The difficulty of learning to count for Mentally Disabled Students (MDS) is not only because their intelligence is below the average of regular students and difficult to concentrate, but also because the material presented is less exciting and theoretical. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of the snake and ladder mobile game on the ability and speed of counting mentally disabled students in the process of count-learning. Data collection techniques in this study were interviews with teachers, User Accepted Test (UAT) questionnaires for measuring games, and research instruments in the form of summation essay questions. The research method used is an experiment with a one-group pre-test and post-test. The research subjects are four mentally disabled students at Pelita Hati Special School (SLB PH). Data analysis compares the score acquisition, the time it takes students to work on the questions during the pre-test and post-test, and UAT data analysis. The Results showed that this game made MDS interested in count-learning, improving learning outcomes, and increasing students' speed in learning counting at SLB PH compared with before playing this educational-game. Thus, the snake and ladder educational mobile game positively influences the count learning process of MDS.

Following the deaths of fourteen children at a children’s residential facility in Froissy in November 1968, a moment of national interest in France in the challenges facing disabled children led parents’ associations to press for systemic reform. Concomitantly, social critiques following the protests of May 1968 focused on poor institutional conditions as evidence of society’s failures. Though government inquiry into the incident placed the blame on the proprietors, media reports and advocates asserted the failure of the French government to protect the disabled. This viewpoint aligned with the rhetoric of reformers seeking to dismantle institutions to instigate social change. However, an alliance of reformers and parents’ groups did not materialize, even after the important reforms of the law of 30 June 1975. That law articulated the government’s commitment to the equality of disabled citizens, but it had limited impact due to its failure to address conditions for the mentally disabled.

Objective: The development of psychomotor skills in individuals with mental disabilities progresses more slowly than their healthy peers. Therefore, it is very important for individuals with mental disabilities to do activities for the development of psychomotor skills. This study aims to examine the effects of hippotherapy training on balance and coordination skills in children with moderate and severe mental disabilities. Materials and Methods: 40 students with moderate and severe mental disabilities, between the ages of 14-20, who continue their education in Erzurum Special Education Practice School, 3rd Grade, participated in the study. The participants were divided into two groups of 20 people as the hippotherapy group (HG) and the control group (CG). Before starting the study, the height and age of all students were recorded, and their body weights were measured with digital scales. Flamingo balance test to measure balance skills, balance board test, touch test to measure coordination skills, T agility test, and Illinois agility test and sit-and-reach test for flexibility skills were applied as a pre-test to the individuals. After the pre-tests were completed, 20 subjects in the hippotherapy group participated in the 20-minute hippotherapy training twice a week for 8 weeks at Atatürk University Hippotherapy and Olympic Equestrian Facilities. The control group did not participate in any application. The final tests of the subjects were carried out in the week after the hippotherapy training was completed. Results: After eight weeks of hippotherapy, there was no significant change in the body composition of the subjects in moderate and severe levels in the hippotherapy group, yet positive significant changes were determined in balance, coordination, and flexibility skills. No significant changes occurred in the subjects in the control group.
