The study assessed carbonated and healthy drinks consumption pattern of the undergraduate students of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), IIe –  Ife, Nigeria. Random sampling technique was employed in this study. The study relied on primary data which was collected through questionnaires. Data collected were analyzed using mean and percentages. The total number of respondents was 260 undergraduate students, which comprised 102 males and 158 females. Majority (47.3%) of the respondents were between 17 – 20 years old and were single. It was indicated that majority (49.6%) of the respondents has less than N10,000 as income level from their monthly stipend. The result indicated that the carbonated drinks that the students consume the most were Fanta and Coke. Majority (38.5%) of the respondents consume fruit smoothies while they sometimes (38.8%) consume zobo drink. The result also reveals that zobo drink has the highest percentage (76.2%) of consumption than other healthy drinks. The major factors influencing healthy drinks consumption based on individual perceptions were taste (40.4%), price (38.9%), preferences (36.2%), and  nutritional benefit (35.0%) while price (36.5%), taste (35.8%), preferences (33.5%) and availability on campus (31.5%) were the major factors influencing carbonated drinks consumption based on individual perceptions. It is therefore recommended that the Federal and State Government should ensure proper health education of undergraduates regarding the nutritional benefits of healthy drinks as well as the adverse effects of  carbonated drinks. Keywords: carbonated drinks, healthy drinks, consumption pattern, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU)

AbstractBackgroundVirtual reality (VR)–based rehabilitation is gaining attention as a way to promote early mobilization in patients with acute stroke. However, given the motor weakness and cognitive impairment associated with acute stroke, implementation strategies for overcoming patient-perceived difficulty need to be developed to enhance their motivation for training.ObjectiveThe purpose of this study was to explore patient-perceived difficulty and enjoyment during VR-based rehabilitation and the factors affecting those experiences.DesignAn exploratory mixed-method design was used in this study.MethodsEight individuals with acute stroke participated in 2 training modes of VR-based rehabilitation (ie, workout and game modes) 20 to 30 minutes per day for 5 to 8 sessions. A visual analog scale was used to assess patient-perceived difficulty and enjoyment at every session. Then semistructured interviews were conducted to explore the factors affecting those experiences.ResultsLevels of difficulty and enjoyment varied depending on the training mode and participants' phases of recovery. Five major factors were identified as affecting those varied experiences: (1) ease of following the directions, (2) experience of pain, (3) scores achieved, (4) novelty and immediate feedback, and (5) self-perceived effectiveness.ConclusionsLevels of difficulty and enjoyment during VR-based rehabilitation differed depending on the phases of recovery and training mode. Therefore, graded implementation strategies for VR-based rehabilitation are necessary for overcoming patient-perceived difficulty and enhancing enjoyment. Ease of following the directions might be best considered in the very early stage, whereas multisensory feedback may be more necessary in the later stage. Health professionals also should find a way for patients to avoid pain during training. Feedback, such as knowledge of results and performance, should be used appropriately.

Nowadays, layer based rapid prototyping (RP) technologies have been used not only to make product prototypes but also to manufacture small batch functional parts. For RP parts fabrication, build directions play an important role. There were many reports about optimal build directions for RP part fabrication, yet factors influencing build directions of mechanism joint have not been studied. This paper will look into the factors affecting build directions of mechanisms. A slider-crank mechanism is used as an example as it is the fundamental mechanism for many machine designs. Apart from factors affecting mechanism build directions, guidelines for mechanism joint design are also discussed.

The majority of soybean supply is fulfilled by importation and the import of soybean tends to increase. The dependency of Indonesia on imported soybean indeed becomes a serious issue in maintaining food security and local production of soybean is low and quite decreasing. The low domestic soybean production might be caused by the inappropriate used of inputs. Many cases found in the field are the inefficient uses of input factors. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors influencing the soybean production and to analyze the optimal level of input use in soybean production. The study was conducted in the Sukahurip Village, Pangatikan Sub-District, Garut District, West Java in July 2018. The research method used was a survey method. The data used consisted of primary and secondary data. Primary data were obtained from samples of soybean farmers and samples of farmers were taken by a simple random sampling. The data were analyzed by Cobb Douglass`s Production function (to analyze factors affecting soybean production) and the NPM that was equal to BKM formula was used to determine the optimal level of inputs use. Factors influencing soybean production are land and seeds. Land use, seeds, and ZA fertilizer have not been used efficiently because of the limited land use and the use of substandard inputs. The addition of inputs to the optimal level is 1.36 hectares of land use and 52.7 kg of seeds that will maximize the profits. Keywords: efficiency, input, optimal, production, soybean
