The spontaneous urbanisation has brought about boom in call for of land, solid for fast and green buildings over it. Hence it's far critical to bolster low bearing potential regions for financial creation practices. To conquer this impediment numerous laboratory tests and research are carried out, comparing the reinforceing impact of geogrid for enhancing bearing potential of soil. This paper objectives to look at the impact of artificial fibrein improving the bearing potential. Krishna river sand is used at exceptional relative density of compaction and handiest one kind of artificial fibre have been used for the tests. The intensity of the muse become various from 0 to B (B=width of foundation). The increase with inside the bearing potential with the availability of synthetic fibre as reinforcement is observed.

This paper shows Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified hospitality properties exhibit increased expenses and earn lower net operating income (NOI) than non-certified buildings. ENERGY STAR certified properties demonstrate lower overall expenses than non-certified buildings with statistically neutral NOI effects. Using a custom sample of all green buildings and their competitive data set as of 2013 provided by Smith Travel Research (STR), the paper documents potential reasons for this result including increased operational expenses, potential confusion with certified and registered LEED projects in the data, and qualitative input. The qualitative input comes from a small sample survey of five industry professionals. The paper provides one of the only analyses on operating efficiencies with LEED and ENERGY STAR hospitality properties.

The purpose of this study is to grasp the behavior characteristics of a single batter pile under vertical load by performing a model test. The changes in the resistance of the pile, the bending moment, etc. by the slope of the pile and the relative density of the ground were analyzed. According to the results of the test, when the relative density of the ground was medium and high, the bearing capacity kept increasing when the angle of the pile moved from a vertical position to 20°, and then decreased gradually after 20°. The bending moment of the pile increased as the relative density of the ground and the batter angle of the pile increased. The position of the maximum bending moment came closer to the ground surface as the batter angle of the pile further increased, and it occurred at a point of 5.2~6.7 times the diameter of the pile from the ground surface.

This paper investigated the mechanical response of porous copper manufactured by LCS under three-point bending and Charpy impact conditions. The effects of the compaction pressure and K2CO3 particle size used in producing the porous copper samples and the relative density of the samples were studied. The apparent modulus, flexural strength and energy absorption capacity in three-point bending tests increased exponentially with increasing relative density. The impact strength was not markedly sensitive to relative density and had values within 7 – 9 kJ/m2 for the relative densities in the range 0.17 – 0.31. The amount of energy absorbed by a porous copper sample in the impact test was much higher than that absorbed in the three-point bending test, impling that loading strain rate had a significant effect on the deformation mechanisms. Increasing compaction pressure and increasing K2CO3 particle size resulted in significant increases in the flexural strength and the bending energy absorption capacity, both owing to the reduced sintering defects.

The modern recognition of subsoil with the use of CPTu static probes allows to obtain detailed information necessary for the designing. Registered basic two quantities, i.e. cone resistance qc and friction on the sleeve fs, often become direct data, which allow to estimate bearing capacity of the base and the side surface of the pile. Direct methods use similarity of the pile work and piezo-cone work during the examination. An important design stage is the appropriate development of measurement data prior to the commencement of the procedure of determining the pile bearing capacity. Algorithms generated on the basis of empirical experiments are often applied with the simultaneous use of test loads. The probabilistic approach is also significant, because it enables objective assessment of the reliability level of performed design calculations. This work contains an analysis of the impact on the estimated bearing capacity and reliability of a pile of variable random depth of the pile base. It also includes the determination of probabilities of obtaining the assumed safety index for the designed solution at random foundation depth.

Purpose. The purpose of the work is to establish the real technical condition of transport structures made of corrugated metal structures on the basis of the analysis of scientific and technical sources. And to analyze the experience of operation of metal corrugated structures in the soil environment and to form and generalize the problems of ensuring the reliability and durability of structures made of metal corrugated structures in the conditions of operation on railways and highways of Ukraine. Methodology. To achieve this goal, a review of scientific and technical sources and regulations of different countries on the technical condition of transport facilities in Ukraine was conducted. In particular, data on the distribution of bridges and pipes made of corrugated metal structures by mode of transport are given. It is shown that the development and implementation of new technologies for the repair of existing defective pipes and small bridges, both on the railways and highways of Ukraine is a very important issue. A thorough analysis of the experience of operation of corrugated metal structures in the soil environment in different countries was conducted. Data on the main inadmissible defects of pipes and the reasons of their development are given. CMS' (corrugated metal structures) corrosion and other defects are given. A number of examples of overpass defects, collapse of bridges and structures with MCS in operation are presented. The qualitative indicators of metal corrugated structures, their advantages and disadvantages are also considered, the problems and the analysis of ensuring the reliability and durability of the structures with CMS in the conditions of operation on the railways and highways of Ukraine are formulated. Findings. An analysis of domestic and foreign scientific and technical sources on the technical condition of transport facilities in Ukraine was conducted. In particular, the experience of operation of corrugated metal structures in different countries of the world is studied and generalized. The analysis and synthesis of problems of ensuring the reliability and durability of buildings with CMS in the conditions of operation on the railways and highways of Ukraine. Originality. As a result of the analysis of the technical condition of transport facilities operated on railways and highways of Ukraine, it was found that about 15 % of transport facilities – small and medium bridges and culverts on Ukrainian railways and about 45 % of transport facilities on Ukrainian roads have unacceptable defects and require immediate repair and replacement. Also, it was established on the basis of research that there are no methods for assessing the load-bearing capacity of transport facilities with CMS in the presence in the body of the embankment of the railway or highway metal corrugated structures with a diameter greater than 6 m. It was determined that standards don't include regulations on design and monitoring of CMS on railway tracks. Practical value. On the basis of these data it was possible to offer directions of theoretical and experimental research and methods of calculation, tests of CMS and diagnostics of a technical condition of transport structures with CMS. In particular, the measurement of the impact of the environment on the bearing capacity of the CMS and the measurement of residual deformations of the corrugated metal pipe on the railway track. Execution of the analysis and synthesis of methods of calculation of transport constructions with CMS will lead to improvement of methods of calculation of CMS.

Abstract Waste from anaerobic digestion is considered as a mineral fertilizer and it is usually applied to agricultural land. The aim of our attempt was to enrich this waste from anaerobic digestion (digestate) with an organic component (in our case represented by haylage). For this purpose, we made different mixtures of digestate and haylage in different weight ratios. In the field trial, the effect of these mixtures on the soil, under standard agricultural conditions, was monitored. Selected accessible nutrients (P, K, Mg, Mn, Ca) and the amount of carbon and nitrogen in the soil were monitored. The results of the laboratory tests confirmed that the areas where the sowing and digestate mixtures were applied showed greater amounts of macro- and micronutrients in plant-accessible forms than the surface fertilized only with digestate or areas fertilized only with standard fertilizers.

For an RC beam, the strength of steel rebar, the bonding strength between the concrete and reinforcement, and the bite action between the aggregates will deteriorate significantly due to corrosion. In the present study, 10 RC beams were designed to study the impact of corrosion on the shear bearing capacity. The mechanism of corrosion for stirrups and longitudinal bars and their effects were analyzed. Based on the existing experimental data, the correlation between the stirrup corrosion factor and the cross section loss rate was obtained. An effective prediction formula on the shear bearing capacity of the corroded RC beams was proposed and validated by the experimental results. Moreover, a numerical analysis approach based on the FE technique was proposed for the prediction of the shear strength. The results show that corrosion of the reinforcements could reduce the shear strength of the RC beams. The corrosion of stirrups can be numerically simulated by the reduction of the cross section. The formulae in the literature are conservative and the predictions are very dispersed, while the predictions by the proposed formula agree very well with the experiment results.
