Suggestions to the article: Visualizing Collaboration Characteristics and Topic Burst on International Mobile Health Research (Preprint)

UNSTRUCTURED The article published on 5 June 2018 is well-written and of interest, but remains several questions that are required for clarifications, such as (1) the logical growth curve and the inflection point applied to Figure 2 did not explain the source of theory in literature; (2) the 27 keywords with a frequency not less than 10 and burst strength not less than 2 were not consistent with those extracted from the article shown in Multimedia Appendix 7; and (3) the computation of burst strength for keywords is unclear and requires further interpretations. We obtained the original data from the article and verified (1) the equation of the growth curve and the determination of inflection point on a given ogive curve; (2) the visualization of 23 keywords can be on a dashboard using the temporal bar graph to display; and (3) the computation of burst strength for keywords should be explained further in the article. We found that the equation fitting to the cumulative number of publications over years since 1997 is somewhat different from ours, though the inflection point is identical; (2) the visualization combined with other valuable information on topic bursts is merit good for applications in bibliographic studies; (3) the burst strength combined with frequency and burst coefficient through a formula(=ln(sqrt(frequency × burst coefficient)+1) can be applied to future studies. The three ways to solve the questions in the article provide deeper insights into the bibliometric analysis and make the data easier and clearer to understand.

UNSTRUCTURED The article published on 28 September 2018 is well-written and of interest, but remains several questions that are required for clarifications, such as (1) the number of publications for each year should be noted at the bottom of Figure 1 so that any reader who is interested in reproducing the exponential growth curve(EGC) can compare them each other; (2) the node size in Figure 2 representing the number of author outputs, with larger size indicating more outputs, should be further clarified about the meaning in social network analysis(SNA); and (3) the burst strength and the corresponding temporal bar graphs(TBG) for keywords and citation references in Figures 7 and 9 requires further interpretations. We listed suggestions and references to the article for improvement made in the future relevant studies, including (1)the inflection point(IP) on the EGC; (2) the node size in Figure 2 should equal the weighted publication in comparison to other nodes in the network; and (3) the improved TBG combined with IP and burst strength using the bar size to represent is demonstrated. The three improved visualization of EGC, SNA, and TBG were suggested to the article and the future studies with deeper insights into the bibliometric analysis and make the data easier and clearer to understand.

Abstract Background Despite an increasing number of available mental health apps in the bipolar disorder field, these tools remain scarcely implemented in everyday practice and are quickly discontinued by patients after downloading. The aim of this study is to explore adherence characteristics of bipolar disorder patients to dedicated smartphone interventions in research studies. Methods A systematic review following PRISMA guidelines was conducted. Three databases (EMBASE, PsychInfo and MEDLINE) were searched using the following keywords: "bipolar disorder" or "mood disorder" or “bipolar” combined with “digital” or “mobile” or “phone” or “smartphone” or “mHealth” or “ehealth” or "mobile health" or “app” or “mobile-health”. Results Thirteen articles remained in the review after exclusion criteria were applied. Of the 118 eligible studies, 39 did not provide adherence characteristics. Among the selected papers, study length, sample size and definition of measures of adherence were strongly heterogeneous. Activity rates ranged from 58 to 91.6%. Conclusion The adherence of bipolar patients to apps is understudied. Standardised measures of adherence should be defined and systematically evaluated in future studies dedicated to these tools.

As policymakers and automotive stakeholders around the world seek to accelerate the electrification of road transport with hydrogen, this study focuses on the experiences of Germany, a world leader in fuel cell technology. Specifically, it identifies and compares the drivers and barriers influencing the production and market penetration of privately-owned fuel cell electric passenger vehicles (FCEVs) and fuel cell electric buses (FCEBs) in public transit fleets. Using original data collected via a survey and 17 interviews, we elicited the opinions of experts to examine opportunities and obstacles in Germany from four perspectives: (i) the supply of vehicles (ii) refuelling infrastructure, (iii) demand for vehicles, and (iv) cross-cutting institutional issues. Findings indicate that despite multiple drivers, there are significant challenges hampering the growth of the hydrogen mobility market. Several are more pronounced in the passenger FCEV market. These include the supply and cost of production, the lack of German automakers producing FCEVs, the profitability and availability of refuelling stations, and low demand for vehicles. In light of these findings, we extract implications for international policymakers and future studies. This study provides a timely update on efforts to spur the deployment of hydrogen mobility in Germany and addresses the underrepresentation of studies examining both buses and passenger vehicles in tandem.

The measurement and analysis of the intensity–direction correlation of gamma rays emitted in cascade following heavy-particle capture are treated. A procedure is discussed which is based upon the expansion of the triple-correlation intensity in terms of the set of angular functions orthogonal over the space of the emission (or absorption) directions. This is in contrast to the usual method which expresses the correlation in terms of Legendre polynomials. In the analysis procedure proposed, the population parameters are found directly from the original data, with the gamma-radiation mixing ratios assigned. The least-squares equations representing the best fit to the data contain the population parameters linearly and are solved by a standard computer program which also gives the value of χ2. The true solution is then found by varying the mixing ratios until a minimum in χ2 is reached. In addition to the determination of the population parameters of the decaying state and the mixing ratios of the gamma rays in the cascade, the calculation of the error matrix of these quantities, and the calculation of the formation parameters in simple capture, are described.

Aims and background YKL-40 is secreted by several types of tumors. Increased serum YKL-40 levels have been reported in prostate, glioblastoma, breast and colorectal cancers. Determination of YKL-40 levels may serve as a valuable biomarker for the diagnosis and treatment of gastric cancer. The purpose of this study was to determine the serum YKL-40 levels expressed in gastric carcinomas. Methods Between 2009 and 2011, we retrospectively reviewed 100 patients with gastric cancer and compared their serum samples to 75 healthy volunteers. YKL-40 levels were determined by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Results We found significantly higher serum levels of YKL-40 in patients with gastric cancer compared to the healthy population ( P < 0.0001). We also found significant differences in serum YKL-40 levels between female and male patients with gastric cancer ( P < 0.01). Conclusions YKL-40 is over-expressed in gastric cancer, suggesting a more aggressive phenotype. YKL-40 may be a useful serum biomarker for gastric cancer identification, and future studies should focus on the role of YKL-40 in the tumorigenesis of gastric cancer and responsiveness toward treatment.

The introduction of additive technologies for the manufacture of parts will significantly improve the efficiency and mobility of production. The technology of selective laser melting has the greatest accuracy in the manufacture of metal and alloyed parts. There are a number of publications on the physical and mechanical properties of such products, which often exceed the properties of materials obtained by traditional technology, but there is no data on the geometric accuracy of manufacturing. This paper provides explicit data on geometric accuracy, depending on various factors.

The k-means is the most well-known algorithm for data clustering in data mining. Its simplicity and speed of convergence to local minima are the most important advantages of it, in addition to its linear time complexity. The most important open problems in this algorithm are the selection of initial centers and the determination of the exact number of clusters in advance. This paper proposes a solution for these two problems together; by adding a preprocess step to get the expected number of clusters in data and better initial centers. There are many researches to solve each of these problems separately, but there is no research to solve both problems together. The preprocess step requires o(n log n); where n is size of the dataset. This preprocess step aims to get initial portioning of data without determining the number of clusters in advance, then computes the means of initial clusters. After that we apply k-means on original data using the resulting information from the preprocess step to get the final clusters. We use many benchmark datasets to test the proposed method. The experimental results show the efficiency of the proposed method.

Previous study of bacteriocin production on laboratory scale (100 mL) that used MRS broth medium produced unstable activity of bacteriocin. Therefore, this study aims to determine the optimum growth conditions and media for production of bacteriocin. Bacteria used in this research was a lactic acid bacteria (LAB) Lactococcus lactis ssp. lactis CN1.10a  isolated from rusip, a traditional Bangkanese fermented fish product.The bacteria was first cultivated for subsequent use of bacteriocins production on intermediate scale (2L). Followed by the optimization of temperature, pH and medium for the bacteriocin production, determination of cell growth curve, bacteriocin production curve, bacteriocin activity on that scale, and also stability of bacteriocin during storage.The results showed that the optimum temperature and pH for the growth of producer cell were 28°C and pH 6. The greatest activity of bacteriocin was produced on CM medium (1% sucrose, 0,45% peptone, 1% yeast extract, 2,84% KH2PO4, 0,2% NaCl and 0,02% MgSO4.7H20) in addition of sucrose as carbohydrate source. Based on the growth curve performedon CM medium with KH2PO4, the L. Lactis ssp lactis CN1.10a was relatively stable up to 48 hours. Bacteriocin produced by the cell was  8000 AU/mlat24th hour.Bacteriocin  was relatively stable when stored at -20°C for 1month with a relative activity of 69,4%.

A study was carried out to examine the distribution of individual weights in Helix aspersa snails, the aims being to establish the best estimate of the ponderal growth and also to obtain a model growth curve. Four groups of 20 snails from the same clutch were analysed and kept under experimental conditions from birth up to 6 months. The variability of their individual weights within groups was studied by calculating the coefficients of variation every 15 days. At the same time, the assumed normal distribution of those weights was being tested. The coefficients of variation increased with age and the assumed normal distribution of individual weights had to be rejected. By means of a log transformation of the original data, a model growth curve was constructed, and was used to assess the possibility of estimating age from weight. We finally reached the conclusion that median weight, rather than the mean, would be a better measure of central tendency to use until it is possible to obtain selected populations. The difficulty of estimating age from weight is emphasized.

AbstractQuartz is the datable component in mortar. Although its luminescence properties are very well studied, the problem of mortar dating arises from a low level of optical bleaching. In order to reduce the time consuming efforts for dating lime mortar in monuments by optically stimulated luminescence, we investigated the most suitable methods of dose and dose rate determination, and we explored tests which are suitable to predict the datability of a given material. Reverting to the large number of publications on sedimentary partially bleached quartz we found linear modulation techniques especially useful, equally we also recommend the determination of the level of optical depletion before starting analyses. Single grain analysis is regarded as an ultimate but infallible tool to date very poorly bleached quartz from mortar. Dose rate measurements need to take into account the radioactive equilibrium of the uranium decay and the short range inhomogeneity of the environmental gamma radiation field: gamma spectrometry and on-site TLD measurements are best suited.
