One of the most important things about life safety is the implementation of appropriate means and measures to create and maintain healthy and safe living conditions and human activities both in everyday life and during emergencies. The human factor as a factor in life safety can be the main source of danger. A person's readiness for responsible constructive behaviour is formed due to the influence of organisational culture of the enterprise, as well as information space. The authors aimed to investigate the role of moral attitudes of young people and their readiness for constructive social interaction. The study took place in the 2019-2020 academic year at Lviv Polytechnic National University. The empirical study involved 535 students. The questionnaire was carried out. Factor analysis identified six factors. It was established that most students have consumeristic, authoritarian and destructive ideas, therefore their reactions to the actions of life safety specialists aimed at introducing labour safety technologies are reduced to formal observation.

We consider the socio-humanitarian problems of the formation of innopolises and science cities in Russia in the XXI century, including the impact of socio-cultural preferences on the formation of these types of localizations. The key role of young scientists in achieving the success of science and education centers is stated. It is pointed out that the inhibiting factor here is the decline of work ethic and the realities of the labor market in the form of the insufficient prestige of a researcher in the professional preferences of young people.

There is a general agreement that receiving appropriate and timely careers guidance enhances the likelihood of an individual’s participation in post-compulsory education. However, little is understood about how careers guidance influences the choices of learners. This paper explores the educational journey of learners’ who enrol within the Further Education sector in Wales, analysing whether the receipt of careers guidance is in anyway associated with these outcomes. This study utilises the linked database of school and pupil records, combining information from the Welsh National Pupil Database (NPD) with individual learner records from the Lifelong Learning Wales Record (LLWR) for young people who are registered at post-compulsory education providers, combined with anonymised client information held by Careers Wales. Data for two cohorts of Year 11 pupils (2012/13 and 2013/14) who subsequently enrolled in courses within the FE sector during the following academic year is analysed. Multivariate analysis reveals that, as expected, there is a strong link between GCSE attainment and learning aims at FE. However, the analysis also suggests that receipt of careers guidance may encourage learners to make choices at FE that are more commensurate with their abilities. Those with higher levels of attainment are also more likely to enrol on higher level learning programmes if they have also been in receipt of careers guidance. Likewise, those with low levels of attainment at GCSE are more likely to enrol on learning programmes with lower qualification aims if they have been in receipt of careers guidance. Receiving careers guidance through interviews increased the likelihood of registering on WBL programmes. Furthermore, learners on WBL programmes who have received careers guidance are less likely to withdraw from their courses early. The study offers important insights as to the role of career guidance in supporting young people in their transitions to post-compulsory education.

A common interest of all shipping industry stakeholders is safe and accident-free shipping. To reach that goal, one of the most important actions that can be done is to analyze previous marine accidents. It means finding causes of accidents and, based on the analysis results, implementing effective corrective measures that can help reduce such undesired events in the future and improve safety efforts in shipping. Since it is widely accepted that human error accounts for 80–85% of all marine accidents, the research was focused on the human factor analysis in marine accidents. In this paper, 135 marine accident reports recorded in the UK Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) database from 2010 to 2019 were analyzed. The analysis aimed to categorize causal factors and discover the ones that are the most common. The Human Factor Analysis and Classification System for Maritime Accidents (HFACS-MA) method was used to be able to do so. Furthermore, multiple linear regression was used to determine the relationship between the number of accidents and the most common HFACS-MA causal factors. The research revealed that the causes of marine accidents are primarily dependent on two human factor categories and confirmed that by influencing those human factors categories, the number of marine accidents could be reduced and shipping safety improved in general.

Abstract: This article, based on a research project on youth and car cultures in the Faroe Islands, describes and analyses the meaning, value and symbol given to cars and driving among young people today. The article focuses on leisure, social interaction and cultural identity in order to understand and define the position and role of the car among young people. The risk behaviour and attitude of drivers is investigated with these questions in mind: How do young people interpret their own risk behaviour? How do young people communicate experiences and information concerning the safety and danger of driving? The article aims to give a fresh view on a field that has been characterized by strong prejudiced societal condemnation of young people’s attitudes and behaviour.

Útrak

Hesin tekstur, ið hevur støði í granskingarverkætlan um ungdóm og bilmentan í Føroyum, lýsir og greinir meiningar, virði og symbol, ið ung geva bilum og bilkoyring í dag. How do new generations in a society negotiate different perspectives of a controversial past available from various sources? How do they use the past to make sense of their lives? Using in-depth interviews with 72 young members of the first two Croatian post-Yugoslav generations, this study analysed how these young people acquired elements of their repertoires on the recent Yugoslav past from family members, school and the media, how they assessed these elements in terms of plausibility and legitimacy, and how they appropriated or questioned them. The study’s findings suggest that the credibility of the socially mediated perspectives of the past was increased by the emotional bond with the sources who adopted the role of witnesses, and by the fit with the personal concerns of the meaning-making audience. As a result, the most successful were the frames transmitted by the communicative sources through social interaction, rather than by the institutionalized sources.

Prostitution is a negative social phenomenon that is present in all stages of development of human civilization. As such, it appeared in various intensities and forms, causing serious psychological, moral and legal consequences. From the ancient period to the present day, prostitution has survived, but the view of it has varied in different historical periods. Prostitution is inextricably linked to young people and as a deviant behavior has justifiably provoked negative reactions from society. The aim of this paper is to present the attitude towards prostitution in different state and social systems, from ancient Greece and Rome to modern times, through different historical epochs. Having in mind the negative impact and deviance of prostitution, as well as its negative impact on young people, a special chapter deals with the role of youth safety culture in prostitution prevention, and especially the importance and stability of the family in educating and raising healthy young people with normal moral attitudes and principles.
