Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui kontribusi kekuatan otot tungkai dan kekuatan otot punggung terhadap kemampuan bantingan pinggang secara ilmiah. Adapun rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah berapa besar kontribusi kekuatan otot tungkai dan kekuatan otot punggung secara bersama-sama terhadap kemampuan bantingan pinggang dalam olahraga gulat? Penelitian ini dilakukan di sasana gulat PGSI Provinsi Bengkulu. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode korelasi product moment dan korelasi ganda, sampel penelitian berjumlah 30 atlet gulat PGSI Provinsi Bengkulu yang diambil dengan teknik total sampling. Adapun hasil data Rhitung = 0,91 > Rtabel = 0,361 maka Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima artinya terdapat hubungan yang berarti antara X1 dan X2 secara bersama-sama dengan Y. Kontribusi kekuatan otot lengan dan kekuatan otot punggung terhadap kemampuan bantingan pinggang yaitu K = r2 x 100% = 82,81%. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa adanya kontribusi positif antara kekuatan otot tungkai dan kekuatan otot punggung terhadap kemampuan bantingan pinggang sebesar 82,81%.AbstractThis study was conducted to determine the contribution of leg muscle strength and back muscle strength to the ability of the waist beating scientifically. The formulation of the problem in this research is how much contribution of leg muscle strength and back muscle strength together to the ability of waist beating in wrestling? This research was conducted in wrestling sasana PGSI of Bengkulu Province. The research method used is correlation method with product moment and double correlation, the samples are research 30 wrestling atlets of PGSI Bengkulu Province taken with total sampling technique. The result of data Rcount = 0.91> Rtable = 0.361 then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, it means that there is a meaningful relationship between X1 and X2 together with Y. Contribution of arm muscle strength and back muscle strength to the ability of waist beating that is K = r2 x 100% = 82.81%. So it can be concluded that there is a positive contribution between leg muscle strength and back muscle strength to the ability of waist beating by 82.81%.Keywords: leg muscle strength, back muscle strength, waist beating ability.

Objective. To study the criterion-related validity of simple muscle strength test (SMST) indicators and assess whole body muscle strength in Chinese children aged 10 to 12 years old.Methods. Two hundred and forty children were equally divided into four groups in different genders and residences. The SMST indicators (hand-grip, knee bent push-up, back muscle strength, sit-up, leg muscle strength, and standing long jump) were tested. We set up the total level of the whole-body muscle strength (Ftotal) through testing isokinetic muscle strength of the six joints’ flexion and extension movements. Pearson correlation analyses were used to analyze the correlation between the SMST indicators and theFtotal.Results.(1)Leg muscle strength and back muscle strength demonstrated the highest validity scores. Sit-ups, hand grip, and standing long jump demonstrated the lowest validity scores.(2)Leg muscle strength had the highest validity for males, but back muscle strength had the highest validity for females.Conclusions. Back muscle strength and leg muscle strength can give the highest validity of assessing whole body muscle strength, and also has higher validity in both the urban and rural children. For urban children, but not rural, the knee bent push-up also has a high validity indicator.

This study aims to determine the effects of intelligence, leg muscle strength, as well as the balance towardsthe learning outcomes of pencak silat empty-handed single artistic on the students Physical Education Health andRecreation of Islamic University 45 Bekasi. The research method is survey, and the analysis technique is path analysis.This research was held in Islamic University 45 Bekasi with 122 people of population. The sampling technique usedwas random sampling, with the total sample of 60 people. The instruments used were a rubric 4 scale (very good,good, enough and less) of learning outcomes of pencak silat empty-handed single artistic, intelligence test with IST(Intelligence Structure Test), leg muscle strength with instrument squat test, and test of balance by using modifiedbass test of dynamic balance. Based the result of data processing and analysis, the conclusions are: (1) intelligencedirectly affects the learning outcomes of pencak silat empty-handed single artistic, (2) leg muscle strength directlyaffects the learning outcomes of pencak silat empty-handed single artistic, (3) balance directly affect the the learningoutcomes of pencak silat empty-handed single artistic, (4) intelligence directly affects the balance, and (5) leg musclestrength directly effects the balance. The increasing number of elderly and elderly life expectancy is a challenge for health workers. Decreased cardiac endurance, muscle strength and increased incidence of inflammation will occur in the elderly as we get older. health cardio exercises series-I is an aerobic exercise that has moderate intensity and is carried out for 30 minutes, research is needed to analyze the effect on cardiac endurance, muscle strength and decrease plasma TNF-? levels in the elderly. Research design with experimental method, pre-test and post-test design approach. The study was conducted for 4 weeks on 25 samples which were divided into 3 groups of frequency of health cardio exercises series-I to measure endurance of the heart. A 6-minute road test and muscle strength were used for hand grip strength dynamometer, test back and leg dynamometer. Measurement of plasma TNF-? levels is carried out using the Elisa method. The data was then analyzed using paired t-test to see differences before and after health cardio exercises series-I. The results showed health cardio exercises series-I performed 3x / mg can increase the heart's endurance compared to the frequency of 4x / mg and 5x / mg (-16.11 vs 15.62 vs -47.62 meters). health cardio exercises series-I frequency of 3x / mg and 4x / mg can increase back muscle strength (p-value = 0.019, p <0.05) and the frequency of 5x / mg can increase the strength of attractive shoulder muscles. (p-value = 0.033, p <0.05). Health cardio exercises series-I performed 3x / mg, 4x / mg and 5x / mg did not have a significant effect on plasma TNF-? protein expression in the elderly (0.506 vs 0.856 vs. 0.382, p <0.05). It is suggested that the elderly can do I-1 series heart exercise with a frequency of 3x / mg to increase the heart's lung endurance and back muscle strength, a health cardio exercises series-I 4x / mg series to increase muscle strength of the back back, a series of health cardio exercises series-I frequency of 5x / mg to increase attractive shoulder muscle strength.

The purpose of this research is to find out: 1) The relationship of leg muscle strength to the results of shooting the silent ball towards the goal. 2) Relationship between ankle coordination and the result of shooting the ball silently towards the goal. 3) The relationship between leg muscle strength and ankle coordination towards the results of shooting the ball silently towards the goal.The method used in this study is a method of correlation with test and measurement techniques. Data analysis was carried out by a computerized system with simple or multiple regression analysis. The population in this study were students who participated in extra-curricular football at Pontianak's N 8 High School, totaling 22 people. In this study, there was no sampling technique because it took all the population who participated in 22 extra-curricular activities.The results of the analysis of the data obtained indicate that: 1) There is a relationship between leg muscle strength to the results of shooting the silent ball towards the goal. 2) There is a coordination relationship between the ankles and the result of shooting the silent ball towards the goal. 3) There is a relationship between leg muscle strength and ankle coordination towards the results of shooting the silent ball towards the goal.The amount of donation given by leg muscle strength to the results of silent ball shooting towards the goal was 52.1%, while the coordination contribution of the ankle to the results of silent ball shooting towards the goal was 25.3%. While the magnitude of the contribution given by the two variables, namely leg muscle strength and ankle coordination was 59% of the results of shooting the silent ball towards the goal. It is recommended that in addition to practicing silent ball shooting techniques towards the goal, leg muscle strength should be taken into consideration for the trainer in giving a portion of training.

The purpose of this study was to determine whether lower body negative pressure (LBNP) treadmill exercise maintains lumbar spinal compressive properties, curvature, and back muscle strength after 28 days of 6° head-down tilt (HDT) bed rest (BR). We hypothesize that LBNP treadmill exercise will maintain lumbar spine compressibility, lumbar lordosis and back muscle strength after 28 days of 6° HDT bed rest. Fifteen healthy identical twin pairs (14 women and 16 men) participated in this study. One identical twin was randomly assigned to the nonexercise control (Con) group, and their sibling was assigned to the exercise (Ex) group. The lumbar spine was significantly more compressible Post-BR compared with Pre-BR in the Con ( P = 0.01). Lumbar spine compressibility Post-BR was not significantly different compared with Pre-BR in the Ex group ( P = 0.89). In both the Con and Ex groups, there were no significant changes Post-BR in lumbar lordosis compared with Pre-BR. Back muscle strength significantly decreased in the Con group Post-BR ( P = 0.002), whereas in the Ex group back muscle strength was not significantly different from Pre-BR values. A significant increase in lumbar spine compressibility in the Con group suggests that spinal deconditioning to gravity occurs during 28-day bed rest. Changes in the mechanical properties of the lumbar spine may be an early indicator of lumbar intervertebral disk degeneration. Supine LBNP treadmill exercise provides axial loads to the lumbar spine and may prevent lumbar spine deconditioning associated with HDT bed rest.

Subjects (6 male, 6 female) lifted and lowered boxes at eight variations of location and direction. For each of the eight, there were three weights (5, 10, and 15 kg for males, 5, 7.5, and 10 for females), three volumes (150, 225, and 300 mm cubes), and two techniques (bend and squat); 144 conditions in all. Subjects rated difficulty using a 7-point scale (1 = prepared to do continuously, 3 = 1110 min for 8 hr, 5 = 1/120 min for 8 hr, 7 = refuse to do). For the same weight, females rated tasks more difficult than males. In addition, for each additional kg of weight, the female rating increased 0.44 versus 0.14 for males. The effect of volume was significant for females but not males. Lowering was 3% easier than lifting. Bending was 2% easier than squatting. Isometric back muscle strength is a good index of the maximum weight a person will lift (r = 0.84; rating standard error = 0.4).
