This chapter discusses the issues of customers´ satisfaction and needs, in terms of information, as a basis for the practice of marketing in information management. It underlines the arguments of the relationship between Marketing and information science. The main idea is that Marketing practice cannot occur without information about customers and to customers. This way, the relationship of marketing to information management, in information science, is emphasized. Likewise, the importance of the studies and research on Marketing of information, as philosophical approach of the information management process, is highlighted. The structure of the chapter synthesizes the existing academic work while seeking to generate new knowledge. Moreover, it presents the promotion and communication of information in organizations from the evolution of the concept of Marketing, in an integrated manner. Finally, the implications for future research are advanced.

Due to the fast pace of life, new factors may affect the flow of project management processes from initiation to the closing of a project. Examples of these factors are the onset of new technology, the emergence of new competitors, and the need for quality improvement. As a result, an implementation of change management is key to overcoming the detriments of these new factors. During the time of implementing change management, a certain level of communication management must be involved. So, it is important to find the relationship and impact of communication on change management. This study will use the PMI 2013 body of knowledge book to ensure that the change management process includes the planning, managing, and controlling of phases of communication in the change processes.

Simply equating treaties with conflict management success distorts a more complex relationship. The relationship of treaties to conflict management depends fundamentally on the kinds of treaties involved and where they occur in the life cycle of rivalries. This paper explores these issues and analyzes how treaties might be understood in the conflict-management process of enduring rivalries. In our conception, two basic categories of treaties play roles relevant to the conflict management of rivalries: security treaties and functional treaties. Security treaties are agreements between rivals that address specifically the issues at stake in the rivalry, or are military-related agreements involving arms control and the like. Functional treaties deal with non-security issues such as trade, the environment, and other matters. We propose that these two kinds of treaties play different roles in the conflict-management process, functioning as independent or dependent variables in the analyses of conflict-management success depending on their type and the life cycle of the rivalry. Our analysis of treaties flows from our punctuated equilibrium model of rivalries and decision-making.

This paper addresses the typical functions and organization of a revitalization project for any cruise ship company including the general corporate requirements that define the project. The role of the Revitalization management team and the relationship of this group to the corporate organization, vendor base and shipyards is explained. The paper focuses on the process of revitalizing a modern cruise vessel that has been in service for many years. The organization and the functions of the management team are provided along with the interfaces and roles of the shipboard personnel. Typical inspection requirements and inspection processes are discussed. The paper illuminates the requirements of the revitalization process from inception up to and including re-delivery.

Previous research links religiosity/spirituality with a wide variety of organizational functions and practices, and, in particular, with management processes and leadership practices. Building on Huber’s concept of the centrality of religiosity, we propose that religiosity can also affect career choice and development—in particular, work orientation styles and work engagement. We also suggest that these relationships can be moderated by gender. The hypotheses were tested on a sample of 219 adult employees (Mage = 37.7, SDage = 9.2) in a cross-sectional study. Findings provide support the religiosity–career orientation style link and the moderating function of gender in the relationship of the centrality of religiosity with work orientation styles and work engagement. Specifically, the higher the centrality of religiosity, the stronger the calling orientation among women and the higher the job orientation among men. The higher the centrality of religiosity, the stronger the vigor, dedication and absorption among women and the lower the vigor, dedication and absorption among men. Our study supports the claim that being religious is related to the acceptance of traditional worldviews on gender roles at work. However, religiosity is a source of motivation to engage at work for women, whereas for men, high religiosity can reduce engagement in work.

This paper presents the author’s approach to the interaction of civil construction participants. The hypothesis about the need to change the nature and mechanism of relations between civil construction participants is put forward. The author offers an original approach to management and interaction systems in construction, which offers improving the interaction of construction participants on the basis of digital cooperation in the value network. Based on the methods of system analysis, the author defines the advantages of the parties from the association of construction participants and interaction in a single information space, lists the opportunities provided by joining a single information space, analyzes the features of the management process in the digital cooperation of civil construction participants in the value network, and presents the main activities in a single information space. A diagram of the relationship of construction participants in digital cooperation in the value network in a unified information space is presented. The expected effectiveness in implementing digital cooperation of construction participants in the value network is to increase the effectiveness of civil construction based on the principles of partnership of participants, transparency of interactions with the reduction of contradictions and restructuring of their goals to achieve the final result.

With the development of enterprise information system, a fast recovery from IT fault or incident has become more and more important. To ensure that users can resume their work as soon as possible, this paper designs and implements an event management process. Based on the international standards ITIL and ISO20000, this paper discusses the incident management process design and implementation. This design improved incident management processes, defined the responsibilities and implementing guidelines of roles involved, define key performance indicators extracted. This design can be widely used in IT companies fault handling and event management.
