Teachers and Students' Illocutionary Act in Bahasa Indonesia Subject

<p><em>This research describes the students' and teachers' illocutionary act in learning Indonesian at state senior high school number 1 of Payakumbuh. The object of the research was the students and teachers at SMAN 1 of Payakumbuh for Bahasa Indonesia subject. The research applied qualitative descriptive method in collecting and analyzing the data. The research shows that the illocutionary acts of students' of 11<sup>th</sup> grade and teacher's for Bahasa Indonesia subject acquired 61 speech acts, which are (1) 18 assertive, (2) 2 explanatory assertive, (3) 2 reporting assertive speech, (4) 21 directive utterance commanded which is consisted of 17 teacher’s utterances and 4 student’s utterances, (5) 4 directive requests begging, (6) 3 directive of advice, (7)) 2 directive reminding, (8 ) 2 directive asked for something (9) 6 accused expressive. (10) 4 expressive complained, and (11) 1 commissive promissing. In conclusion, most of illocutionary acts used towards teacher and the students at 11<sup>th</sup> grade for Bahasa Indonesia subject in SMAN 1 Payakumbuh was directive speech act. The rarely used speech act was commissive.</em><em></em></p>

This research discussed about the analysis of speech act used in the Grown Ups movie. This research revealed the types of speech act that found in the Grown Ups during the movie. The researcher applied the qualitative descriptive method because it was dealt with the description analysis by using words. Observation method used to collect the data. The researcher chose this movie because it was popular in the 20’s century and there were many speech acts reflected in this movie. As the result, it was found that were 30 utterances of speech acts in Grown Ups movie. From the 30 data that researcher collected, the main characters most expressed the types of speech act. They are 6 locutionary acts, 15 illocutionary acts, and 9 perlocutionary. Based all the data above, it can be concluded the most used speech act found in this data was illocutionary act. The next was perlocutionary act. Then the last was locutionary act.

The purpose of this study to analyze type of illocutionary speech acts that used by Hanan Attaki and identifying speech acts utterance by Hanan Attaki on Youtube. The method used in this study is the qualitative descriptive method because this is done only based on the fact and the writer describes the result in from words and the explanation of the result. Data collection method that used is scrutinized method and make a script, is scrutinize use of language by Ustadz Hanan Attaki, then the data is note and classified based on type of illocutionary. In this result the writer analyze all type of illucationary speech act used by Ustadz Hanan Attaki on Video Ust. Hanan Attaki Youtube Channel. The result of this study found 65 clauses that contain the type of illocutionary speech acts, there are representatives (37), directives (22), declarative (5) and commissive (1) each type of the speech acts are delivering different meaning and representative is the most widely used by Ustadz Hanan Attaki. Peristiwa tutur satu arah antara pelatih dengan pemain (player) pada pelatihan drum corps di Sabda Kinnara Drum Corps UNNES merupakan hal yang mendasari dilakukannya penelitian. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan metode simak dan metode cakap. Data utama penelitian berupa hasil sadapan terhadap tuturan dua pelatih Sabda Kinnara Drum Corps UNNES divisi Colour Guard (CG) dengan data pendukung berupa hasil wawancara dengan pelatih divisi CG. Objek penelitian ini adalah tindak tutur direktif pelatih drum corps divisi Colour Guard (CG). Dari penelitian ini diperoleh 21 bentuk tindak tutur direktif yang digunakan pelatih SKDCU divisi CG, di antaranya 8 tindak tutur memerintah, 3 tindak tutur memohon, 6 tindak tutur menyarankan, dan 4 tindak tutur menantang.Katakunci: direktif, tindak tutur Abstract:The one-way speech from the coach to the players at the drum corps training at Sabda Kinnara Drum Corps UNNES was the basis of the research. The research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method. The research data were collected using recording and interview. The main data of the research are the results of recording of utterances used by two coaches in Sabda Kinnara Drum Corps UNNES Color Guard (CG) division with supporting data from interviews with the CG division coaches. The object of this research is directive speech act used by coach of Color Guard (CG) drum corps. This research reveals that there are 21 forms of directive speech acts used by the CG division SKDCU coaches, including 8 commanding speech acts, 3 pleading speech acts, 6 suggesting speech acts, and 4 challenging speech acts.Keywords: directive, speech act

Pangeuyeuks as the guide in Ngeuyeuk Seureuh ceremony has an important role to explain the marriage values through symbols to prospective bride and groom. This article describes speech acts used by pangeuyeuks in Ngeuyeuk Seureuh ceremony. Descriptive qualitative and distributional method was applied in doing the analysis of data. The speech acts were analyzed by the theory of illocutionary act to find the function of speech act, syntactic types of sentences to find the form of speech acts, and relationship between the function and form of speech acts to find the directness and indirectness of speech acts. The result shows that the illocutionary acts of pangeuyeuks classified into four types: assertives, directives, commissives and expressives, while the sytanctic types of sentences consist of declarative, interrogative, imperative and exclamatory. The direct speech acts are embodied in assertives, directives, commissives and expressives, wheareas the indirect speech acts are embodied in directive speech acts. The embodiment of the speech acts used by pangeuyeuks reflects special norms of interaction based on Sundanese local genius.

<p class="Default" align="center">Abstrac</p><p class="Default" align="center"> </p><p class="Default">The politeness in directive speech act is an important thing in teaching and learning interactions. Therefore, it is necessary to study to the use of directive speech acts spoken by teachers and students in teaching and learning interactions. This study aimed to describe the forms, functions, and causative factors of the politeness in directive speech act in teaching and learning interactions at SMP Negeri  4 Sungai Penuh.</p><p class="Default">This research is a qualitative-descriptive research using the technique of <em>Simak Bebas Libat Cakap</em>. Data were collected by recording and questionnaire. The theory used as the basis for analyzing the politeness in directive speech act in this research was the pragmatic theory of Searle, Yule George (1996), Geoffrey Leech (1993), Abdul Chaer (2010), and Ibrahim (1993).</p><p class="Default">The results showed that the forms of the politeness in directive speech act in teaching and learning interactions at 4 Public Junior High School Sungai Penuh were the forms of requests, questions, orders, prohibitions, giving permission and advice. The functions of the politeness in directive speech act were the functions of asking, requesting, willing, prohibiting, pressing, directing, allowing, instructing, advising, suggesting, demanding, inviting, requiring, and forgiving. The causative factors of the politeness in directive speech act were the context, intonation, social institutions, diction, topics of conversation, and language style.</p>

This study was conducted aiming at examining: (1) the divergent principles of politeness in students’ directive speech act (2) factors affecting politeness and impoliteness in verbal and non-verbal directive speech act produced by students at grade X in Senior High School 1 Mataram in the learning process. The subject of this study are teachers teaching Bahasa Indonesia, English, Economy, History, Math, Religion, Civic, and Science, and all students at Grade X of Science 1, Science 3 and Social 2 in Senior High School 1 Mataram. This study is a descriptive qualitative research. The data source in this study is the number of utterances produced by students and teachers in the learning process. The data were collected through observation. This study revealed that: (1) there were divergent principles of politeness in participants’ directive speech act namely single and multiple divergent principles of politeness affected by speaker intentionally accused addressees, intentionally uttered by neglecting the context, was protective to other arguments, showed emotional feeling, given critiques in impolite words and mocked at other; and (2) there were factors affecting politeness and impoliteness in verbal and non-verbal directive speech act produced by students in learning process namely linguistic factor and non-linguistic factor.

This goal of this study is to describe the types of directive illocutionary act and to find out the most dominant directives speech act performed by the characters in The Complex: Lockdown movie through the theory of Speech Act by Kreidler (1998) and supported by the theory from Searle (1979). In analyzing the data, descriptive qualitative method is used. This study found 73 data of directive illocutionary act performed by the characters in the movie. In addition, it was found the most dominant directives used is command with 27 (37%) occurences followed by question with 23 (32%) occurences. Both types of directive is the most commonly used because the characters are forced to do a certain task quickly with a limited time to think. That causes they gave command to other and asked question frequently during the emergency situation after several bio-weapon attacks. The least dominant types of directive speech act are found  namely; request with 16 (22%) occurences and followed by suggestion with 7 (9%) occurences.

This research deals with the types of illocutionary acts in Donald Trump’s Inaugural Speech. The research concerns with illocutionary act produced by Donald Trumps as a President of American. The aim of this research was to analyze the types of illocutionary speech act which was dominantly used in that speech. This research applied descriptive qualitative method and speech act theory by Yule. There were 63 utterances and the percentage of utterances were Representative 46%, Expressive 11%, Directive 16%, Commissive 12,7%, and Declarative 14,3%. The result showed that Donald Trump assert to the audience about the nation will be.It is found that Trump’s speech acts in his speech are intended as statement of fact and assertion. Disscussion of hopes implied in Trump’s speech acts. As seen on the table above, it can be seen that Trump hoped that his audiences would be persuaded to act

Abstract: This research deals with directive speech in the Mario Teguh Golden Ways. This study uses a qualitative approach. That is, data that has been found later identified, analyzed and classified through a qualitative analysis. In line with the approach, the method used is descriptive method. From the results of the study, it is showed that the speech act in Mario Teguh Golden Ways is a directive speech act, which is seen from the number of words used by Mario in giving advice. This can be seen in terms of understanding that researcher found. Directive speech acts (directives) illocutionary aim to produce an effect of an act committed by the addressees; this illocutionary is for example, ordering, commanding, pleading, demanding, and giving advice. Keywords: Discourse, Directives Speech Acts, Mario Teguh Golden Ways Abstrak: Penelitian ini berkenaan dengan bentuk tidak tutur direktif dalam acara Mario Teguh Golden Ways. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Artinya, data yang telah ditemukan kemudian diidentifikasi, dianalisis dan diklasifikasikan melalui analisis secara kualitatif. Sejalan dengan pendekatannya, metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tindak tutur yang banyak terdapat pada acara Mario Teguh Golden Ways adalah tindak tutur direktif yang dapat diamati dari banyaknya kalimat yang digunakan oleh Mario Teguh dalam berbicara memberi saran dan nasihat. Hal ini bisa dilihat dari segi pengertian yang telah peneliti dapatkan. Tindak tutur direktif (directives) ilokusi ini bertujuan menghasilkan suatu efek berupa tindakan yang dilakukan oleh petutur; ilokusi ini misalnya, memesan, memerintah, memohon, menuntut, memberi nasihat.Kata kunci : Wacana, Tindak Tutur Direktif, Acara Mario Teguh Golden Ways

An illocutionary act is a speech act that is usually identified by explicit performative sentences. The research on illocutionary acts in vlogs is an action that shows the meaning of speech during communication. This study aims to describe illocutionary acts on Fiersa Besari's vlog YouTube channel Jangan Lupa Senyum Part 1 along with its speech function. The method used in this research is the descriptive method. The form of research used here is qualitative research. The data source in this study is the vlog Jangan Lupa Senyum Part 1 on the Fiersa Besari YouTube channel. The data in this study are transcripts of conversations between characters in vlogs. Data collection techniques in research using the observation method and note-taking techniques. The findings in the research in this vlog were only 15 utterances of illocutionary speech acts. From the 15 utterances, 7 data on assertive illocutionary acts, 2 directive illocutionary acts, and 7 expressive illocutionary acts. From this research, it is expected that we can understand the function of illocutionary acts that are relevant to everyday life
