Abstract Over the past decade, a body of scholarship on civilian self-protection (CSP) has emerged, advancing understandings of civilian agency in war. In this article, we argue that CSP has been conceptualized in a narrow manner, reflecting the nascent status of the field. Scholars have focused on responses to threats directly related to the dynamics of conflict, physical in nature, and caused by the presence of armed groups. Using the case study of the Protection of Civilians (PoC) sites in South Sudan and drawing on over 150 interviews, we identify one type of protective response neglected in the literature: community and popular justice. Although the PoC sites provide a measure of protection, residents face a range of daily threats that are indirectly related to the conflict, such as crime. In this context, community justice emerged as a natural response, an overlooked yet vital form of CSP that addresses immediate protection needs and fulfills a social ordering function. By conceiving of justice in this way, this article aims to deepen understanding of civilian agency and start a conversation with scholars and practitioners about the boundaries of (self) protection.

The current study aimed to develop a mobile application based on video modeling to improve and enhance self-protection skills for children with autism. Semi-experimental design of the two groups was adopted: the control, which received the self-protection skills in the traditional way, while these skills was provided to the experimental group through the application based on video modeling. The research sample was consisted of 16 students who met the criteria. The researcher was applied the self-protection skills scale on the sample. After the experiment was applied for five weeks, the data were analyzed statistically. The results showed the effectiveness of the application in the development of self-protection skills for autistic children. The researcher recommended the use of the preferences of children with autism and the use of applications that based on video modeling in their education.

Welding worker was not the easy task because it has a very high physical risk and the process requires special skills and equipment to prevent accident exposed. This devotional activity is carried out in the welding industry at Jl. Mahkamah with two partners, namely CV. M. Nauli and CV. Cahaya. The aim of training activity made the worker able to analyze the hazards in the workplace so that it will be more careful in their work. The result show that the training could develop the worker to be aware about safety and health work patterns. In order to support the work in accordance with occupational safety and health standards, workers are also given pocket books that contain safety and health working methods and also given the self-protection of welding like welding clothes, welding gloves, welding mask, welding glasses and masks. Based on the evaluation of activities, it show that the worker has develop and always using the self protector in their work evenly. It build the good collaboration between them and they are could arrage the rest time with ergonomics relaxation in 5-10 minutes. The workshop station looks better than before and the workshop doing good house keeping before and after their work.

When a Notary violates this article while doing his or her job duties, it qualifies as an act without authority. As a consequence of such an act without authority, someone who is harmed by a Notary who has declared his position without authority can sue for civil damages and compensation to the Notary Public. However, other forms of protection can be carried out and developed by the notary himself, namely by including the Self-Protection Clause in the deed made before the Notary Public. or when at the request of the parties making Legalization, Waarmerking, Adjustment / Matching of the Copy with the Original and Kovernot. Such a Notary Self-protection is very important for the notary so that no one quickly questions the notary's deed of Legalization, Waarmerking, Adjustment / Matching of Copies with the Original and Kovernot. So the notary is obliged to protect himself.

This paper aims to demonstrate the self-protection and self-sensing functionalities of self-compacted concrete (SCC) containing carbon nanotubes (CNT) and carbon microfibers (CMF) in a hybrid system. The ability for self-sensing at room temperature and that of self-protection after thermal fatigue cycles is evaluated. A binder containing a high volume of supplementary mineral additions (30%BFSand20%FA) and different type of aggregates (basalt, limestone, and clinker) are used. The self-diagnosis is assessed measuring electrical resistivity (ER) and piezoresistivity (PZR) in compression mode within the elastic region of the concrete. Thermal fatigue is evaluated with mechanical and crack measurements after heat cycles (290–550 °C). SCC withstands high temperature cycles. The protective effect of the hybrid additive (CNT+CMF) notably diminishes damage by keepinghigher residual strength and lessmicrocracking of the concrete. Significant reductions in ER are detected. The self-diagnosis ability of functionalized SCC isconfirmed with PZR. A content of the hybrid functional additive (CNT+CMF) in the percolation region is recommended to maximize the self-sensing sensitivity. Other parameters as sample geometry, sensor location, power supply, and load level have less influence.
