Background: In providing services, medical professionals have to be aware of social norms, ethics and laws. Behaviors violate those regulations attract public attention and can lead to medical malpractice allegations. This study aimed to explore public opinion on medical malpractice, which was analyzed base on medical ethic principles.Method: To answer the research question, descriptive and qualitative online survey had been conducted from November 2009 to October 2010, which used structured and open-ended questionnaire. The participants were obtained by employing non-probability convenience sampling. Later, the quantitative data was analyzed descriptively, and the qualitative data was analyzed thematically and presented narratively.Results: In general, public opinion on malpractice is similar to the principles of medical ethics. They believe that wrong procedures, diagnosis and treatments are factors of the malpractice. However, the participants adopt more consequentialism philosophy, which emphasize on outcome of patients and lack of consideration what the doctors has done base on medical standards. More over, participants’ explanations on medical malpractice reflect dissatisfaction of medical services which may due to low quality of information and attitude of doctors and other staffs in providing services.Conclusion: To improve public opinion on medical service and prevent medical malpractice allegation, doctors and other staffs have to obey professional standards and ethics, providing adequate information and good communication.

AbstrakDalam menjalankan profesinya, dokter harus taat pada norma-norma sosial, etika profesi dan hukum. Pelanggaran akan nilai-nilai tersebut dapat menjadi sorotan masyarakat, dan bisa berlanjut kepada tuduhan malpraktek kedokteran. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menilai bagaimana opini masyarakat tentang malpraktek kedokteran yang dianalisis berdasarkan prinsip-prinsip etika kedokteran. Untuk menjawab tujuan penelitian ini telah dilakukan online survei deskriptif dan kualitatif  pada Bulan November 2009-Oktober 2010, dengan menggunakan kuisioner terstruktur dan pertanyaan terbuka. Respoonden  didapatkan dengan teknik sampling non-probabilitas convenience sampling.  Data dianalisa menggunakan prinsip-prinsip etika kedokteran secara deskriptif. Data kualitatif juga dilakukan analisa tematik serta ditampilkan dalam bentuk narasi. Secara umum opini masyarakat tentang malpraktek kedokteran sesuai dengan pandangan prinsip-prinsip etika kedokteran. Masyarakat berpendapat bahwa terjadinya malpraktek ada unsur kesalahan prosedur atau diagnosis dan penatalaksanaan.  Namun, mereka cendrung pada filosofis konsekuentialis yang lebih menitik beratkan kepada akibat yang dialami oleh pasien yang kurang mempertimbangkan apa yang telah dilakukan dokter berdasarkan standar medis.  Bahkan, ungkapan responden yang dianggapnya sebagai malpraktek lebih disebabkan karena ketidakpuasannya terhadap pelayanan yang diberikan. Ketidakpuasan tersebut timbul akibat rendahnya kualitas informasi dan sikap komunikasi dokter dan petugas dalam melakukan pelayanan. Oleh karena itu, untuk memperbaiki opini masyarakat dan mencegah berbagai tuduhan malpraktek, dokter dan petugas kesehatan harus mentaati etika dan standar profesi dalam melakukan pelayanan, serta memberikan informasi yang cukup dan komunikasi yang baik dengan pasien.Kata Kunci: Malpraktek kedokteran, etika, dan opini masyarakat.  AbstractIn providing services, medical professionals have to aware on social norms, ethics and laws. Exposure to different types of radiation is an integral part of everyday life (e.g. cosmic radiation, radon, medical applications, cell phones, etc.). Therefore, the general public should adequately be informed on the issue from an early age in order to develop a realistic understanding of the associated risks and the necessary safety culture. In this respect, the quality of the related information provided in the school textbooks is of great importance. The present work demonstrates a quantified assessment of high school textbooks regarding the information on different radiation-related topics provided to students. The assessment was carried out based on an anonymous online survey with the participation of a total of 347 high school teachers. According to the results of the survey, the high school textbooks address radiation issues in a sparse, occasional, and fragmentary manner. Moreover, the results indicate that the quality of information they provide was judged as unsatisfactory in terms of scientific correctness, completeness, clarity-comprehensiveness and objectivity. Radiation protection and applications of non-ionizing radiation are the topics that are covered to a lesser extent in the textbooks and curricula evaluated.

The study aims to identify motivational factors that lead to collective intelligence and understand how these factors relate to each other and to innovation in enterprises. The study used the convenience sampling of corporate employees who use collective intelligence from corporate panel members (n = 1500). Collective intelligence was found to affect work process, operations, and service innovation. When corporate employees work in an environment where collective intelligence (CI) is highly developed, work procedures or efficiency may differ depending on the onset of CI. This raises the importance of CI within an organization and implies the importance of finding means to vitalize CI. This study provides significant implications for corporations utilizing collective intelligence services, such as online communities. Firstly, such corporations vitalize their services by raising the quality of information and knowledge shared in their workplaces; and secondly, contribution motivations that consider the characteristics of knowledge and information contributors require further development.

This research aims to analyze the influence of marketing public relation and service quality at Bank Mandiri on corporate image through public. Convenience sampling method has been selected in order to obtain the data in this study. The analysis method that used was the path analysis. The research result had shown that: marketing public relation and service quality have significant influence simultaneously and partially on public opinion on the first structure equation. The second structure equation shows that: marketing public relation, service quality had significant influence simultaneously on corporate image. The service quality have not partially the quality of service have not influence significant partially on corporate, but variable marketing and public relation have  partially influential public opinion influence significant partially on corporate image.DOI: 10.15408/etk.v12i2.1916

Background: Chronic diseases are currently the main cause of morbidity and mortality and represent a major challenge to healthcare systems. The objective of this study is to know Spanish public opinion about chronic disease and how it affects their daily lives. Methods: Through a telephone or online survey of 24 questions, data was gathered on the characteristics of the respondents and their knowledge and experiences of chronic diseases. Results: Of the 2522 survey respondents, 325 had a chronic disease and were carers, 1088 had a chronic disease and were not carers, 140 did not have a chronic disease but were carers, and 969 did not have chronic disease and were not carers. The degree of knowledge on these diseases was good or very good for 69.4%, 56.0%, 62.2%, and 46.7%, respectively, for each group. All the groups agreed that chronic diseases mainly affect mood, quality of life and having to make sacrifices. Conclusions: Knowledge about chronic diseases is relatively good, although it can be improved among the Spanish population, especially among patients who report having a chronic disease and play the role of carers. However, it is important to continue maintaining the level of information and training concerning these diseases.

With the development of social networks, the complexity of the factors affecting the users’ information dissemination is increasing and the complexity of online social networks and influencing factors of individual behaviors and attitudes make the development of online public opinion present a dynamic, complex, and multifactor evolution. Analyzing the influencing factors of public opinion dissemination is conducive to optimize company management and information diffusion management. However, there has been no comprehensive analysis of the complex factors that influence the dissemination of information; this study focused on synthesizing 20 empirical studies on the influencing factors of China public opinion dissemination from the perspective of the user, and a meta-analysis was conducted. We establish the influencing factors of users’ information adoption model from three aspects of information source reliability, perceived information quality, and the heat of public opinion events based on elaboration likelihood model. The results indicated that the main influencing factors of public opinion communication are authority, reliability, quality of information form, quality of information editing, quality of information utility, and event attendance preference. Among the factors, authority and quality of information editing have more significant impacts on users’ information adoption behavior in the dissemination of public opinion. In addition, whether the type of event was a public emergency had a moderating effect. The results are helpful to explore the universality of the influencing factors so as to help related regulators better build a multiangle supervision mechanism and conduct early warning of information diffusion.

Medical marijuana (MMJ) is currently legal in 35 US states, with an estimated 3.6 million state-legal medical cannabis patients. Although there are currently over 440,000 MMJ patients in the state of Florida, there are limited data on their demographics, reasons and patterns of use, and successes or failures of treatment. The goal of this study is to examine the demographics, perceptions, and use of medical cannabis among patients in Florida, as well as their perceptions of the quality of information received from physicians and dispensaries. One hundred and fifty-seven MMJ patients completed an online survey regarding their characteristics and use. Patients in Florida shared many characteristics with patients in other states, such as race, use frequency, and administration technique. Patients most commonly used MMJ to treat their symptoms of anxiety, pain, and stress and reported great therapeutic effectiveness. A majority (65%) of patients also reported either a reduction or total discontinuation of at least one prescription or over-the-counter drug. The findings highlight the need to further investigate the use of MMJ as a viable treatment for pain and anxiety and to improve access of quality cannabis information to patients, physicians, and dispensary employees.

The aims of this study are to measure the level of service quality and how to improve the quality of service execution in re-measurement tera and tera of UTTP in Commerce On duty Co-Operation, Industrial and Commerce Of Sub-Province of Pacitan. This research’s object is traditional market of Minulyo Pacitan as mains market in Sub-Province of Pacitan with 100 perpetrator people of sample as user/owner of UTTP (ukur,timbang, takar, dan perlengkapannya) with method intake of sampel by Convenience Sampling. The technique of collecting data uses questionnaires and direct interview. This research use qualitative analysis instrument test of validity and reliability to know valid or not and reliabel or not about the questions of questionnaire. Then, this research was done with Servqual method as instrument to do measurement of service quality. The measurement of service quality in Servqual method pursuant to five service dimension that is tangibles, responsiveness, realibility, assurance, and empathy. This research will be measured of gap 5 that is difference among performance and its expectation. Ad for yielded gap from a enumeration of Servqual 5 gap, -146 progressively lower him mount the quality of given service activities. Therefore, its needs the existence of priority repair of service quality, in this case is service of remeasurement tera and tera of UTTP at biggest difference or gap that is at variable of Responsiveness ( Energy Listen carefully) and attribute that has smallest difference that is – 0.44 at dimension question of variable of Tangibles ( Evidence Physical). This writing is done to determine the effect of information quality and service quality on attitudes in the use of application systems with the ease of use of the system as an intervining variable in online transportation services (gojek) in Yogyakarta. The sample in this study is customers who use online motorcycle transportation services in Yogyakarta. The sampling technique uses accidental sampling technique. Data collection is done by distributing online questionnaires through the Goegle form and distributed with social media such as WhatsApp and Instagram on a 1-4 scale to measure 4 indicators. The results of this study show 1) the quality of information affects the ease of use, 2) the quality of service affects the ease of use, 3) the quality of information influences attitudes in use, 4) the quality of services does not affect attitudes in use, and 5) ease of use attitude in use.
