In explaining the phenomena of life, thinkers have not clarified the relationship between money and standards and people. Man is a liberty, creative subject, truth in behavior and labor. The product of creative acts creates needs, and the product of labor fulfills human needs. Exchange between people is the exchange of behavior, labor for products as a broker. Relationships between individuals establish standards of ownership of property and people. People, property, and standards are unified, but when the state monopolizes the promulgation of laws and issues money, the state, money, and laws are unified. Laws, money and products exchanged with each other make the relationship between the state and citizens have different functions and tasks. Money is the purpose, so making money to live makes the love of money increase. People forget themselves, become hostile towards each other in the vicious circle of money. When USD became a popular spiritual demand, countries with USD need were in the whirlpool of the money game set by the American regime. Economic growth, war of aggression, defense of the homeland are common spiritual needs. Commodities, modern weapons, arms race, globalization make the USD stronger.

John Lee's, David Fedman's, and Lisa Brady's essays persuasively show the value of studying environmental issues on the Korean peninsula. Each of the essays carefully explains how drives led by individuals and entities, such as the state, engineered nature for human needs, security, and later economic growth. In so doing, they show how these drives simultaneously altered nature and remade institutions, systems, and cultures that influenced people's agency and identity and reshaped forms of consciousness. By judiciously making visible the agents and social forces behind the reconstitution of nature, the essays collectively introduce diverse approaches to the study of environmental issues in Asia and elsewhere. Most of all, they demonstrate that transnational environmental history on the Korean peninsula can no longer be overlooked when dwelling on and debating major historical and theoretical issues in Korean, Asian, and environmental studies.

The combination of the need to adjust the energy mix in favor of the environment and the demands on energy consumption and at the same time on the economic growth of states leads to an increase in energy dependence. The high level of energy dependence is often cited as a potential threat to the economic growth of the state. The aim of the paper is to find out whether there is a correlation between macroeconomic indicators and the degree of energy dependence. Using the Pearson correlation coefficient, we examine the strength of the relationship between GDP, trade balance, inflation, unemployment and the degree of energy dependence on the example of the states of the European Union in the period 2005 2018. The results of the research show that the relationship between the degree of energy dependence and macroeconomic indicators for the European Union is completely individual and the strength and direction of correlation varies from country to country. Combining the degree of energy dependence in general with the direct threat to economic growth therefore proves to be misleading and it is necessary to always deal with a specific state in this matter and take into account other factors that could affect the relationship under study. These conclusions represent the beginning of a paradigm shift that energy dependence threatens the state economy, and therefore more emphasis can be placed on other aspects, such as the environmental ones, when adopting new energy strategies.

This article examines the theories and practices of neoliberalism across 13 aspects of (‘things you need to know about’) neoliberalism. They include the argument that neoliberalism is not reducible to a cogent ideology or a change in economic or social policies, nor is it primarily about a shift in the relationship between the state and the market or between workers and capital in general, or finance in particular. Instead, neoliberalism is a stage in the development of capitalism underpinned by financialization. Neoliberalism by its nature is highly diversified in its features, impact and outcomes, reflecting specific combinations of scholarship, ideology, policy and practice. In turn, these are attached to distinctive material cultures giving rise to the (variegated) neoliberalization of everyday life and, at a further remove, to specific modalities of economic growth, volatility and crisis. Finally, this paper argues that there are alternatives, both within and beyond neoliberalism itself.

The article examines the factors that influence the relationship between the banking and socio-economic sectors, which testifies to their close relationship: the capabilities and potential of one sector increase as the other sector develops. The issues of sector synergy in the system of interaction between the bank and the state regulator, the banking and economic sector and the banking and social sector, both in theoretical, methodological and practical aspects, remain insufficiently developed. Banking entities should give the opportunity to use all opportunities to maximize profits without restriction in a period of economic growth, which will provide enough painless support to businesses in order to retain and develop full-fledged, strong partners in the future. The implementation of the principle should be temporary, and the costs of the banking sector can be offset by economic growth.

This introductory chapter provides an analytical overview of this volume. Firstly, it provides a rationale for the book. Secondly, it assesses where we stand in terms of the state of current knowledge on the subject, expanding on what we know about three key concerns—concepts, methods, and determinative factors. We argue while social mobility in advanced economies has received extensive scholarly attention, crucial knowledge gaps remain about the patterns and determinants of income, educational, and occupational mobility in developing countries. Thirdly, it examines the inter-relationships among inequality, poverty reduction, intergenerational mobility, and economic growth, discussing the relationship between inequality and social mobility, between economic growth and social mobility, and between poverty reduction and social mobility in turn. Finally, the chapter discusses the contributions of each chapter in the book volume.

In recent years, Vietnam has achieved high economic growth rate so inflation has become a noticeable problem. The relationship between state budget deficit and inflation is a two-way dialectical relationship. However, within the limit of this article, the author only studies one-way relationship, the effect of budget deficit on inflation rate in Vietnam. Prolonged budget deficit and the remediation of the state budget deficit by different methods have affected the inflation rate on different degrees. This effect is analyzed by many approaches, both quantitative and qualitative, and includes five approaches: impact of fiscal policy inflation, impact of the state budget deficit level on inflation, impact of budget deficit funding on inflation, independence of monetary policy and its effect on inflation, effect of public expenditure on inflation.

PurposeThis work aims to study the relationship between individuals' love of money and their propensity to engage in unethical behaviour.Design/methodology/approachData were collected through a questionnaire, with the final sample consisting of 297 Portuguese individuals. The hypotheses were tested using linear regression models.FindingsThe results demonstrate that there is no significant relationship between the love of money and the propensity to engage in unethical behaviour. However, there was a significant relationship between the level of budgeting and the propensity to engage in unethical behaviours – for those individuals who have a greater ability to manage their money are less likely to engage in behaviours unethical. The existence of a significant relationship between the “evil” factor and the propensity to engage in unethical behaviour was also validated, which demonstrates that when individuals both associate negative feelings with money and consider love of money to be the “root of evil”, then they are less likely to be involved in unethical behaviour.Originality/valueThis work contributes theoretically and empirically to a better understanding of individuals' attitudes towards money and their propensity to engage in unethical behaviour. The results are of particular academic and organisational relevance due to the implications for human resource management.
