Objective: With recent advancements in traditional medicine, there is an increasing need for quality assurance assessments using standardizedprocesses. In this study, we aimed to determine the specific and non-specific parameters of the Simplicia and 70% ethanol extract of Achyranthesaspera leaves from three different regions.Methods: Samples were extracted using a maceration method with 70% ethanol as the solvent. The tests for the specific and non-specific parameterswere based on the Herbal Pharmacopoeia of Indonesia.Results: Our results of the specific parameters of the Simplicia showed that the ethanol-soluble extract contained 5.83–9.36% and the water-solubleextract contained 10.25–15.44%. The chromatogram pattern used β-sitosterol as the standard, and the total phenolic content was 0.93–1.15 mg gallicacid equivalent (GAE)/g Simplicia. The results of the non-specific parameters of Simplicia showed a loss on drying of 15.25–15.91%, a total ash contentof 14.58–20.79%, and an acid-insoluble ash value of 1.75–2.19%.Conclusion: Our results of the specific parameters of A. aspera extract showed a total phenolic content of 6.49–7.68% mg GAE/g extract. Our resultsof the non-specific parameters of the extract showed a total ash value of 13.18–14.52%, an acid-insoluble ash value of 0.14–0.29%, and a moisturecontent of 10.42–11.16%.

The research objectives were to identify the secondary metabolite components, total phenolic content and determine the antioxidant activity of the ethanol extract of red betel leaf (Piper crocatum Ruiz & Pav.). The extraction process was carried out by materation using ethanol as a solvent. Determination of total phenolic content was carried out colorimetrically with Folin-Ciocalteu reagent measured at a maximum wavelength of 765 nm. Determination of antioxidant activity using the DPPH method measured by spectrophotometry at a maximum wavelength of 517 nm. The results of phytochemical screening of the ethanolic extract of red betel leaf contain secondary metabolites, including flavonoid, phenolic, tannin, alkaloids, steroids, and triterpenoids. The total phenolic content of the red betel leaf ethanol extract was 0.949±0.003 mg GAE/g d.w. and has antioxidant activity (IC50) 84,656 including strong category as an antioxidant. Rambai laut (Soneratia caseolaris L.) is a type of tree that grows in riverbank swamps or mangrove forests which contains one of the secondary metabolites in the form of phenolic compounds. The purpose of this study was to determine the total phenolic content of polar and nonpolar fractions of sea rambai leaves using UV-Vis spectrophotometry method. Research conducted is non-experimental. The stages of the study included the determination of plants, sampling, making samples, making extracts, determining the water content of extracts, fractionation using polar and nonpolar fractions, phytochemical screening test of ethanol extract and fractionation results and determination of total phenolic levels by UV-Vis spectrophotometry. The results showed that rambai laut leaf in polar fraction had a total phenolic content of 213.49 ± 1.2227 mg GAE / g, which means that in each gram the polar fraction is equivalent to 213.49 mg of gallic acid, whereas in the nonpolar fraction of rambai laut leaves is obtained 55.79 ± 1.0809 mg GAE / g which means that in each gram the nonpolar fraction is equivalent to 55.79 mg of gallic acid. Total phenolic content is greater in the polar fraction.

Moringa oleifera L. have good nutritional content including phenolic compounds which can be used as antioxidants and can grow in lowlands and highlands. The purpose of this study was to determine the total phenolic content of the ethanol extract of M. oleifera leaves with variations in the area of ​​collection. The 50% ethanol extract was obtained from the simplicia of M. oleifera leaves by using the maceration method. Analysis of total phenolic content in the extract was carried out using a spectrophotometer instrument with the addition of reagent Folin-Ciocalteu and gallic acid as standard. The results of total phenolic content in Sleman, Wonosari, and Wonosobo areas were (127.87 ± 2.71) mg GAE / g extract, (99.40 ± 2.68) mg GAE / g extract, and (142 , 92 ± 1.81) mg GAE / g extract. The highest phenolic content in the ethanol extract of moringa leaves was found in Wonosobo areas.
