Introduction. Reconstruction measures can restore production assets of an enterprise, ensure its economic efficiency, solve transportation and environmental problems. A relevant objective is to identify a set of the most important tasks of reconstruction of an industrial facility. Development of draft design proposals for the reconstruction of industrial buildings is complicated by the fact that a designer has to make a compositional link between “old” and “new” architecture, different in style and functionality, while focusing on the use of the most advanced effective materials and modern industrial structures. The article describes features of technical solutions for facades in the course of the reconstruction of industrial buildings aimed at the improvement of their energy efficiency and safety. Materials and methods. Reconstruction of industrial enterprises performs the function of transformation of industrial areas. Modern industrial architecture is focused on industrial tasks, such as the workplace protection from negative environmental effects (wind, rain, cold); arrangement of effective lighting in the workplaces; rational arrangement of workplaces, office equipment and production lines, auxiliary and service facilities, etc. Results. If there are social, historical, and architectural reasons to preserve a building, it is necessary to reconstruct and improve old industrial buildings and change their technical and economic characteristics. The reconstruction of a building means its modification aimed at changing its functionality in part or in full, taking into account the future prospects of the building. Conclusions. When restoring wornout elements of buildings that have historical significance, new elements are made in such a way that the appearance of a building remains unchanged or looks identical to its original historical appearance. Most industrial buildings, built before the law on energy performance of buildings was enacted, do not meet current regulatory requirements in terms of the thermal protection of the building enclosur.

The article is devoted to the consideration of the features of the formation of the appearance of objects, taking into account the technological process, the identification of fixed assets and methods of creating the spatial-spatial composition of buildings within the existing city development. These are: the Nestle plant in Mexico, the Fagus factory, the construction of the Leeds incinerator, etc. Industrial architecture is an integral part of society. The presence and functioning of industrial enterprises characterizes the economic and political independence of the state. Industrial areas are usually large in area. and environmental friendliness. It is extremely important for modern industrial design to take into account the energy efficiency of a building, as industrial buildings are directly related to the consumption of natural resources, most of which are exhausted. in the design and reconstruction of industrial facilities nowadays, in addition to taking into account the technological process, it is extremely important to pay attention to the exterior and interior decoration of buildings. This not only affects the aesthetic component of human perception, but also promotes the productivity of workers. Many industrial structures are included in the social and cultural life of the city, combining several additional functions, in addition to the main (industrial). The development of industrial architecture is closely linked to the development of facing materials, which are often used aluminum. But in the construction of industrial buildings can be used and other materials that allow you to create many color schemes. All factors determine the need to create an aesthetic environment that meets the needs of society.

It is known that industrial architecture is the important part of modern world. It brings profits and goods to our globalized soсiety. But industrial facilities is the most susceptible to obsolescence because of dynamics of technical progress development and different economic changes in societies.Industrial architecture, as an independent type of an artificial anthropogenic environment, is about 300 years old. Over the entire period of its existence, it has changed many times, depending on the development of technological progress. The evolution of the ideology of industrial buildings on the territory of Ukraine was uneven with certain jerks. This was facilitated by certain socio-political and military historical events, so Ukraine achieved active industrial development in the -1950-70s. During this period appeared the scientific specialization 18.00.03 "Architecture of Buildings and Structures" which was combined with the specialty 18.00.02 "Architecture of buildings and structures" at the end of this period. From 1961 to 1991 the leading research and design center for industrial buildings was the Scientific Research Institute "TsNIIPromzdaniy", which is located in Moscow. This organization set the direction of development of enterprises to the whole Union (and for Ukraine, which was part of the Union). In the late 1980s, this organization carried out the development of new concepts of industrial enterprises under the state order. During this period a number of concepts of mobile and adaptive industrial enterprises were developed. Adaptive enterprises were introduced in the 90s of the 20th century. But this evolutionary change in the policy of development of industrial enterprises was outstripped by the collapse of the territorial organization of the Union.

The analysis of the results of the examination of the technical condition of buildings and structures of enterprises in the sphere of public utilities has been carried out. The basic principles and methods of functional and technological renovation of architectural objects are revealed, accompanied by the transformation of the architectural space and planning schemes of industrial buildings and structures. A number of architectural and structural studies have been carried out in the direction of finding optimal technical solutions for repair, restoration of operational ability and reconstruction of industrial architecture objects in the field of public services for the purpose of their renovation. Technical reports based on the results of technical condition survey of building constructions of buildings and structures exploited for a long time, especially if there were long breaks in exploitation and maintenance, should include a section “Activities to renovate the object”. There is a need to adjust the regulatory framework for design and construction in order to speed up the process of “survey – renovation project – construction of the object”, as well as to restore and improve the base of the construction industry for the implementation of renovation projects. Complicating factors in the process of developing renovation projects of buildings and structures are the lack of design documentation for most facilities, lack of quality certificates for building structures and materials of buildings and structures, the long process from technical inspection to implementation of working design documentation, lack of interest of city authorities in development and renovation of service facilities.

Buildings preservation by the conversion of their function has become a domain of interest in the field of industrial heritage. Due to the need to expand existing housing capacities in urban areas, a large number of industrial buildings are nowadays converted into multi-family and single-family housing. The paper deals with the analysis of the functional and aesthetic internal transformation of industrial into housing spaces. The research goal is to determine the principles of conceptualization of housing functional plan within the framework of the original physical structure of the industrial building, at the architectonic composition level and housing unit (dwelling) level. Besides, the paper aims to check the existence of common patterns of the aesthetic transformation of converted spaces, examined through three epochs of the development of industrial architecture: the second half of the XIX century, the first half of the XX century and the post-WWII period.

Introduction. Determination of the scientifi cally substantiated frequency of cleaning the ducts of local exhausts of industrial buildings and structures is one of the tasks in the fi eld of fi re safety of industrial enterprises. The paper describes design methods, in particular, a method for determination of the induction period during spontaneous combustion of dust deposits in air ducts of ventilation systems and equipment, which can be used in solving problems focused on the development of preventive measures to ensure their fi re and explosion safety.Methods. In order to solve the problem set in this paper and compare the indicators obtained in the calculation and analytical part of the studies with the growth dynamics of deposits in real facilities, fi eld tests have been accomplished in the production facilities of the fl our mill of OJSC MK “Voronezhsky” and JSC Concern “Sozvezdiye”.Results and discussion. The timeframes for cleaning of deposits on ventilation (aspiration) equipment of buildings and structures cannot be universal for various industries and must take into account the dynamics of the growth of deposits depending on the specifi cs of combustible deposits, the workload of the production facilities of the protected object in a given period of time, and the operating conditions of the equipment. As a result of the experiments, it was found that the places of maximum accumulations of deposits are most often formed on the surfaces of joints and on the bends of pipelines of ventilation systems. The conditions of spontaneous combustion of combustible dust are studied by calculation and analytical method, depending on such process characteristics as the speed of the dust-air mixture fl ow in the duct, as well as the diameter of the duct’s cross section.Conclusions. The nomograms built on the basis of the studies performed can be used to determine the multiplicity of cleaning of combustible dusts of equipment and air ducts of industrial ventilation systems. The paper provides a calculation of the period of induction of spontaneous combustion of combustible dust deposits using the example of rye fl our with asymmetric heat transfer. Its signifi cance is due to the process of accumulation of deposits of combustible dust to a critical thickness in terms of spontaneous combustion conditions.

The operation of high-power industrial electrical installations, particularly in metallurgy and the oil and gas industry, is associated with complex technological processes that require increased attention to the equipment used, as such equipment is used in complex and dangerous production conditions and in continuous operation facilities. High-voltage air and gas compressors are objects with increased electrical energy consumption and have significant starting currents. These circumstances affect both the shape of the supply voltage and the state of the energy system in general. Currently, the development of methods for limiting inrush currents is an urgent task for objects used in industrial enterprises. Introducing a compressor into the technological process is sometimes requires prior coordination of its start with the equipment in operation, especially that with a high power consumption. The paper studies the existing control system as well as ways to upgrade the system to improve its energy performance.

Abstract In March 2016, the Latvian government approved a new support program for increasing energy efficiency in residential apartment buildings. For the support of renovation of apartment buildings in the period from 2016 to 2023, 166 470 588 EUR will be available. Different persons, such as energy auditors, designers, architects, project managers and builders, will be involved in the process of planning, development and implementation of building renovation. At the development stage of the building renovation project, special attention should be devoted to the first stage – energy audit and technical project development. The problem arises due to the fact that each of these individuals, during the development of technical building documentation, does not work as a completely unified system. The implementation of construction project planning and organisational management system is one of the most important factors to guarantee that the quality of building renovation project is ensured in accordance with the laws and regulatory standards. The paper studies mutual cooperation, professionalism and the role of information feedback of personnel involved in the planning stage of building renovation, which is an essential prerequisite for the renovation process in order to achieve high quality of work and reduce the energy performance indicator. The present research includes the analysis of different technical solutions and their impact on energy efficiency. Mutual harmonisation of technical specifications is also investigated.
