In the teaching and learning process, an educator must be creative and can use engaging learning media. Learning media is expected to be able to help educators to deliver the subject matter well. Therefore, an educator (teacher) must have the minimum skills, proficiency, and expertise that meet specific standards and competencies. One of the gifts is content knowledge. Content Knowledge (CK) is the initial ability of an educator that should be mastered in mastering learning material (understanding of material concepts). To master the ability of good content knowledge in science teacher candidates, one can see from the students' ability to create and compile learning media. This study aims to: determine (1) the ability of content knowledge of science teacher candidates in making learning media based on indicators, and (2) the significance of content knowledge of science teacher candidates in making learning media. The research method used is a quantitative description. The research subjects were 15 students of the Science Education Study Program in the academic year 2018. The research instrument used was the content knowledge assessment sheet. The results showed that: (a) the ease of media used 75.73% (good category), the suitability of the media with the characteristics of students 77.53% (good), the accuracy of the media with the material and learning objectives 73% (good), and the attractiveness of the media 80.67 % (well). It also showed that (b) there is a significant difference in students' content knowledge in making learning media with significant value (2-tailed) 0,05, which is 0,000.

Owing to the importance of a subject like Mathematics in the teaching and learning of science, self-learning often poses a challenge to the educator. The objective of this study is to analyse the enhancement of the textual and the media form of self-learning modules to teach Algebra and Geometry to eighth graders considering their retention levels. A pre-test post-test single-group quasi experimental design was tested and tried out on 49 participants of a school. The 20 modules of self-learning material covering content in the topics of Algebra and Geometry in the textual and media-assisted forms of self-learning were administered over three months. The findings of the study revealed the ability of media-assisted self-learning modules to enhance achievement in the post-test when compared to the pre-test. The textual-assisted learning modules was able to enhance significant difference in the achievements in Geometry, but not of Algebra. The delayed post-test results were found to indicate an improved achievement in Mathematics.

A lecturer with a good performance has a positive impact on the quality of teaching and learning. The said quality  includes the delivery of teaching materials, learning methods, and ultimately the academic results of students. Performance of lecturers contributes significantly to the quality of research and community service which in turn improves the quality of teaching materials. It is desirable, therefore, to have a method to measure the performance of lecturers in carrying out the Tri Dharma (or the three responsibility) activities, which consist of teaching and learning process, research, and community service activities, including publications at both national and international level. This study seeks to measure the performance of lecturers and cluster them into three categories, namely "satisfactory", "good", and "poor". Data were taken from academic works of nursing study program lecturers in conducting academic activities. Clustering process is carried out using two machine learning approaches, which is K-Means and K-Medoids algorithms. Evaluation of the clustering results suggests that K-Medoids algorithm performs better compared to using K-Means. DBI score for clustering techniques using K-Means is -0.417 while the score for K-Medoids is -0.652. The significant difference in the score shows that K-Medoids algorithm works better in determining the performance of lecturers in carrying out Tri Dharma activities.
