Year by year, the amount of elderly who lives at nursing home in Bali are increasingly. Most of them be carried to nursing home by their families with a reason that they are not able to take care of their elderly at home. It makes that there is a lot of elderly think negatively about the decision to put them at nursing home. Negative thinking makes them have a low self esteem. According to it, this study aiming to see the relationship positive thinking and self esteem to the elderly. This study is a correlational study between 84 elders who lives at nursing home in Bali as a subject. Method of data collection in this study is using questionnaires. The variable of positive thinking is measured positive thinking questionnaire, and the variable of self esteem is measured by self esteem questionnaire. Both of them are already valid and reliable. Positive thinking questionnaire consist of 22 items which validity range from 0,259 to 0,935 and the coefficient reliability is 0,944. Self esteem questionnaire consist of 23 items which validity range from 0,282 to 0,938 and the coefficient reliability is 0,959. The result of nonparametric Kendall’s Tau show that there is a significant relationship between positive thinking and self esteem (r=0,422 ; p=0,000). It that can be concluded that variable of positive thinking can explain the variable of self esteem in 17,8%. It can explain that the hypothesis  which stating that there is a relationship between positive thinking and self esteem to the elderly who lives at nursing home in Bali can be accepted. The other things that can explain about the relationship between positive thinking and self esteem are because the elderly able to; (1)accept themselves and their condition, (2) adapt with their environment, (3) see themselves positively, (4) show their power, (5) show their competence.   Keyword : positive thinking, self esteem, elderly, and nursing home

Title: Living Arrangement Pattern Nursing Home Occupants Based Activities and BehaviorPhysical comfort in a building can give an effect to the psychological inhabitans. In the design of nursing homes, where the residents are elderly, certainly they have a different physical comfort with a younger people. The degenerative disease on elderly cause the need for special attention in architecture, especially on safety and comfort. Currently the nursing homes, mostly do not noticed it well, so still discovered lots of the elderlies got an accident and depressed in a nursing home. This research purpose to know the relationship between the aspects of both comfort and safety for elderly in nursing home that can make the elderly feel comfortable and happy living in their residence. The methods of this research is as follows: first, understand the criteria of elderly in related literatures and observations regarding to the elderly and other related literatures that subscribe with safety and comfort. Second, the literatures study were used to analyze the case study such as Nursing Home Wisma Mulia (Jakarta), Nursing Home Senjarawi (Bandung), and Nursing Home Muara Kasih (Bogor). The results of analysis from the case studies based on the literature, produce an architectural design criteria for the review occupancy elderly. The results of this research concluded that the design of the comfortable and safe against risk of any accident that may occur to the elderly, provided a circulation which can be passes by two wheelchairs at once and freeway, provided handrail in the circulation, provided ramp in any difference level of floor, and using a contrast color but dominant in light and warm color. The other considerations are the availability nostalgic room, playroom for children and the other facility that make the frequency of their families, visiting more often.Keywords: Elderly , safety , comfort , nursing homes.

The background of this research is the lack of motivation of the elderly to participate in the  posyandu for the elderly in Jorong Baruah Gunuang 1. The lack of knowledge of the elderly is thought to be due to the lack of knowledge about the existence of the posyandu for the elderly in Jorong Baruah Gunuang1. This study aims to: 1) describe the knowledge of the elderly about the posyandu for the elderly  2) describe the motivation of the elderly to follow the posyandu for the elderly; 3) looking at the relationship between knowledge and motivation in the elderly to follow the posyandu for the elderly in Jorong Baruah Gunuang 1. This type of this research is correlational quantitative research. The population in this study was taken by the elderly in Jorong Baruah Gunuang 1, totaling 58 people, aged 60-70 years, who did not attend the elderly posyandu. The sample was taken as much as 52% with a total of 30 peoples, the technique of this research is  using random sampling. The data collection techniques used were questionnaires and tests, while the data collection tools were a list of statements and questions. The technique used to analyze the data in this study are the percentage formula and product moment. The results showed that: (1) The knowledge of the elderly in  posyandu for the elderly is categorized as low, (2) the motivation of the elderly to follow the posyandu for the elderly is categorized as low, (3) there is a significant relationship between knowledge and motivation of the elderly to participate in posyandu for the elderly activities in Jorong Baruah Gunuang 1. The  Suggestion of this study is the person in charge of the program and cadres should do more outreach to the community on the importance of posyandu for the elderly.Keywords: Knowledge, motivation, elderly

This journal explains the results of cohesion and coherence analysis in the current new news discourse in Indonesia published by Republika, Thursday 16 May 2019. The research uses descriptive methods by describing and explaining the results of the analysis found in the study. This research is a type of qualitative research because the results tend to be released and descriptive. the technique used in this study is to take data, data collection is done in two ways, namely listening and taking notes. This study found the results of the use of cohesion and and the use of coherence. Cohesion is the integration between the parts that are characterized by the use of language elements. Cohesion is divided into two parts, lexical cohesion and grammatical cohesion. Grammatical cohesion includes conjunction, reference, release, substitution. Lexical cohesion includes antonyms, synonyms, repetitions, metonymy, and hypomini. Whereas, cohorence is the relationship between elements one with the other elements so that it has an integrated meaning.

The present study aimed at testing a model developed to uncover the relationships among social media addiction, cognitive absorption, and self-esteem. This studys’ sample consisted of 361 university students, 198 of whom were females, and 163 were males. Data were collected using the Social Media Addiction Scale (SMAS), the Cognitive Absorption Scale (CAS), and the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES). Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) was used to analyse the data. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between cognitive absorption and social media addiction; thus, cognitive absorption predicted social media addiction. A negative and significant relationship between self-esteem and social media addiction was also found; thus, self-esteem predicted social media addiction.

This study aims to find the effect of the implemetation of the Mingle Model on productive language skills and the relationship to the personality based on Carl Gustav Jung Theory in Arabic learning at MTsN Batu City, East Java. This research used a quantitative approach by combining the experimental and correlation methods, it was applying the Mingle Model to improve students' productive skills (speaking and writing) which have been divided into two groups; the Experiment and Control group and connected using the correlation method to extroverted and introverted students based on the theory of Carl Gustav Jung. Data collection through questionnaires, tests, and documentation. The results showed that there was a significant relationship to students' productive skills after applying the Mingle Model and there were no significant differences between extroverted and introverted students. This research recommend that the Mingle Model can be applied to improve students' productive skills. This study recommends further research to utilise more varied research methods with more diverse variables.

This research was motivated by the low participation of mothers under five to come to the posyandu, presumably because mothers of toddlers were less interested in the activities of the Bunga Tanjung Gasan Gadang Posyandu, Padang Pariaman Regency. This study aims to see a description of the interests of mothers of children under five, to see the description of the participation of mothers of children under five, and to see the relationship between interest and the participation of mothers of children under five. This type of research is quantitative with a correlational approach. The population of this study were all parents/participants in the posyandu as many as 29 people. While the sample was taken using a purposive technique as much as 75% of the population of 21 people. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. Meanwhile, for the data analysis technique, the percentage formula and the rho sperm formula were used. The results of this study indicate that a) the interest of mothers of children under five in posyandu activities is still low; b) the participation of mothers under five in posyandu activities is still low; and c) there is a significant relationship between interest and participation of mothers under five in posyandu activities. It is recommended to posyandu cadres to carry out various creativity that can develop the interest of mothers of toddlers so that they participate in participating in every activity in posyandu and mothers of toddlers to participate in posyandu activities.

Adolescence is a unique time in the phase of teenage life, where a person who has entered adolescence has a unique characteristic. With these distinctive characters, teenagers are required to be able to adjust well to the surrounding individuals. However, not all teenagers have a good adjustment. This has become one of the obstacles in the lives of teenagers to lead a healthy life. One other obstacle is the problem of emotional maturity, because there are still many teenagers who do not have good emotional maturity. This study aims to determine the relationship between emotional maturity and adjustment at SMPN 19 Surabaya. The study population was all students of class VIII, totaling 261 people and a sample of 106 students. The sampling technique used in this study is non random sampling with data collection techniques in the form of questionnaires arranged on a Likert scale. The study showed very significant results, where the value of r = 0.809 with p = 0.000 (p <0.010). This means that the proposed hypothesis is accepted. Emotional maturity has a very significant relationship with adapting to adolescents at SMPN 19 Surabaya

Depression has strong relationship with diabetes mellitus and the aspect of psychology has influence toward the diabetes patient as control. This research aimed to find out the role of psychological factors in dealing with depression suffered by patient of DM-2 and to see the dynamics of both direct and indirect relationship of psychological factors toward the depression of DM-2 patient. The main model is a model that can bring effect of mediation between social support and depression caused by DM-2. Optimism can provide mediating effect of the relationship between social support and self-esteem. Resilience can provide mediating effect of the relationship between social support and self-esteem. Similarly, self-esteem acts as the mediator of the relationship between optimism and resilience toward the depression of DM-2 patient. The result of estimation parameter test showed the direct relationship between social support toward optimism (0.717), resilience (0.811), self-esteem (0.269) and depression (-0.210) and the direct role to depression (-0.397). The higher social support and self-esteem will cause the higher optimism and resilience. On the other hand, the role of self-esteem showed negative coefficient. On the other hand, the role of self-esteem to depression showed a negative coefficient is, the higher self-esteem will be followed by the decrease of depression in patient with DM-2. The aim of this study was to see the meaning of life in the elderly who live in the nursing home. The benefits that are expected to have in this research include theoretical benefits, which are expected to be a reference material for the development of developmental psychology, especially psychogerontology and practical benefits to be a reference material for psychologists, therapists, counselors, assistants, and readers in an effort to increase the meaning of life. in the elderly in general and in the elderly who live in nursing homes in particular. The subject criteria for the study were the elderly who were still able to communicate with and in good general condition. These criteria are determined on the basis of consideration because this study was conducted using interviews as a method of data collection. The results of this study indicate that the elderly who live in nursing homes have a good life meaning.Keywords: nursing homes, parents, the meaning of life,
