The phenomenon of volunteering reveals itself through the time a person spends for volunteering, through the duration of the volunteering, the area in which volunteering occurs, and the age group of the volunteers. Object of the study – volunteering experiences of young adults. The issue of the research is how young adults experience volunteering in the social help field. The research is phenomenological and not focusing on any foreseen objectives, oriented to the experience of the volunteers. According to phenomenological approach, research methodology was Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis. In this article, part of the research is presented, giving deeper view on one of the super-ordinates theme, with the aim: to present change of control relation into the trust relationship with the Other in long term and full-time volunteering. In the study participated 6 research participants, 3 young men and 3 young women, 20 to 30 years old. To collect data of the research we used semi-structured interviews. Conclusions of the study, presented in this article, reveal: 1) The volunteers' experience of volunteering shows that the relationship of control in trying to fit the lives of met people into a personal imagination – what life should be like – changes through confrontation, surprise and even shock to discover authentic relationship of trust based no longer on appreciation but on intimacy and communion; 2) Hidden abilities of volunteers, new opportunities and self-disclosure are possible when a close relationship of trust is created; 3) Abandoning preconceptions about the Other and volunteering, the study participants changed the relationship of control to a relationship of trust. On that base, they began to volunteer in their environment without waiting for permission, instructions or other actions to legalize volunteering. As the relationship changed, as control shifted to a trust-based relationship with those around them, volunteers, realizing the experience, discovered the significance of volunteering, empowered by trust, and personal freedom and creativity; 4) The relativity of the study participants in volunteering was experienced dialogically, seeing the person and associating themselves with the person, and thus experiencing a constant interplay as ignorance, uncertainty, but at the same time as devotion and trust.

The article analyzes the relationship between the corporate culture of a multinational company headquartered in the United States, which enjoys great prestige worldwide, and the business environment and practices in Venezuela, where it has an operation. The prevailing culture in the corporation is North American and the top managers come from their country of origin. In Venezuela, on the other hand, most of the companies are family-owned, and personal contacts and influences prevail. The research is oriented to the elaboration of a qualitative diagnosis, through rigorous observation and semi-structured interviews. The results revealed that there is resistance on the part of Venezuelan managers to follow the culture of a strict company governed by rules set in a very different economic and political context. The ambiguity between acceptance and low identification with the values of the parent company leads to think of corporate culture as fragmented.

Flexibility in adjustment on the part of the interviewer is commonly regarded as one of the main qualifications for good interviewing and part of an interviewer's skill. The high estimation of the spontaneity of the interviewing situation, which has been one of the main reasons why the interview as a technique has retained its popularity against more standardized and reliable methods, rests largely on the presupposition that skilled interviewers can adjust their own behaviour and steer the interviewing situation freely so as to obtain optimum rapport and maximum information. Thus Oldfield (5) considers changes of topic, attitute and tempo of great significance for the conduct of the interview. He particularly stresses the importance of changes of tempo; pauses in the conversation, he says, if “badly chosen may easily break the trend of the relationship which is being built up. On the other hand, if well chosen, they may contribute markedly to the success of the interview.” No evidence, however, exists to show to what extent skilled interviewers actually are free to adjust themselves to any particular interviewing task or which aspects of their interviewing behaviour are more subject to adjustment than others.

ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to understand how students graduating from accounting master’s courses perceived the feelings experienced in the different dissertation guidance phases. This investigation enables us to identify which stages generate negative feelings and to thus propose actions to improve the affective relationship between the advisor and student, considering that the feelings substantially affect the potential of the scientific works originating from that relationship. The advisor-student relationship and the feelings involved in it are among the main factors that positively or negatively affect the conclusion of the academic work, and understanding it is important in order to improve this interaction process. One of the implications of the research relates to the importance of stricto sensu programs monitoring the guidance process and somehow searching for mechanisms that promote harmony in the guidance process, as the experiences during the dissertation guidance process can affect the student’s likelihood of continuing on their academic journey. For the data collection, a survey was conducted in which the participants used emojis to represent the feelings experienced in their relationship with the advisor during the construction of their master’s dissertation. In addition, semi-structured interviews were carried out, which enabled the elaboration of a collective subject discourse regarding the feelings experienced during the dissertation guidance process. The 88 responses and eight interviews enabled the identification of feelings such as anxiety, fear, and insecurity in the first phases of the dissertation building. Abandonment, confusion, and frustration were felt in the last phases of the relationship with the advisor. Regarding the positive feelings, there are indications of joy, satisfaction, and calm, presenting greater frequency in the last stages of the dissertation. The collective subject discourses also indicated that the relationship with the advisor affected the quality of the scientific research and the student’s academic trajectory.
