The article deals with the main strategies, methods and objectives of synchronous and asynchronous E-Learning Modes from a scientific and practical point of view. A detailed description of the synchronous and asynchronous online-learning at different historical stages is presented. The task of the distance education in light of the trends of modern society and its role in the implementation of professional and social aspirations of an student is shown. The basic problems of contemporary ICT, the difference and peculiarities of the synchronous and asynchronous methods of e-communication are determined. The general tendencies, content, sources, means, forms and methods of ICT implementation in terms of strict quarantine circumstances are highlighted. Certain ICT tools implemented by higher educational establishments to provide distance learning in the educational institutions are defined. The key ways of overcoming the contradictions that arise in the path of self-improvement of a student in the present are called. The application of ICT tools by the teaching staff as an essential and effective instrument to modernize the educational process is emphasized. Online-learning environments, namely synchronous and asynchronous ones, essential to provide distance education, are mentioned. Various forms of interaction involved in synchronous and asynchronous modes are pointed out. The current practices of synchronous and asynchronous e-learning/teaching in English language are established. The results of the case study of the effectiveness of a/synchronous environments towards better English language learning are evaluated. The analysis of the strategy used in distance learning is presented. The leading instruments and tools for synchronous and asynchronous online-learning are stressed on. The description of "high degree of interactivity" between participants who are separated from each other geographically and in time by asynchronous learning environments is provided. The basic measures for the introduction of distance learning technologies in the educational institution, which do not contradict the principles of pedagogy, but supplement and promote the development of the process of education, are formulated. The preferences of students as for methods used during remote education are noted. Basic challenges for teachers, institutions, and students, provided by both synchronous and asynchronous modes of distance learning, are described.

The outbreak of second wave of COVID-19 pandemic has again halted routine life of normal citizen across the globe. The nature always support the change for better future and covid-19 has provide chance to change challenges into opportunities. This study is sought to examine post Covid-19 effects on ICT infrastructure for e-learning education and its quality assurance mechanism in SAARC countries. This research is descriptive in nature and use comparative analysis of numerous challenges faced by SAARC member countries for implementation of E-learning. Challenges and limitation are also brush-up for further refinement in future in these areas. Future researchers may conduct survey techniques in explanatory research on implementation of ICT infrastructure of SAARC region countries. SAARC member countries may take lead from this study to address challenges and their solutions for development and implementation of E-learning.

This research explores Pakistani newspapers Editorials’ lexical, morphological, and social aspects of the coronavirus Pandemic in Pakistan under the light of the Critical Discourse Analysis angle. The focal idea is to discover the etymological decision and rhetorical questions utilized in a revealing pandemic, and how did the columnists shape readers' minds and thoughts through their words. The CDA has been used as a theoretical framework for analyzing the data. Information for this examination includes 15 Editorial randomly gathered from 100 newspapers in Pakistan. Results demonstrated the exploitation of terminologies has been shown inconvenience, fear of contagious disease, death, fear of touching, and outbreak among people. The bogus information was additionally found in newspapers. Contradiction among newspapers was found while presenting data. This social change brings ultimately a linguistic change in the world. The English language is the language of overcoming gaps among nations, but this time it had correspondingly ushered in a new vocabulary to the general populace. For instance, new vocabulary, acronyms, synonyms, compounding, etc. Social change is parallel to linguistic change, and it is a paramount theme of lexicography. The local newspapers advocated a massive outbreak of the coronavirus and expected a second wave of this pandemic that was frustrating for the educational sector on top. The newspaper editors manipulate thoughts through forceful lexis usage to influence the thought, and opinions of Pakistani people.

The rapid shift to virtual teaching in response to the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in emergency remote teaching (ERT) and has highlighted the numerous multilevel challenges associated with it in the countries from the Global South. This chapter aims to explore how this shift to remote teaching has affected English language teachers' level of motivation and how they have adapted to it. In addition, this study offers quantitative and qualitative insights into the effectiveness of the resources employed by EFL/ESL teachers. This is done by analyzing the surveys of 34 teachers and interviews of four teachers from Uzbekistan and Pakistan. Through thematic analysis of the interviews, a detailed account of the challenging factors and their coping strategies were found. This chapter concludes with a discussion on the lessons learned and recommendations on how to make a relatively smoother transition to remote teaching.

This article is based on a Cross-Cultural Distance Learning (CCDL) model between university students in Korea and Japan during the 1st semester of 2016 and this lesson model consists of synchronous and asynchronous CMC activities focusing on the interactions between non-native speakers of English. This article shows that EFL learners in Korea can develop English language proficiency through this lesson model. The learners' development of English language proficiency was evaluated by using the TOEIC test as a proficiency test form. Also, this article proves that these kinds of CMC activities can motivate EFL learners to enhance cultural awareness for foreign countries and practice English inside and outside of the classroom. The questionnaire was used to survey the students' cultural awareness and attitude for this model at the final session of the semester.

Introduction. The relevance of the study is due to the need for the formation and development of listening and speaking skills, which are crucial for guides-translators who use English in work with foreign tourists and require constant improvement. It is the distance learning format that allows you to improve your professional language level. The purpose of the study is to develop a model for on-line teaching guides the English language employing Skype technologies. Methodology. The key research methods were the method of a needs analysis (questionnaires and interviews) and a pedagogical experiment. Questionnaires, interviews and testing allowed selecting the participants of the experiment who demonstrated high motivation to study online and confirmed their B1-B2 level of English. The experiment, which took place on the basis of the Moscow School of Tourism and Hospitality "Tour Center", involved two groups of 14 people each. Using a learner-centered approach we created a twelve-week Skype-based English course, which correlated with the professional training syllabus of the participants of the experiment. Results. The results of the final testing and interview showed that this technique with the use of Skype technologies is effective and contributes to the further formation and development of speaking and listening skills. The number of students experiencing difficulty demonstrating these skills decreased from 55% to 22% and 60% to 30%, respectively. In addition, the approbation of the developed model revealed the advantages and disadvantages of distance learning in general and Skype technologies in particular. Conclusion. The study showed the high efficiency of Skype-technologies in teaching English for special purposes as part of an additional educational course. The developed methodology can be used in the process of practice-oriented training aimed at forming the professional competencies of future specialists.

The article considers the peculiarities of providing English-language training of (future) aviation specialists for professional self-realization and performance of professional duties with the use of modern distance learning technologies. The specifics of distance learning are revealed. Terms and concepts, forms of learning are provided. Distance learning technologies, namely: psychological and pedagogical, information and communication, web-environment provide an opportunity to implement the process of distance learning in educational institutions. There are also two strategies for organizing distance learning: asynchronous distance learning and synchronous distance learning. During the planning and organization of distance learning a great role is given to the independent work of cadets. There are also IT elements that a lecturer and a cadet should be able to use in professional interaction. It is noted that Internet technologies, the ability to use Internet resources have a special place in the formation of professional self-realization of a future aviation specialist and providing innovative approaches to the educational environment. The main tasks of English language training in the educational language centers of the Flight Academy of NAU are: improving language skills and strengthening the communicative competence of the teacher / instructor to teach the professional disciplines in English, teaching professional English, preparation for the general English exam at level B2. The use of distance learning technologies in the English-language training of future aviation specialists requires a high level of knowledge, both theoretical and practical. It is necessary to interest and direct students to the use of innovative methods in order to build their professional capacity to use information and communication technologies in their further professional self-realization. The present study was conducted to explore the impact of distance learning on the professional development of prospective English teachers who applied for the TEFL programme designed and organized by Allama Iqbal Open University. The objective of the study was to investigate the impact of distance learning on the professional development of English teachers. Through stratified random sampling technique (30 males and 45 females) were selected as a sample. The questionnaire was developed to assess the impact of distance learning. Descriptive and inferential statistical analysis techniques were applied to analyze the data. The independent sample t-test and one-way ANOVA were used to analyze the demographic variables. The findings revealed that the majority of the participants were satisfied with the TEFL programme as it is catering to all the required learning needs of the teachers, and they were of the view that this programme has profound effects in terms of their professional development.
