<p>This study aims at determining the implementation of 5S programs at Muhammadiyah Elementary School Ambarbinangun Tirtonirmolo Bantul which include: General character education in general, teacher's understanding toward character education through 5S and principals and teachers efforts in building students character through 5S.</p><p>               This research is a case study qualitative research. Data collection techniques used in this research were interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques using data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. Data validity techniques used in this research was source and data triangulations.</p><p>               The results of this study indicate that Muhammadiyah Elementary School, Ambarbinangun has carried out the formation of student character through habituation of the implementation of the 5S as follows: (1) the teacher has understood the nature of character education well, (2) the implementation of the 5S is based on self-development which includes routine school activities, spontaneous activities, exemplary and conditioning. 5S is also implemented in the learning activities through; school’s curriculum, scoring and subjects. The school principal’s roles are coordinating, mobilizing, and harmonizing the implementation of teaching and learning processes at the school. Meanwhile, teachers give the students motivation to have better characters. It can be seen from the students’ routine activities to stay in lines in front of the class before entering each room then shaking hands with the teacher.</p><p>Keywords: Character building, application of 5 S (<em>senyum, sapa, salam , sopan santun</em>)</p>

Strengthening character education in schools is a government policy as an effort to re-put character as the core of education. The process of teaching and learning activities is currently carried out online and face-to-face while still prioritizing health protocols due to the pandemic. So, currently schools are required to continue to innovate in order to maximize the character education process in schools. The purpose of this study is to describe the strengthening of character education through school culture, the obstacles and efforts made during the pandemic. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. The research location was conducted at Alam Al-Karim Elementary School, Lampung. The research subjects are the Principal, Deputy Principal and Teachers. Based on the results of the research, strengthening character education through school culture is carried out in the form of habituation activities namely, Morning Activity, Daily Worship, Murajaah Qur'an, and Green Therapy as a means of socializing character values ​​and awareness to maintain health and mentally facing a pandemic. The obstacles are the limited time available and limited physical communication. The effort made by the school is through making a special curriculum in the new normal era. The conclusion of this research is that strengthening character education through school culture in the middle of a pandemic carried out by the Alam Al-Karim Elementary School is an alternative concept that can be applied in order to make character education effective as an important goal in education.

This research aimed to know the character education of love of homeland through a green  harmony program at Border State Elementary School Sambas - Malaysia. Which viewed from the aspect of planning, implementation, and evaluation of learning characteristic of green harmony. Place of research conducted at Sajingan Besar 03 State Elementary School and Sasak 07 State Elementary School. This research was qualitative research that produces descriptive data. The subject of this research were headmasters, teachers, and students. Data collected by  interview, observation, and documentation. Data were analyzed using data analysis techniques with data collection steps, data reduction, data presentation, and data verification (drawing conclusions). Technique examination of data validity by using technique triangulation and source. The results showed that character education through green schools program implemented in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of  learning was running well. Characteristic learning planning begins with an understanding of school programs and planning of learning scenarios. The implementation of learning was carried out by applying SERU's learning (happy, effective, friendly, unique) and contextual learning approaches. Characteristic learning evaluation was conducted by observation, anacdetal record, and portfolio.

This research was conducted at Integral Elementary School of Luqman Hakim Bojonegoro by analyzing its Islamic education system and its implementation in building the students’ characters. It employed qualitative approach by descriptive method in a case study type. The data were collected through interview and documentation using method and source triangulation as data validity test. The data analysis technique was interactive analysis method. The research results showed that (1) the Islamic education system applied at this school was combining diniyah and academic achievement. This elementary school emphasizes on Al Qur’an and science, (2) the implementation of Islamic education in building the students’ characters is actualized in the classroom learning activity (combining Al Qur’an and science), the teachers’ exemplary in educating the students during the teaching process both inside and outside the classroom, one of which is by having extracurricular that implementing the character education values.  Keywords: Islamic Education System, Character Education. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sistem pendidikan Islam dan implementasinya dalam membentuk karakter siswa pada SD Integral Luqman Hakim Bojonegoro. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif, sedangkan jenis penelitian ini adalah studi kasus. Pengumpulan data penelitian dilakukan melalui wawancara dan dokumentasi. Uji validitas data yang digunakan adalah trianggulasi metode dan trianggulasi sumber. Sementara itu, teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah metode analisis interaktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1), Sistem pendidikan Islam yang diterapkan di SD Integral Luqman Hakim, yakni dengan memadukan pendidikan Islam yang unggul dalam diniyah dan unggul dalam akademik, SD Integral luqman hakim mengedepankan pembelajaran yang berbasis Al-qur’an dan sains (2) Implementasi pendidikan Islam dalam membentuk karakter siswa di SD Integral luqman hakim terwujud dalam kegiatan pembelajaran dikelas (perpaduan Al-qur’an dan sains), serta keteladanan pengajar dalam mendidik siswa – siswi yang tidak ada diwujudkan dalam pembelajaran di dalam kelas dan diluar kelas, misalnya seperti ekstrakulikuker yang mengimplentasi nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter.Kata Kunci: Sistem, Pendidikan, Karakter

This study tries to answer the following questions: 1) How is the implementation of character education in self-reliance and discipline to build students character in MTsN Kanigoro, Kras District, Kediri; 2) What factors that influence the implementation of character education in self reliance and discipline to build students character in MTsN Kanigoro Kras District. Kediri. This study uses a qualitative approach with case study method. The results reveal that character education is implemented through planning, integrated implementation through instruction, character building through self-development, while factors influencing the implementation are classified into two: internal and external factors.Keywords: Character Education, Independence, Student Discipline.

This research is motivated by the importance of experimentation in science learning which cannot be done directly in online learning during the pandemic. The application of STEAM is one solution to problems that arise in the management of science learning in elementary schools during the pandemic. The subjects of this study were 20 grade 6 students in an elementary school in Surakarta. The method used in this study was descriptive qualitative with a case study design. The recruited informants consisted of students and their parents. The techniques used in this research are interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis using data collection techniques, data reduction, presentation of power and drawing conclusions. The data validity technique is technique triangulation and source triangulation. The results of this study indicate that (1) the application of online learning changes the way students learn (2) In online learning experiments cannot be done directly (3) During the pandemic, teachers are required to innovate in the teaching and learning process (4) The STEAM approach can provide a meaningful experience for students (5) STEAM can encourage student development for the better. The implications of this research are: First, more and more teachers are implementing the STEAM approach in the teaching and learning process as an alternative so that students can learn optimally. Both parents are willing to take the time to observe and assist their daughter's online learning process. This study describes the application of the STEAM approach in online learning during a pandemic

Today, the attitudes and behavior of Indonesian students are declining. Schools as a component of character building have an important task in inculcating morals, ethical values, noble character, and strong and tough characters. This study was conducted to analyze the implementation of character education in Indonesia. The qualitative research using an ethnographic approach was used in this study on the implementation of character education in elementary schools. A total of 115 participants were interviewed at the school, including principals, teachers, extracurricular coaches, parents, and students. Observation, interviews, and documentation were used as the research instrument. From the results of this study, it was found that character education was very much needed in learning. The character education that was implemented in the elementary school sample includes religion; discipline; responsibility; leadership; tolerance; cooperation; love cleanliness; neatness; courtesy; perseverance; bravery; self-confidence; economical; independence; honesty; acceptance diversity; nationalism; Justice; creativity; and reward achievement. This study also described the character education strategies applied in elementary schools, namely, exemplary; habituation; school climate conditioning; integration in learning across all subjects; and integration through extracurricular activities.   Received: 2 September 2021 / Accepted: 30 October 2021 / Published: 3 January 2022

The Character-Building Reinforcement (PPK) in Muhammadiyah Plus Elementary School of Salatiga is to strengthen the students being religious and nationalist. The aim of this research is to identify the application and the success of the Character Building Reinforcement; religious and nationalist in Muhammdiyah Plus Elementary School of Salatiga year 2017/2018. This is qualitative descriptive research, the data is taken from the interview, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique is using data collection, data reduction, data display, verification, and conclusion confirmation. The result is the application of the implementation model of Character Building Reinforcement; religious and nationalist in Muhammadiyah Plus Elementary School of Salatiga year 2017/2018 is applied in academic, non academic, and self-development, whereas the success in other program and school wisdom are 1) Character-based program as a prime program to the value of religious and nationalist habituation. 2) The culture of the school to characterize the students through four things, they are routines, spontaneous activities, exemplary, and conditioning. 3) Character learning or Nobel character model of the students is holistic, integrated, and balanced according to graduate competence standard, through simple habituations in the classroom. 4) Active participation of the community to build good communication with public and private institutions and the local community. 5) Parents' involvement as the stakeholder makes the parents be active in the implementation of the Character Building Reinforcement in Muhammadiyah Plus Elementary School of Salatiga, especially in religious and nationalist education.

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to describe the strategy of strengthening character education based on Pancasila values through coaching students at the Elementary School Laboratory Universitas Negeri Malang, Blitar City. The research was conducted qualitatively with a case study approach. Data obtained through unstructured interviews, observation and documentation study. Data credibility checks were carried out using triangulation techniques, random member checks and discussion with fellow researchers. The results of this study indicate that the strategy of coaching students in order to strengthen Pancasila value-based character education is divided into learning and non-learning aspects. The strategy to strengthen character education based on Pancasila values in schools is implemented in accordance with the vision and mission of the school including being adjusted to the characteristics of school learning oriented towards western education patterns by focusing on understanding and using English as the excellence of the school. Combined with eastern customs which are described in the character building activities of students.Keywords: strategy; strengthening character education; pancasila value; elementary school laboratory.Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini yakni mendeskripsikan strategi penguatan pendidikan karakter berbasis nilai pancasila melalui pembinaan peserta didik di SD Laboratorium UM Kota Blitar. Penelitian dilakukan secara kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara tidak terstruktur, observasi dan studi dokumentasi. Pengecekan kredibilitas data dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik triangulasi, pengecekan anggota secara acak (random member check) dan diskusi teman sesama peneliti. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan strategi pembinaan peserta didik dalam rangka penguatan pendidikan karakter berbasis nilai pancasila dibagi ke dalam aspek pembelajaran dan non pembelajaran. Strategi penguatan pendidikan karakter berbasis nilai pancasila di sekolah dilaksanakan sesuai dengan visi dan misi sekolah termasuk disesuaikan dengan ciri khas pembelajaran sekolah yang berkiblat pada pola pendidikan barat dengan berfokus pada pemahaman dan penggunaan Bahasa Inggris sebagai keunggulan sekolah. Dipadukan dengan adat ketimuran yang dijabarkan dalam kegiatan pembinaan karakter peserta didik.Kata Kunci: strategi; penguatan pendidikan karakter; berbasis pancasila; sekolah laboratorium.

This study aims to explore the use of video in English language teaching (ELT) elementary school (grades 8 to 9)... In addition, the thesis aims to find out how videos in English lessons helped to achieve the goals of English curriculum. The main hypothesis was that teaching with video would develop pupils’ communicative skills and, therefore, was appropriate for the communicative approach to ELT. The study addressed five research questions regarding the use of videos in English lessons in the case study school: why the teachers used videos in ELT, what kinds of videos were used in English lessons, how and how often videos were used, what was taught and learned through the use of videos and, finally, what the teachers’ and pupils’ attitudes to lessons with videos were. The research was performed as a case study at an Elbasan elementary school. The data for the research was obtained through the use of mixed methods: qualitative, in the form of interviews with four English teachers and observations of three of the interviewed teachers’ lessons with videos, and quantitative, in the form of a pupil questionnaire answered by 105 pupils from two 8th grade and two 9th grade classes.
