The activity in the classroom during six meetings, two meetings for pre-test and post-test and four meetings for teaching in the classroom. The data was analyzed by The Wilcoxon Test and The Mann-Whitney Test. The Wilcoxon Test for the control group showed that there was no significant difference between pre-test and post-test. The Wilcoxon test for the experiment group showed that there was significant difference between pre-test and post-test. The Mann-Whitney test for pre-test showed that there was no significant difference between experiment and control class. The Mann-Whitney test for post-test showed that there was significant difference between experiment and control class. Finding of the research showed that, there was significant difference between pre-test and post-test for the experiment class and there was significant differece between experiment and control class for post-test result. This result indicated that there was an effect of metacognitive strategy towards student’s reading comprehension

This research aims to examine whether or not Collaborative Strategy Readingsignificantly affects on students’ reading comprehension. The research samples weretaken using cluster random sampling, with the total number of samples being 72students.The location of this research was SMK Pusaka 1 Jakarta. The research methodologyadopted was Quasi- Experimental methodby involving two groups, namely experimentgroup and control group, with the research design being randomized post-test only controlgroup design. To collect the data, the students were given objective test, numbering 30items. The research data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The findingsindicated that there was significant difference of post-test score between the students whois givenCollaborative Strategy Readingand students who did not getCollaborativeStrategy Reading. It can be seen from the data analysis by using ANOVA that showedFobserved (10.530) is higher than the critical value of Ftable (at the significant level of 0.05and df = 1/70), namely 3.98. It means that Collaborative Strategy Readinghas significanteffect on students’ reading comprehension in recount text.

Abstract: The objectives of this study were to find out : (1) the significant improvement on the first semester students’ reading comprehension before and after being taught using PQRST technique at STIK Siti Khadijah Palembang, South Sumatera, Indonesia; and (2) the significant difference on students’ reading comprehension between the students who were taught by using PQRST technique and those who were not. The population of this research was all the first semester students of STIK Siti Khadijah Palembang which consist of 32 students in academic year 2019/2020. The sample of this research was taken by using total sampling. Thus, the total number of the sample was 32 students. The sample was the first semester students at Nursing Study Program (experimental group) which consist of 32 students and the third semester students at D.III Nursing Study Program (control group) which consist of 32 students. The test was given twice to both experimental and control group. True experimental design was used to analyzed the data. To verify the hypotheses, the data used post-test design to analyzed by using paired sample t-test and independent sample t-test was 0.005 which was lower than 0.05.The result of this research showed that Reading Comprehension by using PQRST technique gave significant improvement on the students’ reading comprehension and gave significant difference between students’ who were taught by PQRST technique and those who were not.   Keywords : Reading Comprehension, PQRST

This research aimed to investigate Google Classroom's effect on blended learning on university students’ English ability. This research utilized a quasi-experimental design which included experimental and control group design.  The study participants comprised 68 students in the first semester at STMIK-AMIK Riau in Pekanbaru-Riau, Indonesia. This research instrument was an achievement test in multiple-choice questions administered to the participants in pre-test and post-test.  The quantitative data were collected by using pre-test and post-test to gauge the students’ English ability before and after conducting the treatments in both groups. The finding revealed that statistically, there was a significant difference in the mean score between the experimental and control group in the post-test. The experimental group that learned English through Google Classroom in blended learning achieved a significantly higher score than control group that learned English through the conventional method.  It was proved that the t-test was higher than the t-table value (5.270>2.042) at the level of significance 0.05 and p=0.000. This study concluded that blended learning through Google Classroom had contributed to the improvement of students’ English ability.

The objective of this study is to measure whether there is or not significant effect of teaching reading by utilizing Hot Potatoes software toward students’ reading comprehension of descriptive text. The variables used were the teaching treatment of Hot Potatoes Software as the independent variable and the students’ reading comprehension of Descriptive Text as dependent variable. Then, the research designed was Quasi-experimental design and the presentation of data used was quantitative. The data were obtained from the eleventh grade, of which 28 students were taken as sample. The students are divided into two groups; experiment group consisted of 12 students and control group consists of 16 students. To get the data, the pre-test and post-test were applied and then analyzed using t-test formula. The researcher had concluded that there is Significant effect of Hot Potatoes Software toward the students’ reading comprehension achievement. The result showed that mean of students’ post-test was increased. It is proved by the t-test (8.54) which is higher than t-table (2.05) at level of significance 5%. It means that the alternative hypothesis was accepted and it proved that Hot Potatoes Software had significant effect toward students’ reading comprehension of Descriptive Text
