AbstractThis research aims to examine the effect of perceived brand quality and brand personality on brand fondness with memories as moderator. This study examines the effect of independent variables on dependent variable with memories as moderating variable. The subject in this research were students, civil servants, professionals (nuns, accountants), entrepreneurs, private employees whom are users of Asus brand laptop in Indonesia. The sample were chosen by using nonprobability sampling technique namely purposive sampling. The instrument of this study was online questionnaire and the gathered data is analyzed by using multiple regression analysis. The finding of this study explains that perceived brand quality and brand personality have a positive effect on brand fondness. Brand fondness has a positive effect on brand loyalty and active engagement. The finding on moderation variables explains that memories are not proven to moderate the effect between perceived brand quality and brand fondness, it means that the magnitude of memory as a moderating variable has nothing to do with the relationship between independent variables and dependent variable. In addition, the finding of variable memories proved to moderate the effect between brand personality and brand fondness, it means that it will strongly influence the relationship between brand personality and brand fondness when the variable memory is high, otherwise it will become weak when the variable memory is low. Keywords: Perceived brand quality, brand personality, brand love, brand loyalty, active engagement, memories.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to analyze the influences of brand personality on consumer behavior, with a special emphasis on the brand love construct. The aim is to expand upon existing literature in the field of branding, investigating the relationship between brand love and brand personality through experiential approaches to consumer behavior. Design/methodology/approach The conceptual model and the analysis of related hypotheses were based on a sample of 478 Portuguese clothing brand consumers. The data were collected using an online survey and the data analysis was done using the structural equations modeling. Findings The results show that brand personality has a positive and significant impact on brand love, resistance to negative information and self-disclosure and brand love has a positive and significant impact on brand loyalty, word-of-mouth, resistance to negative information, willingness to pay more, self-disclosure and active engagement. Research limitations/implications This study has some methodological limitation affecting its potential contributions. This investigation has a cross-sectional nature and only tested a few variables as consequences of brand personality. Practical implications This investigation provides evidence of the major impacts of both brand personality and brand love, showing how they combine to boost relevant outcomes like brand loyalty, WOW, willingness to pay more, resistance to negative information, self-disclosure or active engagement. Originality/value The originality of this research is related to three fundamental aspects: it is the first time the relationship between brand personality and brand love is tested using second-order modeling to capture the combined effects of all dimensions of brand personality; the influence of brand personality is usually related to attitudes (e.g. word-of-mouth, willingness to pay more, etc.) and not with feelings, such as love, the most powerful feeling that can be established between two people or between a person and a brand (in the case of brand love); and the authors tested brand love by linking brand personality and some traditional relational outcomes under the assumption that brand love can strengthen such relationships.

Brand experience has received a lot of attention within the business industry. Customers are looking for not only valuable brand benefits but also, emotional skills as well as brand experience theory. In this regard, the Egyptian Telecommunications Industry tries, also, to provide answers on how to measure brand experience and how it affects customers’ behaviors. This research examines in the context of the Egyptian telecommunications market the relationship between Brakus et al.’s (2009) four whole experience dimensions (sensory, affective, intellectual, and behavioral), brand personality, and brand loyalty. The author produced an online questionnaire, which, based on a simple sampling method, was distributed to and collected from the Egyptian telecommunications industry (Vodafone Egypt, Orange Egypt, Etisalat Egypt, and We Egypt). Four hundred fifty questionnaires were distributed and, excluding those that were incomplete, the author obtained 392 samples. This represented an 87% response rate. The results indicate that brand experience has a positive impact on the brand’s personality. Brand experience has, also, a strong positive effect on brand loyalty and, ultimately, brand personality has a strong positive effect on brand loyalty. Besides the brand experience’s direct effect on brand loyalty, it has a significant indirect effect on brand loyalty by impacting on brand personality. Among the relationships between the variables, the relationship between brand personality and brand loyalty is the strongest. More particularly, it is noteworthy that the correlation with the findings shows that the relationship between brand experience and brand loyalty is greater than the direct relationship. Therefore, in order to strengthen customer brand loyalty, telecommunications managers should pay more attention to customer brand personality.

PurposeThe purpose of this research study is to empirically investigate a hypothesized theoretical framework that captures the impact of brand personality congruence, brand love and brand attachment on brand loyalty in the luxury branding sector.Design/methodology/approachEmpirical data were gathered from 416 millennial shoppers with incomes from US$100,000 and above (High-Earners-Not–Rich-Yet). Structural equation modeling was used to test the hypotheses of the framework developed for the study. Dubai is chosen as the context of the study based on the fact that the luxury brands sector is one of the leading industries in the country, and has a sizeable population of HENRY's.FindingsThe findings of this study revealed that brand personality congruence is a critical determinant of brand love and brand loyalty, suggesting congruence between the consumer's personality and the brand is essential to the luxury branding sector. The study also establishes a relationship between brand attachment and brand loyalty.Research limitations/implicationsThis study offers new empirical support for the proposition that consumers' emotional aspects like brand personality congruence and brand love are critical for enhancing brand loyalty toward luxury. The findings from this study can provide brand managers with a guide to managing their branding strategies and understand the strategic role of these variables on communication strategies for a new emerging segment of the HENRY's customer segment.Originality/valueThis study contributes to luxury branding and a new segment of millennials by examining the relationship between brand personality congruence, brand love, brand attachment and its effect on brand loyalty in the luxury branding context.

The purpose of the study were: (1) to develop a reliable and valid scale and model for sensory experience, (2) to empirically test the model using Roberts’ (2004) lovemarks theory by examining the effect of the two brand image dimensions on the lovemark experience (brand love and brand respect) and, (3) to examine the relationship among brand loyalty, brand trust and overall brand equity. The empirical results show that the model is found to be fit and the hypotheses are significant and the variables have a strong correlation with one another.

This research, based on stakeholder theory and the national cultural dimensions, aims to test the influence of foreigners on board and its size on Integrated Reporting (IR) practices. The analysis is based on a sample of 1,058 European companies from 18 different countries, who adopted or not the IR for the year 2015, and it relies on a Logit. The dependent variable is a dummy (presenting or not the IR) and the independent variables are represented by the board characteristics (foreigners and size). The impact of the critical mass on the presence of foreigners and the cultural dimension on the basis of directors’ nationality was tested relying on the masculinity/femininity dimension of Hofstede. Besides, the directors’ country of origin was considered, namely if they belong to the major European countries presenting a wider IR diffusion. The relationship between foreigners on board and IR is found to be negative. This means that companies with at least one foreigner are less inclined to adopt IR. The results show that the boards with more of three foreign administrators have a major propensity to adopt the IR. The membership of the directors in countries with a feminist culture also has a positive effect.
