Summary In this paper, we aim to identify discretization errors caused by non-K-orthogonal grids upfront through simple preprocessing tools and perform a comparative study of a set of representative, state-of-the-art, consistent discretizations [multipoint flux approximation (MPFA-O), mimetic finite difference (MFD), nonlinear two-pointflux approximation (NTPFA, TPFA), and average multipoint flux approximation (AvgMPFA)] to select the method most suited for inclusion in a commercial reservoir simulator. To predict the potential impact of discretization errors, we propose two types of error indicators. Static indicators measure the degree of nonconsistency of the two-point method at a cell level, and dynamic indicators measure how local discretization errors affect flow paths. The latter are computed using a series of idealized tracer simulations. By changing monitoring and injection points, one can mimic the reservoir-development strategy and thus focus on the errors introduced on quantities of real interest. To assess the practical usability of various consistent methods and validate our new error indicators, we use a set of representative grid models generated by contemporary commercial tools, for which we discuss static error indicators and compare tracer responses for the various discretization methods. We also compare degrees of freedom, sparsity, and the condition number of the alternative methods and discuss challenges related to their practical implementation. Our results indicate that tracer simulations constitute an efficient tool to identify and classify discretization errors and quantify their potential impact. We observe distinctively different behavior with the inconsistent two-point method and the consistent methods, which agree closely in terms of accuracy of the response. We also note a deficiency in the commercial realization of so-called Depogrids, which can result in unnecessarily complicated polytopal cells with hundreds of faces. Our overall conclusion is that NTPFA and AvgMPFA are the most viable solutions for integration into a commercial simulator, with the linear AvgMPFA method being the least invasive.

The purpose of the article is to determine the conceptual fundamentals of modern sport system in the Strategy for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports in our country for the period until 2030, using the analysis of the fundamental changes in modern sports and the orientation of population to the values of sports. Methods and organization of the research. Analysis of the problem occurs on basis of the au-thor’s theory of sports, the study of relevant empirical facts, the results of sociological studies, as well as an analytical review of publications. Results and discussion. Analysis of the fundamental changes in modern sports and the orienta-tion of the population to the values of sport activities resulted in substantiation of conceptual provisions on the significance of the number of activities. These activities include development of various models of modern sports; priority of its health and recreational function; organizing sports for health and recreation as a new model of mass sports and as an element of the structure of children and youth sports; implementing sports for health and recreation into the education system for children and youth. Conclusion. Practical implementation of the formulated conceptual fundamentals of the modern sport system in the Strategy for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports for the period until 2030 primarily depends on changing the priorities of the state social policy in the field of sports. Innovative delivery of sport activities resulted in promotion of healthy lifestyle and crea-tive recreational activities of local communities should take the place of the practice of putting forward sports records and victories of a narrow group of people.

The most important task of the successful development and implementation of the regional development strategy is the adoption and implementation of well-grounded and timely management decisions aimed at increasing the attractiveness of the territory for target audiences. One of the directions of this realization is the creation and development of the competitive advantages of a particular territory. The steps taken in this direction in the regions of Ukraine are of a non-systemic nature and, as a rule, do not solve the problem comprehensively. This is due to the lack of both theoretical groundwork, on the basis of which it would be possible to develop a comprehensive strategy for the region, and an effective toolkit that ensures the systematic participation of stakeholders in the development and implementation of such a strategy. An important research topic is the consistency of the selected priorities with the goals of sustainable development, corresponding innovations within the framework of technological progress, which makes it relevant to use marketing tools to expand the analytical and communication tools of smart specialization. The purpose of this study is to analyze the possibilities of using strategic marketing for smart specialization tasks. Strategic marketing must be seen in the context of smart specialization, which is an innovative approach aimed at stimulating growth and job creation, allowing regions to define and develop their own competitive advantages. In the context of the practical implementation of the components of smart specialization as a process, strategic marketing can be considered as an active process with a long-term orientation, aimed at exceeding the average indicators in other regions by systematically pursuing a policy of creating a system of solutions that ensure the satisfaction of the needs of (current and prospective) stakeholders (current and potential) territories in a more efficient way than is possible in other regions. In the course of the study, it was determined that strategic marketing in the context of the practical implementation of smart specialization should be considered as a process of planning, developing and implementing strategic steps to gain a competitive advantage in selected areas. This process is necessary to map out the main goals of the region and find the most effective ways to achieve them.

A high-fidelity cargo airdrop simulation requires the accurate modeling of the contact dynamics between an aircraft and its cargo. This paper presents a general and efficient contact-friction model for the simulation of aircraft-cargo coupling dynamics during an airdrop extraction phase. The proposed approach has the same essence as the finite element node-to-segment contact formulation, which leads to a flexible, straightforward, and efficient code implementation. The formulation is developed under an arbitrary moving frame with both aircraft and cargo treated as general six degrees-of-freedom rigid bodies, thus eliminating the restrictions of lateral symmetric assumptions in most existing methods. Moreover, the aircraft-cargo coupling algorithm is discussed in detail, and some practical implementation details are presented. The accuracy and capability of the present method are demonstrated through four numerical examples with increasing complexity and fidelity.

Parallel robots find many applications in human-systems interaction, medical robots, rehabilitation, exoskeletons, to name a few. These applications are characterized by many imperatives, with robust precision and dynamic workspace computation as the two ultimate ones. This paper presents kinematic analysis, workspace, design and control to 3 degrees of freedom (DOF) parallel robots. Parallel robots have received considerable attention from both researchers and manufacturers over the past years because of their potential for high stiffness, low inertia and high speed capability. Therefore, the 3 DOF translation parallel robots provide high potential and good prospects for their practical implementation in human-systems interaction.

Sustainable development of the Stebnyk Mining Industrial Area (MIA) is fully consistent with the goal of the National Program for the Development of the Mineral Resources of Ukraine until 2030. It is the ensuring the urgent needs for mineral resources without the risk of depriving future generations of their needs (On Approval of the National Program…, 2011). The triune concept of sustainable development is based on the economic, environmental and social components. For practical implementation of the sustainable development strategy of Stebnyk MIA, it is expedient to design, create and operate the Stebnyk natural and man-made geopark based on the blighty (Zinko, Shevchuk, 2011; Mokryi et al., 2017) and European (Alexandrowicz., 2006) experience. Expert assessments of the environment indicate the need to use information and analytical technologies in the management, modeling, and design of environmental safety Stebnyk MIA.

Five degrees-of-freedom (DOF) motion errors of an ultra precision feed table were measured in this study. The laser interferometer was used to measure the yaw and pitch errors and the reversal method was used for the roll error measurement. The linear motion errors in the vertical and horizontal directions were measured using the sequential two point method. The influence of angular motion errors on the linear motion errors while applying the sequential two point method was compensated with the data from the laser interferometer and the reversal method. Capacitive type sensors and an optical straight edge were used while applying the reversal method and the sequential two point method. To demonstrate the effectiveness of our measuring scheme for the ultra precision feed tables, five DOF motion errors of a hydrostatic table driven by a linear motor were measured and presented. From the measured repeatabilities of 5 DOF error motions, it was estimated that the measuring accuracies were ±0.02 μm for the horizontal and vertical linear motion, ±0.04 arcsec for yaw motion, ±0.05 arcsec for pitch motion and ±0.02 arcsec for roll motion.
