The present study was conducted to explore the impact of distance learning on the professional development of prospective English teachers who applied for the TEFL programme designed and organized by Allama Iqbal Open University. The objective of the study was to investigate the impact of distance learning on the professional development of English teachers. Through stratified random sampling technique (30 males and 45 females) were selected as a sample. The questionnaire was developed to assess the impact of distance learning. Descriptive and inferential statistical analysis techniques were applied to analyze the data. The independent sample t-test and one-way ANOVA were used to analyze the demographic variables. The findings revealed that the majority of the participants were satisfied with the TEFL programme as it is catering to all the required learning needs of the teachers, and they were of the view that this programme has profound effects in terms of their professional development.

This article highlights how English language teachers professional development and training programmes fosters teachers’ professional competences in the teaching of the subject. English Language is vital in developing communication and social skills in learners as it does empower learners to compete favorably with their peers around the world. The ex-post factor approach of the survey design was adopted in the study. A random sampling technique was used to select twenty primary schools in Oyo state, Nigeria, with 168 English teachers who were currently undergoing the SUBEB/UBEC teacher professional development programme (2018). Two instruments: Teacher Teaching Competence Scale (TTCS) with Cronbach’s Alpha reliability coefficient of 0.68 and the Teachers Checklist Observation Scale (TCOS) with Scott Pi reliability coefficient of 0.71 were used for data collection. The data collection lasted for a period of fourteen weeks. Data collected were analysed using descriptive statistics and correlation at 0.05 level of significance. Results revealed that teacher’ attendance and exposure to a professional development and training programme; does enhance their professional teaching competences. It is therefore expedient that stakeholders in the education sector; especially governmental agencies, sponsor and encourage practicing primary teachers in attending and participating in professional development programmes; incentives should also be given to these teachers. This will go a long way at ensuring that these teachers look forward to attending such programmes at any time in the future

The study explores the impact of length of service and demographic variables on the organizational role stress on the public sector bank employees. The questionnaire employed in this study is Organisational Role Stress (ORS) scale developed by Prof. Udai Pareek (1983) where the length of service, gender, age, education, number of family members and income are independent variables and Organisational Role Stress (ORS) is the dependent variable. The sample for the study consist of 415 public sector bank employees. Simple random sampling is used as a sampling technique. Data were analyzed using Multiple Regression. The results revealed that length of service, age, education, and income significantly impact the organizational role stress (ORS) on the public sector bank employees.

This chapter presents the partnership between a university faculty member and an elementary school that started to address students' learning needs regarding mathematics. This chapter provides: a) an overview of learner-centered professional development as a framework for this Professional Development School partnership, b) a description of the various professional development activities, c) and a summary of the impact of the project on instruction and student achievement. The chapter closes with recommendations for establishing and maintaining PDS partnerships focused on addressing students' learning needs.

 Background: Increased use of tobacco and tobacco products result into increment of patients with oral cancer. Many people are still unaware of the consequences of chewing tobacco. Approximately 19% of participants had adequate knowledge of awareness, large number of participants, i.e., 73% had moderate knowledge of awareness and 8% of the participants had inadequate level of awareness about oral cancer. Methods and materials: Analytical cross-sectional research design was used for the study. Samples were selected by non-probability purposive sampling technique. Structured questionnaire was used to collect data from respondents. Frequencies, mean and standard deviations were used to describe the socio-demographic variables. Independent t-test and one-way ANOVA test were used to find the main difference of awareness scores by socio-demographic variables. Results: Among 90 participants, 18% had adequate level of awareness, 73% had moderate and 7.8% of participants had inadequate level of awareness regarding oral cancer. Conclusion: The study showed that awareness regarding oral cancer among the people of Biratnagar Metropolitan City is moderate. This was a qualitative study carried out in the context of 2013 National Teacher Training Program for Junior High School English Teachers in Chongqing China, intending to reveal the impact of the program on four in-service English teachers’ beliefs about self (i. e., about English teachers). Rich data were collected throughout the process of training which lasted for 100 days, including semi-structured interviews, teachers’ class analysis reports, professional development plans, periodic summaries and so on. The findings were interpreted with the help of the classification framework of teacher belief change proposed by Cabaroglu and Roberts, which showed that the impact of the program on these four in-service English teachers’ beliefs about English teachers’ roles, excellent English teachers and English teachers’ professional development was considerable, however, the degree, the nature and the sources of the impact varied across individual teachers.

<p class="AbstractText">This study is aimed at exploring the voices of English teachers and students of a state senior high school towards the National Exam policy and its implementation in Indonesia. Several theories of psychology and language learning were applied in this study as the theoretical framework. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. The participants were chosen by purposive sampling technique. The data for this study were garnered through a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) conducted to the selected twelfth-grade students and semi-structured interviews done to two English teachers. Both data were analyzed descriptively. Upon the analysis, two paramount themes prevailed: (1) the negative response towards the implementation and accuracy of National Exam (NE) policy in Indonesia; and (2) unintended impacts of NE policy on teaching and learning activity, students’ motivation, and English Language Learning and Curriculum. This study offers information for the government as the policymaker, school leaders, teachers, and researchers to understand how the NE is implemented at the school level.</p>


MSME play a vital in the economical progress of the Countries, so the implementation of GST has had an immense outcome on the continued existence in the market. Some enterprises found it helpful however majority visage problem in adopting it. For existing enterprises, GST simplified the tax structure, unified the market thus improved among all operational efficiencies of MSME, to this point the unorganized MSMEs were growing quick than the organized ones as a result of the minimization, with GST in effect, it has made the taxation system transparent thus making the entities liable for tax payment. This paper brought out issues and challenges experienced by MSME Entrepreneur. In order to find out the impact on various aspect such as applying of GST, created the registration for taxation and High Compliance burden by using Cluster Random Sampling Technique in which 158 MSME Entrepreneur were selected in Sivaganga District in Tamil Nadu for the study. The statistical tools used for the analysis is one-way ANOVA. ANOVA is used to identify the significance of the difference in the levels of impact of GST among MSMEs. It was concluded that the impact of GST on the Indian MSME sector can go both positive and negative ways
