Job embeddedness (JE) is an emerging concept in the field of employee turnover research and suggests some novel and stimulating ways to think about employee retention globally. Although research implications of JE are encouraging, there is a paucity of research on the topic domestically, which limits the practical efficacy of the same. Indian organizations, therefore, being bitten by high attrition rate, need a better understanding of the concept of JE. The present paper, based on the literature review, thus discusses the following aspects related to job embeddedness specifically: the concept of job embeddedness, dimensions and measurement of job embeddedness, the predictive validity of job embeddedness and promising expansions of the same across nations and organizations. At the end, we embed our suggestions as to how organizations can implement a sound retention management program incorporating job embeddedness.

Meanwhile, the disadvantages of this binding method are that the process tends to be longer, more expensive, cannot be put on too many shelves because the collection will shift backwards, the pages tend to come off easily if the stitches are not strong enough, and can only be used in binding periodical collections.

County governments in Kenya have been consistently accused of poor budget absorption. This article sought to assess misallocation of county funds and the delays in procurement process on budget absorption in county governments in Kenya. Descriptive research design was used. The study found out that there was misallocation of funds from the national governments to county treasuries and from the county treasuries to various department projects and activities which in effect affected the procurement processes. Procurement functions in the county governments were inefficient owing to the lead time and bureaucracies involved in procurement. The study therefore recommended for county governments in collaboration with commission for revenue allocation and the national treasuries to come up with a criterion for ensuring smooth flow of funds from the national treasury to the end user departments.

Research is seen as something grounded in theory that can lead to improved practice. Without a theoretical basis it is unlikely to go beyond data gathering. The theoretical insights leading to good research are more likely to come from educational and social theories generally than from an attempt to develop a theory of open and distance learning. An examination of existing research shows that it is often atheoretical and predominantly descriptive. Research on the context of open and distance learning, considering its purposes, outcomes, and relevance to major educational problems, has been relatively neglected as contrasted with research on its application. Significant research issues today include: problems posed by globalisation, including issues of governance and consumer protection; ways of maximising public benefit from new communication technologies; the development of strategies for AIDS education; and the continuing need for educational expansion.
