Questions to the Article: Comparative Analysis of Search Strings in PubMed on the COVID-19 Pandemic (Preprint)

BACKGROUND The recent article published on November 27 in 2020 is well-written but remains several questionable issues that are required to clarifications further, particularly for readers who hope to replicate this study using a longer period of months instead of the original days from March 11 to May 19, 2020. OBJECTIVE Redo the study using a longer period of time to examine the difference from and similarity to the previous study and present results using visual representations. METHODS Similar search schemes were compared to the golden standard(LitCovid) using three metrics of sensitivity, precision, and F-score. We applied similar search schemes to extract publications related to COVID-19 from January to November in Pubmed Central(PMC). The Kano model was applied to present the study results divided into three groups of high sensitivity, high precision, and neutral. Comparison of publication counts was made using the line plot to display. RESULTS We observed that the comprehensive search scheme recommended by the original authors was ranked at the third placement instead of the first one shown in this study. A small number of articles extracted from the PMC were attributable to the reasons for schemes with (1) only one keyword of coronavirus, (2) that totally constrained by Wuhan, and (3) that hyphen and space misused in keyword terms. Scheme 2, authored by Shokraneh in the journal of BMJ, was ranked first, followed by Schemes 9 and 1 with F-scores at 97.9, 90.2, and 87.3, respectively. The single-term search COVID-19 performed best in terms of precision (99.9%) but not well in terms of sensitivity (76.6%) and F-score (86.7%). The term Wuhan virus performed the worst: 24.2% for sensitivity, 90.9% for precision, and 138.2% for F-score due to the reason for using AND condition in the search string. All 32 schemes were compared and displayed on the Kano diagram. CONCLUSIONS Different results were displayed using similar search schemes with a longer period of time from January to November in 2020. Scheme 2 is recommended for the bibliometric study related to COVID-19 in the future. The Kano diagram can be a visual display to compare search schemes based on precision(on Axis X), sensitivity(on Axis Y), and F-score(by bubble size) laid on a dashboard. CLINICALTRIAL Nil

PurposeThis study aims to revise the weights in the interrelationship matrix of the house of quality.Desqign/methodology/approachAfter determining customer requirements (CRs) and product design characteristics (PDCs), a house of quality (HoQ) has been developed and the interrelationships between CRs and PDCs have been determined and classified using the Kano model. The PDCs have been prioritized based on the classic HoQ and the revised HoQ. Finally the results have been compared and discussed. The television design of Entekhab Industrial Group, the largest producer of home appliance products in Iran has been selected as a case study.FindingsResults indicated different sets of priorities derived from the two approaches. Particularly, the difference between the revised HoQ and the classic approach was due to the nonlinear relationship between CRs and PDCs.Research limitations/implicationsThis study was performed merely on a single product of a company, and the case study results cannot be generalized to all of the home appliance industries.Originality/valueDeveloping the application of the Kano model in computing and revising the weights of the cells in the interrelationship matrix of HoQ is the main contribution of this paper.

SummaryIn not infected knee prostheses bone scintigraphy is a possible method to diagnose mechanical loosening, and therefore, to affect treatment regimes in symptomatic patients. However, hitherto studies showed controversial results for the reliability of bone scintigraphy in diagnosing loosened knee prostheses by using asymptomatic control groups. Therefore, the aim of our study was to optimize the interpretation procedure and to evaluate the accuracy using results from revision surgery as standard. Methods: Retrospectively, we were able to examine the tibial component in 31 cemented prostheses. In this prostheses infection was excluded by histological or bacteriological examination during revision surgery. To quantify bone scintigraphy, we used medial and lateral tibial regions with a reference region from the contralateral femur. Results: To differentiate between loosened and intact prostheses we found a threshold of 5.0 for the maximum tibia to femur ratio of the both tibial regions and a threshold of 18% for the difference of the ratio of both tibial regions. Using these thresholds, values of 0.9, 1, 0.85, 1, and 0.94 were calculated for sensitivity, specificity, negative predictive value, positive predictive value, and accuracy, respectively. To get a sensitivity of 1, we found a lower threshold of 3.3 for the maximum tibia to femur ratio. Conclusion: Quantitative bone scintigraphy appears to be a reliable diagnostic tool for aseptic loosening of knee prostheses with thresholds evaluated by revision surgery results being the golden standard.

Purpose: Bruch’s membrane opening-minimum rim width (BMO-MRW) and RNFL measured using anatomic positioning system (APS-RNFL) are novel OCT methods and remained unexplored in MS patients. To investigate the novel parameters of spectral-domain OCT as an alternative biomarker in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). Methods: Retrospective cohort study; participants consisted of relapsing-remitting MS (RRMS) patients and healthy controls (HC). Eyes were classified according to the presence of MS and previous optic neuritis (ON). Measurements of standard peripapillary RNFL (S-RNFL), BMO-MRW, and APS-RNFL were performed. Result: A total of 244 eyes of 122 participants (MS-patients: 63, HC: 59) were included in the study. Fifty-one eyes had a history of previous ON. In almost all measured parameters, neuroretinal rim thicknesses were observed the thinnest in eyes with ON history between all subgroups. S-RNFL and APS-RNFL techniques showed the difference in neuroretinal rim thickness in all three subjects (ON+, ON−, and HC). However, BMO-MRW, on the other hand, could not distinguish between ON(−) patients and HC. The relationship between OCT parameters and EDSS were observed only in eyes with an ON history in all three techniques. A meaningful model with 78% accuracy was obtained by using only the OCT parameters as risk factors. In the ROC analysis, no parameters were found to have acceptable high sensitivity and specificity. BMO-MRW was statistically weaker in every aspect than other RNFL techniques. Conclusion: The novel APS-RNFL technique appears to be a bit more reliable alternative to S-RNFL technique to support therapeutic decision-making in MS. BMO-MRW has not been found as a successful alternative to S-RNFL.

Abstract Herein, an efficient electrochemical sensing platform is proposed for selective and sensitive detection of nitrite on the basis of Cu@C@Zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (Cu@C@ZIF-8) heterostructure. Core-shell Cu@C@ZIF-8 composite was synthesized by pyrolysis of Cu-metal-organic framework@ZIF-8 (Cu-MOF@ZIF-8) in Ar atmosphere on account of the difference of thermal stability between Cu-MOF and ZIF-8. For the sensing system of Cu@C@ZIF-8, ZIF-8 with proper pore size allows nitrite diffuse through the shell, while big molecules cannot, which ensures high selectivity of the sensor. On the other hand, Cu@C as electrocatalyst promotes the oxidation of nitrite, thereby resulting high sensitivity of the sensor. Accordingly, the Cu@C@ZIF-8 based sensor presents excellent performance for nitrite detection, which achieves a wide linear response range of 0.1 µM to 300.0 µM, and a low limit of detection (LOD) of 0.033 µM. In addition, the Cu@C@ZIF-8 sensor possesses excellent stability and reproducibility, and was employed to quantify nitrite in sausage samples with recoveries of 95.45-104.80%.

AbstractThe Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 virus (SARS-CoV-2) poses a worldwide human health crisis, causing respiratory illness with a high mortality rate. To investigate the factors governing codon usage bias in all the respiratory viruses, including SARS-CoV-2 isolates from different geographical locations (~62K), including two recently emerging strains from the United Kingdom (UK), i.e., VUI202012/01 and South Africa (SA), i.e., 501.Y.V2 codon usage bias (CUBs) analysis was performed. The analysis includes RSCU analysis, GC content calculation, ENC analysis, dinucleotide frequency and neutrality plot analysis. We were motivated to conduct the study to fulfil two primary aims: first, to identify the difference in codon usage bias amongst all SARS-CoV-2 genomes and, secondly, to compare their CUBs properties with other respiratory viruses. A biased nucleotide composition was found as most of the highly preferred codons were A/U-ending in all the respiratory viruses studied here. Compared with the human host, the RSCU analysis led to the identification of 11 over-represented codons and 9 under-represented codons in SARS-CoV-2 genomes. Correlation analysis of ENC and GC3s revealed that mutational pressure is the leading force determining the CUBs. The present study results yield a better understanding of codon usage preferences for SARS-CoV-2 genomes and discover the possible evolutionary determinants responsible for the biases found among the respiratory viruses, thus unveils a unique feature of the SARS-CoV-2 evolution and adaptation. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first attempt at comparative CUBs analysis on the worldwide genomes of SARS-CoV-2, including novel emerged strains and other respiratory viruses.

In the operating theatre, anesthesiologists monitor an anesthetized patient’s oxygen saturation (SpO2) with a visual display but also with an auditory tone, or sonification. However, if the anesthesiologist must divide their attention across tasks, they may be less effective at recognising their patient’s SpO2 level. Previous research indicates that a sonification enhanced with additional sound dimensions of tremolo and brightness more effectively supports participants’ identification of SpO2 ranges than a conventional sonification does. This laboratory study explored the effect of a secondary task on participants’ ability to identify SpO2 range when using a conventional sonification (LogLinear sonification) versus an enhanced sonification (Stepped Effects sonification). Nineteen non-clinician participants who used the Stepped Effects sonification were significantly more effective at identifying SpO2 range ( Md = 100%) than were 18 participants using the LogLinear sonification ( Md = 80%). Range identification performance of participants using the Stepped Effects sonification tended to be less disrupted by a concurrent arithmetic task (drop from Md = 100% to 95%) than it was for participants using the LogLinear sonification (drop from Md = 80% to 73%). However, the disruption effect in each case was small, and the difference in disruption across sonifications was not statistically significant. Future research will test the sonifications under more intense cognitive load and in the presence of ambient noise.

The purpose of the study was to determine the role and place of whole body MRI with DWIBS in diagnosis of human loco-motor system oncologic pathology. Two hundred fifty six patients with presumptive diagnosis of oncologic disease were examined. Obtained signal was evaluated by true signal intensity scale in minimal examination volume (voxel), either drawn through the volumetric lesion or in an isolated area of arbitrary shape. Study results were verified using standard MRI protocols (T1, T2, STIR), contrast enhancement, MSCT, radionuclide and morphologic examination. High sensitivity of the technique to pathologically changed tissues with reduced water diffusion coefficient was demonstrated. Magnetic resonance diffusion-weighted whole-body imaging with DWIBS may be recommended as noninvasive screening technique for the diagnosis of both primary and secondary (metastases) oncologic process.

In order to evaluate the URTPSQ (Urban Rail Transit Passenger Service Quality) comprehensively, find the shortage of URTPSQ, find out the difference between the actual service situation and the passenger’s expectation and demand,and provide passengers with better travel services, a passenger-oriented KANO–Entropy–TOPSIS (Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) method is proposed and applied in this paper. Firstly, a KANO model is applied to select the service quality indicators from the 24 URTPSQ evaluation sub-indicators, according to the selection results, the KANO service quality indicators of URTPSQ are constructed. Then the sensitivity of the KANO service quality indicators based on the KANO model are calculated and ranked, the PS (Passenger Satisfaction) of each KANO service quality indicator by using the Entropy–TOPSIS method is calculated and ranked. Based on the difference between the sensitivity degree rank and the satisfaction degree rank of each KANO service quality indicator, determine the service quality KANO indicators of the URTPSQ that need to be improved significantly. A case study is conducted by taking the Chengdu subway system in China as a background. The results show that the Chengdu subway operation enterprises should pay attention to the must-be demand first, then the one-dimensional demand, finally the attractive demand. The three indicators, including transfer on the same floor in the station, service quality of staffs of urban rail transit enterprises,and cleanness in the station and passenger coach, need to be improved urgently. For the managers and operators of urban rail transit system, the passengers’ must-be demand should be satisfied first if the KANO model is applied to evaluate the service. The indicators with highest sensitivity degree and lowest TOPSIS value should be improved based on the KANO–Entropy–TOPSIS model.

Islam teaches the difference in someone's level of religiosity. The level of human religiosity can change from one moment to another. Humans have evolved a religious life. Including human experience in adulthood elderly in life and face the problems of life. This study focused on the real description of the attitude of religiosity which is owned by the elderly. The study was taken from the students at the boarding school Elderly Islamic boarding school (Pesantren) of Roudlotul Muta'allimin Dracik Kramat Batang. The research method used descriptive qualitative approach to straight dialogue (interview) of the respondents, namely the students of Elderly Islamic Boarding School (Pesantren). The study results showed that each of the students have the different religious involvement in filling elderly period (retirement). The involvement includes Ritual Involvement, Ideological Involvement, Intellectual involvement, experimental involvement, and consequential involvement.

We studied the effects of acute external acidification on the acid-base status and plasma and red cell ion concentrations of lampreys. Mortality was observed within 24 h at pH5 and especially at pH4. The main reason for the high sensitivity of lampreys to acid water appears to be the large drop in blood pH: 0.6 and 0.8 units after 24 h at pH5 and pH4, respectively. The drop of plasma pH is much larger than in teleost fishes exposed to similar pH values. The difference in the plasma pH response between lampreys and teleosts probably results from the low buffering capacity of lamprey blood, since red cells cannot participate in buffering extracellular acid loads. Acidification also caused a decrease in both Na+ and C− concentrations and an elevation in K+ concentration of plasma. The drop in plasma Na+ concentration occurred faster than the drop in plasma Cl− concentration which, in turn, coincided with the decrease in total CO2 concentration of the blood.
