The present study was conducted to examine mobile addiction determinant factors among university students in higher education in Malaysia. A total of 162 students responded to the online survey questionnaire. The study employed a quantitative-based research method to obtain data, and the research instruments consist of a set of combined questionnaires adopted from two Ph.D. studies. The correlation result between mobile addiction and attitude showed a stronger association than with the purpose of use. However, linear regression only indicated a significant contribution of students’ attitude towards mobile addiction variance. This study investigated the relationship between motivation and willingness to communicate (WTC) in English and motivation towards the WTC in English amongst pre-university Engineering students. The instruments used to investigate the motivation and the WTC in English and the correlation between motivation and WTC in English were administered amongst 109 respondents. There was a significant relationship between the variables. The multivariate regression results implied that 48.8% of WTC variance could be predicted from the motivation to communicate in English. The study provided important implications concerning the extension of the corpus of knowledge and pedagogical enhancement. The changes in motivation cause an impact on students’ behavior related to academic success. The online survey found that a significant variation of academic motivation occurred in four different phases of Optometry studies. The 3rd year preclinical students displayed a lack of motivation compared to other student groups. This indicated changes in learning adaptation for different syllabus and approaches in educational stages. The academic performance correspondent with the students’ motivation as higher motivation gave better academic performance. Thus, understanding students' academic motivation permits educators to improve the educational approaches in teaching and learning to enhance student performance. Cross-sectional study was conducted on 774 students from a Syrian University using questionnaire to estimate the prevalence of smoking among University students and to identify factors related to smoking. Smoking prevalence was 20.75%. Mean age (years) of smokers (25 ± 2.2) was significantly older than non-smokers (21 ± 1.8). Smoking prevalence among males was 26.1%, significantly higher than among females (9.5%). Female students consumed significantly higher number of cigarettes /day ( 21 ± 5) than the male (9 ± 2). Smoking was significantly higher (27.8%) among students living away from their families than (16.2%) those living with families. Keywords: smoking, risk factors, youth © 2017. The Authors. AbstractReading efficiency is one of the main concerns among the teachers, publishers, and also eye care practitioners. The size of the text was among factor that might affect the reading. The eye movement behaviour was studied in six different text legibility. The saccades and fixation were recorded and tracked among twenty-five university students. Significant changes in eye movements behaviour in term of saccades and fixations occurred when the university students read passages with different text legibility. The eye movements behaviour was able to adapt to the changes in shape, and size of presented reading materials for better understanding of reading. Keywords: eye movements; saccadic; fixation; readingeISSN: 2398-4287 © 2019. The Movement Control Order (MCO) for Covid-19 safety measure caused worry and anxiety among university students, especially those stranded in their university hostels or rental accommodation. Universities’ staffs helped their basic living and study needs. This study aims to determine the emotional challenges among these students and examine the association between their emotional score across the university’s welfare. Based on a survey of 284 respondents, the findings show that there is a significant difference between their emotions and stranded locations. Residential facilities, information updates, and food provided are substantial to their emotional scores. To move Malaysia to a developing nation, 60,000 professionally qualified accountants are needed by 2030. However, as of April 2017, only 33,000 accountants have registered as members of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA). The purpose of this research is to analyse students’ behaviour on the motivational factors to obtain professional accounting qualifications. This study gathered the response of 187 students as samples from the only public university in Malaysia that offers ACCA professional accounting certificate. The results show that most students are motivated by intrinsic and extrinsic motivations, while there is no relationship between third parties’ influence and demographic factors with the decision to pursue a professional accounting qualification. This study aims to identify support for smoke-free policies among university students.  A cross-sectional study was conducted among 406 students from three main campuses of a university in 2018. A standardized questionnaire was administered on sociodemographic characteristics, knowledge, and habits towards tobacco use and tobacco influence. There was a significant association between knowledge on secondhand smoke (SHS) and the types of tobacco-free policies, support for smoke-free cars, smoke-free homes, and a peer support tobacco-free program. Knowledge of secondhand smoke, third-hand smoke, and tobacco-free policies increased support for tobacco-free campuses.
