This paper is focused on the evaluation of the effectiveness of a tool that is used in the world and Europe to a comprehensive and systematic solution of the employment at the regional level. These are the so-called employment pacts.The theme is the more up-to-date due to the onset of the global economic crisis since 2008, which brought a deepening of socio-economic problems in the labour market, with negative implications upon an increasing rate of unemployment.The Moravian-Silesian Employment Pact has been chosen for the case study. It was established as the first one of its kind in the Czech Republic, in the structurally affected region of Silesia.The result is the finding that employment pacts are generally a useful tool to resolve problems in regional labor markets.

The power outages that have occurred in recent years around the world point to widespread problems with consequences for the lives and health of the population, but also material damage. This is a case study that focuses on the evaluation of the preparedness of the population of a selected region in the Czech Republic for a long-term power outage. This article deals with a case study that focuses on the evaluation of the preparedness of the population of the Karlovy Vary region in the field of emergency survival. Part of the study is the evaluation of the respondents’ answers, which provides an overview of the actual state of preparedness for power outages on a sample group of respondents in the Karlovy Vary region. The research method used was a survey using questionnaires. The obtained information was subsequently statistically evaluated by nonparametric correlation using Kendall’s taub. From the presented results of the survey, it is clear that the inhabitants of smaller municipalities are better prepared for a power outage and can create basic conditions for emergency survival.

The purpose of this study is to express the perspective of development of the hop field area in connection with the growing number of microbreweries and the popularity of special beers in Czechia. Czech beer is a concept all over the world, it comes not only from 45 large industrial breweries, including world-famous breweries from Pilsen, Prague or České Budějovice, but is also produced in more than 480 small breweries (microbreweries), many of which are traditional family businesses. With a consumption of 141 L per person in 2018, the Czechs are among the world’s largest beer consumers and they have already surpassed even the Irish and Germans. The research performed confirmed the validity of the hypothesis about a slight positive effect of the growth in the number of microbreweries and the production of special beers on the extent of the hop field area in Czechia. In addition to the interpretation of new beer styles, this article also discusses the emergence of new aromatic hop varieties, the development of beer tourism and new sales opportunities for hop growers.

Abstract Our planet is warming due to climate change. Along with this, the incidence of fires is increasing. Fires negatively affect the environment. Fire prevention is one of the safety priorities in the Czech Republic and in the world. One aspect of safety is the evacuation of people, animals and potentially property. The paper will present a case study of escape route ventilation.

The multidimensional nature of the study of the problem of differentiating the development of regional labor markets is due to the fact that their state and dynamics are a «mirror» reflection of changes in both the internal and external conditions, are directly dependent on trends in the development of the regional economy. The article considers the economic essence of the phenomenon of differentiation in the context of priority areas of ensuring the stability of the development of labor markets at the regional level. The mechanisms of markets regulation are summarized and the key conditions for their implementation to equalize the differenti-ation of the development of regional labor markets are argued.

The article considers the results of the analysis of the problem of state regulation of the sphere of employment-prevention, prevention and mitigation of unemployment as a key indicator of the state of the spatial economic system. The subjects of the study are the subject of the Russian Federation – the regional level, the federal district of the Russian Federation – the macro – regional level and Russia as a whole-the macro-level. The proposed approach for solving these problems is based on symmetric models of institutional interaction of supply and demand in regional labor markets and a conceptual scheme for selecting applicants in the system of basic competence modules. The main conceptual and technological tools are: typological modeling of the LM of Russia by methods of nonlinear nonparametric analysis in the R-scaling format, as well as multi-criteria balance technologies for representing and analyzing the interaction of supply and demand on RLM.Examples of the results of mapping the main objects of the constructed factor models in the form of typological planes, which depict the states of the observed objects-subjects of the Russian Federation in the corresponding system of integral indicators

The forces and factors driving regional migration have become more complex over time, and traditional explanations for the motivations, attraction, and selection of migrants are no longer sufficient in the study of migration to the Persian Gulf. Qatar, which in the last decade has emerged as one of the Middle East’s fastest-growing economies, provides a sound case study for discussing some of the emerging dynamics of regional labor migration. This chapter examines Arab-origin migration to Qatar, reviewing how the state has negotiated the entry and control of “alien” Arabs. The chapter examines the evolution and transformation of migration patterns to the Gulf Cooperation Council, and assesses policies adopted by the states to better manage their regional labor markets and control the flow of foreigners. Particular attention is given to scrutinizing how and why Qatar has become more selective and politicized in negotiating labor migration, and how this has impacted the Arab expatriate population.
