Abstract The research aims to find the effect of biofilm biofertilizer formula and dose of organic fertilizer on phosphorus uptake and yield of shallot on Vertisols. The research was arranged in a completely randomized block design with two factors: dosage of organic fertilizer (0, 10, 20-ton ha-1) and the formula of biofilm biofertilizer (without BiO2, BiO2 1, BiO2 2, BiO2 3). Variables observed are available-P, P-uptake, bulb number, and bulb weight. Data were analyzed using F test followed by DMRT at α = 0.05. The result shows that 20-ton ha-1 organic fertilizer decomposed with biofilm biofertilizer yield highest P-uptake and plant dry weight which increases 322 and 216 % to control treatment (0.50 and 1.26 g plant-1). The use of 10-ton ha-1 of organic fertilizer yield highest bulb number and weight i.e 5.58 bulbs plant-1 and 116 g plant-1 increase 27 and 172% compared to the control. The BiO2 formula only affected to the plant height, and the use of formula 1 able to increase the plant height about 13.5% compared to control treatment.

Response of Salak Seedlings (Salacca Zallaca) Growth to Dosage of Endomycorrhizal Spore in Quartz Sand and Zeolite Carrier Media. This study aimed to study the effect of endomycorrhizal spore dosage and carrier media that were applied directly to the roots of salak plants. The research designed as factorisl by using Randomized Block Design with 2 treatment factors. The first factor was number of endomycorrhiza spores consists of 4 levels i.e 0, 75, 150, and 225 spores per 500 g carrier media per polybag, while the second factor was the type of carrier media consist of 2 levels i.e zeolite and quartz sand. The results showed that interaction between endomycorrhizal spore dosage with carrier media did not significantly influence the growth of salak seedlings. Endomycorrhizal spores in doses of 75, 150 and 225 spores per polybag increased root infection and leaf P nutrient content compared to control, but seed height, leaf area, shoot dry weight, root dry weight and total dry weight of seedlings not significantly difference. The zeolite carrier media caused root infection by mycorrhizal was higher than quartz sand media, but the P nutrient uptake and seedling growth were not significantly different. Based on the results of this study it is necessary to make a longer observation of the effect of endomycorrhizal spore doses and carrier media on the growth of salak seedlings.

This study aimed to obtain the best medium for growing rootstock rubber seedlings in the root trainer. Rubber clone PR 300 seeds were germinated for 21 days, then raised in root trainer pots for five months. The treatments evaluated were a mixture of cocopeat, Rawapening peat, and manure at different ratios. The experiment was designed in a Randomized Block Design, three replications, 30 plants per replicate, totaling 720 plants. The observed variables were N, P, K, Mg, C-organic content, pH, and cation exchange capacity of cocopeat, peat, and manure, as well as plant growth (height, stem diameter, wet weight, and dry weight). ANOVA used for analyzing data, followed with the Duncan Multiple Range Test at 5% level. The results showed that there were three best root trainer media for PR 300 rubber rootstock seedlings were a mixture of cocopeat + peat (1:1), cocopeat + peat + manure (1:2:1), and cocopeat + peat + manure (2:1:1). The growth and compactness of the roots are outstanding, so the seedlings are easily removed from the root trainer pots without significant damage. Based on the initiation and cost, the best root trainer medium is a mixture of cocopeat + peat + manure (1: 2:1). It is necessary to study the use of other types of peat soils apart from Rawapening. Also, it needs to be observed further plant growth after inoculation with the stem and after planting in the field.

Keywords : Planting medium, Rawapening peat, rubber clone PR 300.

Abstrak

Sifat fisik dan kimia media tanam di dalam wadah root trainer bibit karet sangat penting untuk mendukung pertumbuhan tanaman.
