This study discusses the phases that human beings must go through to achieve a noble degree in the sight of God. In Sufism, this topic is known as maqamat and ahwal. Maqamat is the spiritual position, that is, the existence of a person in the way of Allah by trying to practice the deeds to be closer to Allah. While ahwal is a condition or spiritual circumstance within heart bestowed by God because of the intensity of the dhikr (remembering God). To reach the highest level (ma'rifatullah), it can not be reached in a way that is easy and short time. Man must try to empty himself from sin and fill it with good deeds. For only with a holy soul, God gives much of His knowledge. This paper aims to describe and analyze the stages of human spirituality in the book of a classic Sufi figure, Abu Nasr Al-Sarraj. Through inner experience, Sarraj formulated the concept of being close to God. This thought is based on the social conditions of society at that time concerning with material matters rather than spiritual ones. Therefore, the question is how the spiritual phases should be achieved by Al-Sarraj? To answer this question, the researcher uses a qualitative method by examining the text and analyzing it to find the sequences of phases. The result of this research is that Al Sarraj formulates 7 levels of maqam and 9 levels ahwal. Humans who can run the phase are classified into Insan Kamil (perfect human) because there is no distance between him and God.

I have never been convinced of the Marxian belief that thought is the outcome of social conditions, particularly the modes of production and exchange. It seems to me that the opposite is more nearly true, that the social substance in any given age is primarily defined by its climate of ideas, its philosophical worldview, if you will. The structures of society derive their being as well as their significance from the prevailing philosophy; truth is always a function of a state of consciousness, of the way we view things.

Culture is the values that constitute the unity of life, thought and belief that a society creates in the historical and social development process. These values, which determine the lifestyle of a nation, people and society, have been passed down from generation to generation. The unique life models, art, morality, laws and order of the society determine the culture of that society and shape the daily lives of the people who make up the society. When the social structure and life of different nations are examined, it is noteworthy that the cultures differ significantly and diverge from each other. While human beings adapt to all kinds of changes with the instinct of survival, they consciously or unconsciously keep pace with their social life in order to continue their social life within the changing cultural structure. Fikret Mualla, a Turkish painter, was born in 1903, until his mid-thirties naturally lived and produced works by being influenced by Turkish culture and society. Although he went abroad for a short time many times during this period, he went to Paris in 1939 and lived there for twenty-six years. During this long period, his art, like himself, was influenced by the culture he lived in, and he reflected the daily life in Paris and artistic expression forms on his works. Cafes, circuses and streets in Paris have become the main subject of the artist's works. To analyze the effects of contemporary life in the context of cultural change through artists and works of art; It is aimed to contribute to the relevant literature by examining the changes brought by the French culture and life in Fikret Mualla's works. In addition, it is aimed to examine how the cultural difference affects the works of the artist in question in terms of subject and technique. Qualitative research methods and techniques were used in the study in which general scanning model was used. Keywords: Culture, Turkish Art, Fikret Mualla

The present study is meant to underline the importance of a famous work from the baroque period, Las Meninas, made by the painter Diego de Silva y Velásquez who has become a source of inspiration for future generations of artists. Numerous modern and contemporary artists have integrally or partially ”paraphrased” Velásquez’s composition by intercepting the portrait of revolutionary group for the time when it was created, extremely innovative regarding its compositional qualities and its hidden meanings which underlined the role and status of the artist in the context of a conservative society. Thus, the painting becomes the living proof of the way in which the artist manages to overcome the limitations of the social status of ordinary human beings, by portraying himself as a close friend of the royal family and by opening, through this type of representation, an important chapter in the history of portraiture.

Abstract This text describes the connection between the social sciences and contextual theology. The social sciences investigate the way people relate in society via various institutions and structures, which facilitate relationships in the economic, cultural and political spheres. The social sciences also investigate the way human beings relate to nature for two reasons, namely to defend themselves against the power of nature, and also to enable them to benefit from nature. Systematic theology studies the relationship between God and humanity in light of revelation and faith. Contextual theology investigates to what extent human institutions and structures, interpersonal relationships and the relationship between humanity and nature, become a help or a hindrance to expressing faith in the Lord, and to listening to what is said by God in God’s revelation to humankind. Keywords: Social Sciences, Contextual Theology, Society, People, Institution, Humanity, Relationship, Lord, Structures.

Durkheim dismissed “intention” and “motives” from his conceptual framework in his effort to analyze suicide as a social fact He also rejected psychopathic states, heredity, and other “extra-social” factors as possible causes of suicide on the basis of statistical information available to him. This paper examines the way in which Durkheim worked out his position on the social conditions he regarded as responsible for suicide, and discusses some of the major problems involved. It is argued that Durkheim did not achieve the consistent position for which he strived, and that his methods did not always parallel his views on the use of “intention.”

Social media influencers are people who have established a reputation for themselves on social media. Nowadays, a social media influencer has played the important role of a marketing tool for organizations. Organizations use the power of social media influencers to influence and persuade consumers through social media. It is because social media influencers have a huge number of followers in their social media, thus, social media influencers could promote and reach a large number of consumers in a short time. The result is more effective than celebrity endorsement for small-and-medium-sized enterprises (SME). This research is to study the perceptions of emerging adults on the difference between male and female social media influencers’ style of promotion.
