Systematization literary sources and approaches for solving the problem of ecologists of «smart» city indicates that among factors that probably can affect the innovativeness of Ukrainian providers of urban public transport services have been used environmental factor, marketing expenses, financial potential, wear rate, level of quality of service, level of management skills, market share, tariff for passenger transportation. The purpose of the study is to identify the ways to improve the innovativeness of urban public transport service providers of the regional centres of Ukraine. The main aim of the research is to estimate the impact of several factor variables on the resulting attribute used multivariate regression analysis, which provided an adequate model. A significant contribution to the development of the theory and methodology of management of urban public transport enterprises were made by Nunes, Krasnyanskiy, Umpleby, Walters, Huang, Morchadze. The results of the evaluation of the innovativeness of Ukrainian providers of urban public transport services carried out based on the mathematical multifactor model are presented in the article. In January-March 2018, the authors initiated a study on the current state of urban public transport in regional Ukrainian cities. Methodological tools of the research were multivariate correlation-regression analysis and survey (the requests for public information were submitted by the Law of Ukraine «On Access to Public Information» to all city councils of Ukraine's regions except temporarily occupied territories). The study included a survey of 20 experts (marketers and experienced managers of transport companies) to determine weighting factors and the level of innovativeness through questionnaires. The expert evaluation was carried out using the marks method. The research has shown that the size of the innovativeness of providers of public transport services can be successfully interpreted through functional and statistical dependencies, which reflect the general and individual laws of the development of such entities using multi-factor mathematical models. The econometric model was tested for the adequacy with the Fisher criterion and the presence of autocorrelation. The research empirically confirms and theoretically proves thatsuch controllable factors are an environmental factor, financial potential, level of quality of service, level of management skills, the tariff for passenger transportation. The model can be used to predict the influence of controllable factors at the level of the innovativeness of providers of urban public transport services. The results of the research can be useful for scientific and practical workers, teachers, students of higher educational establishments. Keywords: econometric model, factors of innovativeness, innovativeness, urban transport, ecologists.

The subject of the study is the formulation of strategic measures to improve the quality of public transport services. The goal is to justify a set of strategic measures aimed at improving the quality of public transport services. To achieve this goal, the following research objectives have been identified and solved: to establish the specifics and principles of effective strategic planning for urban transport services provision; to identify the features of urban transport services system; to identify the main measures for urban public transport services development, in particular, for the city of Kyiv. To achieve the goal of the study, a set of system theory methodologies has been selected. In modern science, this approach is considered to be the most productive and capable of providing a high degree of verification of the results obtained. As a result of the study: 1) a complex of strategic measures is substantiated, aimed at improving the quality of public transport services, namely: optimization of modal transportation; integration of modal transportation; optimization of road space; increasing the bus fleet; improving bus design and increasing the comfort in passenger compartments; selection of fare forms; development of information systems of interaction; compliance with the Traffic Laws and passenger transportation rules; increase of internal efficiency of transport operators’ activities; use of information technologies; increase of transport operators’ incomes; 2) the specifics and principles of effective strategic planning for urban transport services provision are established. They consist in applying an iterative approach to strategic planning. Its advantages are due to simultaneous execution of any strategic planning work (from writing the following elements of the strategic plan to the fulfilment of its objectives) with continuous analysis of results obtained, which makes it possible to adjust the works according to the changing environment conditions; 3) the features of the urban transport service systems are revealed, namely: urban public transport systems are complex open dynamic socio-economic systems. We consider multimodality of external environments, multifactoriality of external influences, presence of internal imbalances in systems as one of the main reasons for their unsatisfactory state. Therefore, a multifaceted approach is needed, which takes into account the maximum number of factors and combines a range of measures to improve the quality of urban passenger transportation; 4) the main measures for the development of urban public transport services, in particular, for the city of Kyiv, are identified, namely: ensuring multimodal public access to public transport stations and public places; organization of information and communication interaction between all elements of the passenger transportation system; use of various forms of urban public transport fare; mathematical modelling of integration interaction of different types of public transport.

Introduction. Such variables as number of employees in marketing of organisation, value of marketing expenses, cost on innovation, the number of marketing staff, the share of marketing efforts which is undertaken in cooperation with the city council and different non-profit organizations, the marketing costs, the level of satisfaction of marketers, level of marketing potential, level of innovation potential are considered in this research. They are marketing factors that can affect the level of social impact of Ukrainian providers of urban public transport services. Purpose. The article aims to obtain the adequate econometric model which can demonstrate the relationship between marketing factors, innovation development and the non-economic effect of business entities which provide the urban public transport services. Method (methodology). The results of evaluation of social effect of Ukrainian providers of urban public transport services are evaluated on the basis of mathematical multifactor model. They are presented in the article. Results. The adequate econometric model has been worked out in this research. This model shows the relationship between controllable marketing factors and social effect has been presented in the article. We have determined the controllable marketing factors. They are number of employees and volunteers in marketing, the average monthly wage of employees in marketing, satisfaction of volunteers, total current assets of an organization, and the level of marketing potential. The model can be used to predict the level of social (ecological) impact of providers of urban public transport services in the Ukrainian society.

Abstract In this article the authors present the methodology adopted and the results obtained in the first stage of the research encompassing focus group interviews (FGI) about the needs of public transport users in a selected city (Poznań). The elicitation and assessment of the requirements were carried out for three groups of people with disabilities using public transport in the city of Poznań: blind and partially sighted people, deaf and hearing-impaired people, as well as people with locomotor dysfunctions. A study carried out on the basis of a scenario especially designed for the FGI purpose has made it possible to identify barriers for people with disabilities and, consequently, to formulate their pre-trip,on-trip and post-trip requirements when it comes to urban public transport services. The results will be used to construct a questionnaire to be used further on in the project.

The paper presents the possibility, necessity, ideology and essence of the entropy method of estimating the orderliness of the transportation process in relation to urban public transport. Examples of numerical definition of the relative entropy of the transportation process on typical public transport routes are given. The paper shows that the level of orderliness of the transportation process, identified by relative entropy, is determined by the specifics of the spatial location of public transport routes in terms of the urban area and mainly depends on the quality of users of public transport services.

AbstractIn this article, we compare the solutions which the largest Polish cities apply to effectively manage and administer public urban transport. We pay attention to the legal, administrative, and political limitations of current activities; we also analyse public transport strategies in terms of plans for the future. We state that large Polish cities prefer to entrust public transport services to fully dependent companies, do not seek to diversify service providers and do not allow the coexistence of public and private operators. Our research is the first comparative study which has used the eleven largest Polish cities as a research sample. Its results are important not only for decision-makers, but also for entrepreneurs in the transport industry. Not only does our analysis prove that, currently, urban transport in the largest Polish cities is carried out mostly by companies which fully belong to cities, but also that the future strategies of the target state will not be determined by political decision makers at all, or no significant changes are foreseen. In the largest Polish cities in the future, the tramway sector will be fully controlled by municipal companies; in the bus transport sector, private carriers will be able to count on a maximum of 20–30% share of transport work while the railway sector will remain under the control of regional administration, not local urban administration.

Flood disaster in the urban area can have an impact on the transport of people, goods, and animals. It will certainly result in the disruption of public transportation activities because the road and utilities are probably cannot be passed by vehicles. The objective of the research is to contribute to the analytical basis related to urban public transport services resilience evaluation during the flood. The simulation model is based on the assumption that the primary objective of an urban public transport service during a flood disaster is to continue serving passengers on a predefined service corridor. An example of the application and analysis of this simulation model, simulated for three floods condition, i.e. the first is a high flood prediction that may occur in Padang city (based on The Padang City Development Planning document) and two floods that hit in the year 2016 and 2017. These simulations showed that urban public transport service in Padang city is relatively vulnerable to flood disaster. Lesson learned here have implication for urban public transport services. An interesting outcome of this simulation model has obtained the deviation of urban public transport service route during the flood. There are many parameters that affect the resilience of urban public transport services in the face of floods, and these parameters could be a topic for future research

Many cities in developing countries are facing challenges of providing quality public transport facilities to the public. The demand-responsive transport (DRT) initiatives in some cities have helped in providing transportation alternatives to the travelers, and in filling the gap between demand and supply. Recently introduced DRT initiatives in Lahore included the mobile app-based Airlift and Swvl bus services. This article is aimed at evaluating the travelers’ attitudes toward mobile application (app)–based DRT services in Lahore with the help of a questionnaire survey. A questionnaire was designed consisting of travelers’ personal and travel information and their perceptions on selected attributes of Airlift and Swvl bus services. A total of 440 samples were collected through interviews. An exploratory factor analysis (EFA) revealed three factors of service quality, that is, Accessibility and Scheduling Attributes (ASA), Instrumental Attributes (IA), and Service Attraction Attributes (SAA). The results of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) showed that the ASA, IA, and SAA are significant determinants of travelers’ attitudes toward the existence of Airlift and Swvl bus services in Lahore. These factors have strong correlations with travelers’ intentions to use Airlift and Swvl services in the future. The waiting time at a stop, travelers’ income, vehicle ownership, trip purpose, and profession are also significant in determining the travelers’ attitudes and preferences with app-based public transport services. These findings would be helpful for the service providers and transport planners for making appropriate policies to improve the quality of these services.
