The article describes main provisions and relations for calculating short-circuit currents and phase currents in a three-phase traction transformer with a star-triangle-11 connection of windings, which feeds two single-phase loads in AC traction networks with a nominal voltage of 25 kilovolts. These transformers provide power to the enterprises of the agro-industrial complex located along the railway line. (Research purpose) The research purpose is in substantiating theoretical equations for digital intelligent relay protection in two-phase short circuits. (Materials and methods) It was found that since the sum of instantaneous currents in each phase is zero, each phase of the transformer works independently. We found that this significantly simplifies the task of analyzing processes with a two-phase short circuit. In this case, the problem of calculating short-circuit currents in the traction network can be simplified by reducing it to the calculation of an ordinary electric circuit with three unknown currents. (Results and discussion) The article describes equations for calculating short-circuit resistances for one phase of the transformer when connecting the secondary winding as a star or a triangle. The currents in the phases of the transformer winding at short circuit for the star-triangle-11 and star-star-with-ground schemes are compared. It was found that when calculating short-circuit currents, there is no need to convert the secondary winding of the traction transformer from a triangle to a star. (Conclusions) It was found that the results of the research can be used in the transition of relay protection systems from electromagnetic relays to modern high-speed digital devices, which will increase the operational reliability of power supply systems for traction and non-traction power consumers.

Based on the results of the analysis of the design solutions of launching and receiver stations of pipeline inspection gauges (pig launchers-receivers) used in process diagnostics and maintenance of main pipelines in Russia and abroad, a number of applied design issues was established. This, in turn, led to the relevance of the issue of optimizing the design of pig launchers and receivers, including the unification of parts used in their manufacture, thereby increasing the share of factory-made products. Decisions were made that provided a comprehensive approach to the issue of improving the operational reliability of this type of equipment - a new design of pig launchers and receivers was developed, which allows to reduce production metal consumption and labor intensity, reduce operating costs, increase constructability and reliability. As part of the solution of this issue, computational and theoretical studies using the SIMULIA Abacus software package were carried out. The reliability of the optimized design is confirmed by the results of durability tests of the pig launcher and receiver prototype with the nominal diameter of the working chamber of DN 1000. A dimension range of advanced designs of pig launchers and receivers with nominal working chamber diameters of DN 150-1200 for use in main oil and petroleum product pipelines was developed.

This paper proposes an algorithm for synthesizing a neural network (NN) structure to analyze complex structured, low entropy, ocular fundus images, characterized by iterative tuning of the adaptive model’s solver modules. This algorithm will assist in synthesizing models of NNs that meet the predetermined characteristics of the classification quality. The relevance of automating the process of ocular diagnostics of fundus pathologies is due to the need to develop domestic medical decision-making systems. Because of using the developed algorithm, the NN structure is synthesized, which will include two solver modules, and is intended to classify the dual-alternative information. Automated hybrid NN structures for intelligent segmentation of complex structured, low entropy, retinal images should provide increased efficiency of ocular diagnostics of fundus pathologies, reduce the burden on specialists, and decrease the negative impact of the human factor in diagnosis.

Identified in the process of analyzing the operation of the structure, in the conditions of its operation, allow to assess the actual reserves of the bearing capacity of the structure and take effective measures to restore the operational parameters. The main criteria influencing the choice of mathematical models of materials for structures and elements of soil dams are more consistent with the model of the equation of state connecting the components of stress and strain tensors, as well as the rate of their change, which are obtained and tested for numerical calculations and have a full set of constants for materials used in the calculations of earth dams, the choice of their structures (concrete, reinforced concrete, soils, etc.). Reliable operation of soil dams is possible only if all proper conditions are met. The causes of dam accidents and their damage must be known not only to eliminate errors at the design and construction stages, but also during their operation. In order to exclude the negative impact of operational factors on the safety of soil HTS, it is necessary not only to strictly observe the rules of technical operation and take measures to exclude the possibility of an emergency situation during technological operations at facilities, but also to have methods for predictive justification of the restoration of strength and operational indicators of structures and elements of soil dams.

The most important task of precision engineering on the modern stage is the development of effective technological processes of manufacturing, providing not only achieving high precision at low costs, but also retaining the original in terms of accuracy throughout the life of the product. (Research purpose) The research purpose is in studying the possible negative effect of ultrasonic mechanical vibration in the process of stabilizing the deformation of circular plates on the subject of appearing of various kinds of micro-cracks, which result will be a sharp decrease in resource products in general, and to make a comparative analysis of changes in the properties and structure of the material. (Materials and methods) Half of the prepared samples were processed using a thermomechanical technology based on the cyclic action of a liquid or gas in different temperature conditions, the other part of the samples was processed using the proposed technology based on the method of ultrasonic mechanical action. The end section of the round plate for both processing options was prepared. (Results and discussion) In the structure of the material of both the samples treated by different methods, there are certain bundles of the micro-cracks type caused by plastic impact. The structure of sample material processed by standard method is more rough, the concentration of microcracks in the material of the sample treated by ultrasonic impact does not exceed the concentration of microcracks of the sample material processed in a standard way. (Conclusions) Changing the structure of the material of the round plate after ultrasonic treatment may not have a negative impact and does not affect the durability of the product during operation. With the correct choice of the ultrasonic treatment mode, a more uniform stress reduction can be achieved during the processing, and the quality and efficiency of the process can be improved. Ultrasonic processing increases the mechanical characteristics of the material, such as tensile strength and proportionality.

Operating rules have been used widely in the reservoir long-term operation duo to its characteristics of coping with inflow uncertainty and easy implementation. And implicit stochastic optimization (ISO) has been widely applied to derive reservoir operation rules, based on linear regression or nonlinear fitting method. However, the maximum goodness-of-fit criterion of fitting method may be unreliable to determine the effective rules. Therefore, this paper develops a self-optimization system dynamics (SD) simulation of reservoir operation for optimizing the operating rules, by taking advantages of feedback loops in SD simulation. A deterministic optimization operation model is firstly established, and then resolved using dynamic programming (DP). Simultaneously, the initial operating rules (IOR) are derived using the linear fitting method. Finally, the refined optimal operating rules (OOR) are obtained by improving the IOR based on the self-optimization SD simulation. China’s Three Gorges Reservoir is used as a case study. The results show that the SD simulation is competent in simulating a complicated hydropower system with feedback and causal loops. Moreover, it makes a contribution to improve the IOR derived by fitting method within an ISO frame. And the OOR improve effectively the guarantee rate of power generation on the premise of ensuring power generation.

Autonomous (or unmanned) haulage systems have been used in surface mining for more than 10 years. Most of the equipment at such mines is remotely controlled by electronics, for which they are sometimes called “smart mines”. The elimination of the “human factor” from the pro- duction process should theoretically increase its safety and productivity, as well as reduce the operating costs of its implementation. However, despite the obvious advantages of this technology, it is not spreading as fast as ex- pected. This suggests that there are a number of problems that limit its de- velopment. In this paper, a review and analysis of the experience in the in- dustrial implementation of autonomous haulage in surface mining is car- ried out in order to identify existing problems and possible directions for their further development. The prerequisites, a brief history and some im- portant results of the introduction of autonomous haulage systems in sur- face mining, their main types and constituent elements are outlined, as well as the existing problems and expected directions of their development are highlighted.
