The Character-Building Reinforcement (PPK) in Muhammadiyah Plus Elementary School of Salatiga is to strengthen the students being religious and nationalist. The aim of this research is to identify the application and the success of the Character Building Reinforcement; religious and nationalist in Muhammdiyah Plus Elementary School of Salatiga year 2017/2018. This is qualitative descriptive research, the data is taken from the interview, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique is using data collection, data reduction, data display, verification, and conclusion confirmation. The result is the application of the implementation model of Character Building Reinforcement; religious and nationalist in Muhammadiyah Plus Elementary School of Salatiga year 2017/2018 is applied in academic, non academic, and self-development, whereas the success in other program and school wisdom are 1) Character-based program as a prime program to the value of religious and nationalist habituation. 2) The culture of the school to characterize the students through four things, they are routines, spontaneous activities, exemplary, and conditioning. 3) Character learning or Nobel character model of the students is holistic, integrated, and balanced according to graduate competence standard, through simple habituations in the classroom. 4) Active participation of the community to build good communication with public and private institutions and the local community. 5) Parents' involvement as the stakeholder makes the parents be active in the implementation of the Character Building Reinforcement in Muhammadiyah Plus Elementary School of Salatiga, especially in religious and nationalist education.

This study entitled Analysis of Reading Difficulties in Mental Retardation Students In Primary School (Case Study In SDN Kedungputri 2). The background of this research is the emergence of learning problems in mentally retarded children attending regular elementary school (not designated as inclusive primary). This study aims to find out the learning process, especially learning to read mental retardation children in SDN Kedungputri 2, Paron, Ngawi and to find out the steps taken in overcoming the difficulties of reading children mental retardation in SDN Kedungputri 2, Paron, Ngawi. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The data collected in this research are facts and information on the implementation of character education of discipline in elementary school. In this study the data source is teachers and students. Data collection techniques used in this study consist of (a) observation, (b) interview, and (c) test. In this study the validity of the data using data triangulation. Data analysis technique is done by using interactive data model analysis technique. Based on the data collected can be seen that students who experience mental retardation initials AS and the students have difficulty reading. Teachers continue to pay attention to the difficulties of learning to read the beginning to the AS.

Authentic assessment in the 2013 curriculum requires each teacher to conduct performs a fairly complex assessment of spiritual and social attitudes, knowledge, and skills. The problem in this research is how authentic assessment of affective domain in Islamic Education and character-building is implemented in a curriculum 2013 pilot project elementary school in Banyumas Regency Central Java Indonesia. This research is field research classified as descriptive qualitative research. The interview and observation methods were used to collect the data of the process of authentic assessment of affective domain in the subjects of Islamic and character Education. The documentation method was used to gain the data related to the school profiles and planning documents, implementation and assessment processing. The analysis technique chosen in this research was descriptive analysis technique using inductive and deductive thinking methods and following Miles and Huberman model of data analysis. The study found that the implementation of an authentic assessment in the school was carried out both manually and automatically using application through the process of 1) planning done by determining the character to be measured and making an assessment format referring to KI-1 and KI-2 , 2) implementation of the assessment carried out by observing and recording the attitudes of the participants, 3) value processing done collaboratively between the Islamic and Character Education teachers (PAI and BP) with the Class Teacher then recapitulating the attitude values and making the description, and 4) Follow-up carried out by PAI & BP Teachers and Class Teachers by providing rewards, motivation, coaching, habituation programs, and mentoring.

<p>This study aims at determining the implementation of 5S programs at Muhammadiyah Elementary School Ambarbinangun Tirtonirmolo Bantul which include: General character education in general, teacher's understanding toward character education through 5S and principals and teachers efforts in building students character through 5S.</p><p>               This research is a case study qualitative research. Data collection techniques used in this research were interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques using data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. Data validity techniques used in this research was source and data triangulations.</p><p>               The results of this study indicate that Muhammadiyah Elementary School, Ambarbinangun has carried out the formation of student character through habituation of the implementation of the 5S as follows: (1) the teacher has understood the nature of character education well, (2) the implementation of the 5S is based on self-development which includes routine school activities, spontaneous activities, exemplary and conditioning. 5S is also implemented in the learning activities through; school’s curriculum, scoring and subjects. The school principal’s roles are coordinating, mobilizing, and harmonizing the implementation of teaching and learning processes at the school. Meanwhile, teachers give the students motivation to have better characters. It can be seen from the students’ routine activities to stay in lines in front of the class before entering each room then shaking hands with the teacher.</p><p>Keywords: Character building, application of 5 S (<em>senyum, sapa, salam , sopan santun</em>)</p>

The objectives of this study are (1) to describe the implementation of the regulatory supervision of the elementary school learning activities, and (2) to describe the implications of the implementation of the regulatory supervision of the elementary school learning activities. The place of research in SDN  Ngadirejan Pringkuku Pacitan. Collecting data using observations, interviews and documentation. Analysis using data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results showed that: (1) Implementation of the regulatory supervision of teaching in schools on SDN Ngadirejan are in three stages, the school superintendent supervision is based on collaboration with the principal; Problems faced by the school supervisor is supervising the status of rank, seniority and friendship.  (2) The implications of the effectiveness of the regulatory supervision of school on school teaching are the level of preparedness of the schools, the school is very positive perception that supervisors provide assistance, guidance, direction and experience of the teacher towards professionalism and very few negative perceptions, success are achieved after supervision is the existence of physical development for the better.

This research focuses on the role of Al Muhajirin Orphanage in Palu City in building religious character of children reviewed from Islamic law. This research used qualitative research method through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation study. The data obtained were analyzed using data reduction technique, data presentation, data verification, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that: (1). The caregivers' efforts in building the religious character of children were strongly supported by the situation and condition of Al Muhajirin Orphanage marked by the stay of foster children in the dormitory, so that religious-based character building could be performed optimally. The religious-based character values that were developed including being religious, disciplined, like to read, caring for the environment, responsible, and honest. The implementation of religious-based character formation aims to make a person as a good human being. The forms of implementation of character education are manifested by cultivating the faith, providing guidance, providing good role models, enforcing rules, providing advice, motivation, and conducting supervision (2). Islamic law review of the role of caregiver included educating, teaching, and training. Educating means transmitting and developing the values of life/personality. Teaching means transmitting and developing science and technology. While, training means developing skills in foster children based on QS. Al-Kahfi [18] 66-70. Meanwhile, character building in Islam is the same as moral education and it is also a purification of the soul and character of humans to become righteous humans based on the Quran and hadith.

This research is aimed to know the correlation of the Character Building in Family and School to the Child’s Learning Achievement at the Elementary School Based on the Muslims and Budha Religion in the City of Medan. This is a correlation research using quantitative approach. The population used in this research are grades four and five pupils of the elementary school based on Muslim and Budha religion in the city of Medan with the total of six hundred pupils. The sampling quota was used in sampling process. Datas in this research were obtained by using character building questionnaire in families and school. The analysis technique in this research is using Statistic Program For Social Science (SPSS). The calculation result showed that the answer of the respondents about the five aspects; religion, honesty, dicipline, social solidarity and responsibility proved that the character building of pupils in the family and school correlates to pupils learning achievement.

This article aims to describe the leadership strategies of village guardian at PandaiSikek village and society’s participation in achieving village achievement at national level in 2014. The approach from this research is descriptive with qualitative research type. Data collection was done through interview and documentation in the form of interview guides, cell phones, and notebooks. The informants of this research were village guardian, staffs of village guardian, jorong guardian, customary figures, chairman of KAN, chairman of Bamus, chairman of LPM, BundoKanduang, chairman of youth and society at PandaiSikek village. Next, the triangulation data sources is the valid testing technique of data and the last data analysis techniques which are used by using data collection, data reduction, presentation of data, and withdrawal of conclusions. The results of research indicate that the strategies which are used by village guardian of PandaiSikek village for the first is cooperating with the set and high institutions of village in making decisions by ways of deliberation and consensus; second, involving society in every activity by spreading the invitation formally; third, motivating society to improve the quality of human resources by conducting useful training; and fourth, improving communication among jorong society by creating events which can improve communication in society.Meanwhile,the society’s roles of PandaiSikek village in reaching village achievement are : first, participating in the development process by cooperating and working together; second, following village’s activities by attending known activities through formal invitation; third, taking part in the training which was held by becoming part of the training and fourth, establishing good communication among the society by following the events held by village. Nagari Berprestasi : Strategi Kepemimpinan Wali Nagari dan Peran Masyarakat di Nagari Pandai Sikek PUTRIA ANJELA[1] Program Studi Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan FIS Universitas Negeri Padang Email: [email protected] Abstrak Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan strategi kepemimpinan Wali Nagari Nagari Pandai Sikek dan peran serta masyarakat dalam meraih nagari berprestasi di tingkat nasional tahun 2014.Jenis penelitian merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dengan cara wawancara dan dokumentasi melalui alat pengumpulan data berupa pedoman wawancara, handphone serta buku catatan. Kemudian Informan penelitiannya adalah Wali Nagari, Staf-Staf Wali Nagari, Wali Jorong, Tokoh Adat, Ketua KAN, Ketua Bamus, Ketua LPM, Bundo Kanduang, Ketua Pemuda dan Masyarakat Nagari Pandai Sikek. Selanjutnya teknik pengujian keabsahan data dengan menggunakan teknik triangulasi sumber data dan yang terakhir teknik analisis data dengan cara pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Adapun hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi-strategi yang digunakan oleh Wali Nagari Pandai Sikek yaitu pertama, bekerjasama dengan perangkat dan lembaga tinggi nagari dalam mengambil keputusan dengan cara musyawarah dan mufakat; kedua, melibatkan masyarakat dalam setiap kegiatan nagari dengan cara menyebarkan undangan secara resmi; ketiga, memotivasi masyarakat untuk meningkatkan kualitas SDM dengan cara mengadakan pelatihan-pelatihan yang bermanfaat; dankeempat, meningkatkan komunikasi antar masyarakat jorong dengan cara membuat acara yang dapat meningkatkan komunikasi masyarakat. Adapun peran serta masyarakat Nagari Pandai Sikek dalam meraih nagari berprestasi adalah: pertama, berpartisipasi dalam proses pembangunan dengan cara bekerjasama dan bergotong royong; kedua, mengikuti kegiatan-kegiatan Nagari dengan cara menghadiri kegiatan yang sudah diketahui melalui undangan resmi; ketiga,mengikuti pelatihan-pelatihan yang diadakan dengan cara menjadi bagian dari pelatihan tersebut dan keempat, menjalin komunikasi yang baik sesame masyarakat dengan cara mengikuti acara-acara yang diadakan oleh nagari. This study aims to determine the analysis of the implementation of the competence of public elementary school teachers in Sungai Raya subdistrict, Kubu Regency. The study was conducted in Sungai Raya Subdistrict with 29 elementary school teachers. Data collected are pedagogical, personal, social, and professional competencies using data collection tools in the form of interview sheets, non-participant observation sheets, and documentation. Data analysis uses a checklist matrix technique with several stages, namely: data collection, data reduction, data display, drawing conclusions. The results showed that: First, the implementation of pedagogical competencies by public elementary school teachers in Sungai Raya Subdistrict, Kubu Raya District, was interpreted that the teacher's ability to educate reached an average of 3.37 with a good category. Second, the personality competency of public elementary school teachers in Sungai Raya Subdistrict, Kubu Raya Regency, averaged 3.30 in the good category. Third, the social competency of public elementary school teachers in Sungai Raya District is an average of 3.37 with a good category. The four professional competencies of public elementary school teachers in Sungai Raya District reach an average of 3.30 in the good category. The results of this study, it is suggested to be a reference for similar research related to teacher competencies, which should be part of the teacher to dedicate himself to serve especially elementary school teachers in Sungai Raya District Kubu Raya District.

Elementary school teachers are one of the sources of student’s misconceptions, so their understanding needs to be identified. However, the process of identifying the understanding of the concept of science is still small and only on certain materia. This study was aimed to investigate elementary school teacher's understanding of sound concepts. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive type. The research data are sourced from elementary school teachers' answers to questions about the concept of high and low sounds, in the form of a teacher's justification for the statement of questions presented along with the discussion. The population was all grade 4 elementary school teachers in Surakarta (120 teacher), the sample of 30 teachers from public and private elementary schools, the status accreditation A and B, with a purposive random sampling technique. The sample taken consisted of teachers in the age range of 30 to 60 years, 11 male teachers and 19 female teachers, and 50% were certified educators. Data collection techniques are carried out by providing diagnostic tests of misconceptions on the subject of the concept of high and low sounds. Data analysis technique refers to the category of concept understanding formulated by Tuysuz (2009), which is understanding, misconception, not understanding, and guessing. The results showed that in understanding the concept of high and low sounds 1.11% of teachers understood the concept well, 71.11% of teachers did not understand the concept, 26.67% of teachers experienced misconceptions, and 1.11% of teachers guessed.

This study aims to know the effect of poetry writing module using based on character education in contextual learning on learning result to write poetry of elementary school students in Bajawa sub-district. This research type is quantitative research (true experimental design) with the design of posttest only control design. The population taken in this research is the students of grade V elementary school in Bajawa with multistage sampling technique. Data sources are 88 students of class V, data collection techniques with test and questionnaire results of observation. The validity of the data is validity content. Data analysis technique uses independent t test. The results of this study indicate that there is an influence of poetry writing module using based on character education in contextual learning on student learning result in grade V of elementary school.
