome of a journalist as a whole human being if the holistic education perspective is applied. Based on the Journalistic Personality Model, the aim of this theoretical paper is to elaborate on the concept of sustainable journalism education and its advantages.Key Words:holistic education, journalism curriculum, Journalistic Personality Model, sustainable development, sustainable journalism educationDo sada je zabilježeno tek nekoliko pokuaja postavljanja novinarskog obrazovanja u kontekst održivoga razvoja, ali ne i teorijski prijedlog opće paradigme održivoga novinarskog obrazovanja. Kritičkom analizom tradicije obrazovanja novinara i istraživanja o njemu, rad utvrđuje sve pojavnosti novinarskog obrazovanja u kontekstu razvoja i održivosti. Međutim, u složenom globalnom okruženju u kojemu mediji oblikuju stvarnost, nameću razumijevanja i značenja, prate nas svugdje i potpuno sudjeluju u naem životu, obrazovanje novinara treba razumijevati dublje i ozbiljnije nego ikada.
