The author of the article analyzes the motives of honor and dishonor in the late prose work of A.S. Pushkin Captains Daughter. Using the method of motivational analysis proposed by I. Silantyev, we examined the implementation of these motives from the point of view of 1) the subjective organization of the text; 2) the functions of the actor; 3) chronotope. In the process of research, we came to the conclusion that the paired motive of honor and dishonor is realized in the system of actors of the work through a complex predicative structure that reveals the actions of characters, their internal motivation and external embodiment.

Human beings express their emotions through the language of art; it is therefore both the spirit of progress and one of the most important means of developing emotions. Consequently, those who cannot make use of this means are incomplete in their maturation. Ideas and other products of the imagination can be given tangible form with the magical key of art. By means of art, humanity can exceed the limits of the earth and reach feelings beyond time and space. Beauty in the realm of existence can be recognized through art. Moreover, the great abilities inherent in human nature can be understood and witnessed in works of art. However, from an Islamic point of view, there are some restrictions on certain fields such as sculpture and painting. It is therefore imperative to analyse the notion of art in Islam and its philosophy and then reflect upon the need of the spirit to connect to God through the language of art while meeting some religious obstacles on the way.

A great number of works of art, it is commonly claimed, are aesthetically valuable. Some philosophers have even argued that providing an aesthetically pleasing experience is their only proper function. However, some of these artworks display or invite us to adopt an immoral point of view. Even worse, they even seem to make immoral situations delightful and appealing. The following questions thus arise: Does the alleged immorality of these works count as an aesthetic or artistic defect? Can an immoral movie or novel ever be a great example of its kind? In addition to these concerns related to art evaluation, the connection between various forms of art and morality has been investigated by discussing the capacity of works of art to move us emotionally. More specifically, thinkers from different traditions and ages have remarked that works of art are clearly able, first, to stir our emotions in a particularly effective way, and, second, to invite us to act following certain ideas that have been made appealing by their beauty or other aesthetic qualities. Plato was the first in the Western tradition to evaluate in a systematic way whether, as a consequence of the previous considerations, we should supervise the storytellers who are supposed to educate our youth. Other philosophers, from Aristotle to more recent advocates of the value of the humanities, have argued in favor of the positive role that truly great works of art may have in our moral education. Contemporary philosophers are also interested in the role of imagination in fictional immoral contexts (can we engage with immoral works of art and be justified in so doing?). They are also interested in the role played by art in contributing to our well-being and flourishing as human beings. The great majority of recent works on the topic, however, are focused on an assessment of the arguments in favor or against ethical criticism, with a particular emphasis on the criticism of representational works of art. Other issues at the intersection of art and morality are the concept of the obscene, the value of pornography, and censorship.

From a cultural point of view as well as politically and geographically, Hungary is very much part of Eastern Europe; although the “Iron Curtain” appears less formidable than hitherto, opportunities for people to encounter works of art are relatively few. In these circumstances, public libraries have a vital role to play in organising art exhibitions; their exhibition activities have been surveyed, and could in future be coordinated, by the National Széchényi Library. With some notable exceptions, the scope of exhibitions has tended to be unadventurous, focussing especially on the graphic and book arts because of their obvious relevance in a library environment. There is a particular need for exhibitions for children which would encourage uninhibited experiences of works of art and design.

Contemporary artists have included classical methods together with innovative digital printing technologies to their artistic manufactures and thus their technological production interactions have been reflected on current art as well. Today’s artists have also been in collaboration with each other by involving the digital printing technologies which kept advancing during the recent 20 years in their works of art just like Degas and Manzi did in their relationships of production partnerships in 19th Century. Besides, those opinions which originated from modernism ideas and movements consist of the core of this cooperation post Industrial Revolution era. Therefore, the concept of nationalism, the devastating consequences of the world wars and the latest industrial and technological advancements have all transformed human life irreversibly. Consequently, during this transformation era, various significant movements of art such as Impressionism and Expressionism emerged in the 20th century and representatives of those art movements substituted such a lot of printmaking practices in their works of art. None of those mentioned above took place in other previous movements of art. They reflected their points of view that they display social movements and none of the other artists who represent other senses of art have ever exhibited such a lot of printmaking practices. Thus, various printing technologies which present a new laboratory environment to the artists. As a result of this, printing technologies have been preferred as a sort of new artistic media value and it started to take its prominent place in collections of art as well as in museums during artistic presentations. Within this context, this article aims at studying the phenomenon of art by considering how it has changed during the historical process by examining those works of art which reveal these variations. Common production and working techniques in traditional printmaking, contributions of the technological advantages to the artistic manufacture. Besides, periodical innovations will be examined and presented by introducing an updated point of view to the topic within the content of this article that contain some citations from the second part of the thesis titled “Effects of fine art printmaking on the phenomenon of contemporary art”.

The word “Badespaß” (to go swimming for fun) refers to the most emblematic feature of bathing in Germanic countries, especially in Germany: fun. Germans go swimming not only to relax or to do sports, but also and above all to have a good time and take their mind off things, with family and friends. The contribution aims to explain the phenomenon of bathing in nature from a societal, literary and artistic point of view. As it is a popular leisure activity par excellence, the reason for bathing outdoors, whether in fresh or salt water, is particularly present in cultural production. We will mainly mobilize recent resources, produced between 1950 and 2020, in order to constitute a representative corpus of primary sources that will contain artistic objects in the broadest sense of the term. They will be textual (books, blogs), visual (works of art, architecture), sound (songs, readings) and audiovisual (films, videos). Using a multidisciplinary analytical grid, we aim to gain a better understanding of the social practices and artistic representations around natural bathing in Germany today.

The precedent of the Kaniv AllUkraine Symposium “Shevchenkivsky Park” in 2007 laid the foundation for the formation of a new model of the state symposium of national importance. This in conjunction with the municipal symposia subsequently stimulated the introduction of a private model. The objectives of the research, was through an artstudy and comparative analysis; taking a representative sample of sculptural ensembles of state and private symposia to determine their specificity, common features and perspectives. As a result of the study, it is acknowledged that neither state nor private symposium models are benchmarked, since they can`t avoid of unsuccessful works of art in terms of their technical performance; or from the point of view of conformity of their concept; nor can they prevent from making mistakes during installation of a sculptural ensemble. Similarly the state format has the potential for development, under the condition of proper financing and balanced cultural policy of the state and local authorities. The general discrepancies between state and private symposia consists of concepts and exposition principles of symposium sculpture parks. Additionally in case of private sculptural symposia, private or public space is exempted from the integral information mission and gives a chance to use this place for rest and contemplation. This explains the greater percentage of abstract sculptural works in the Kaniv symposia. State symposia raise questions of the ethnonational and cultural identity of Ukrainians, dealing with certain "memory places", therefore, they are called to create interpretive works of art; that mentally and spiritually integrate the recipient into the history of a particular environment. So, in both models; the clear formulation of the communicative task and the definition of the exhibition strategy of various spaces are implied. This is illustrated by the nearby Kaniv parks of symposium sculptures — “Knya zhaya Hora” and “Shevchenkivsky Park”.

Minangkabau philosophy of life is represented in “alam takambang jadi guru” that is fundamentally based upon tradition, religion, and the Al-Quran (adat basandi syara’, syara’basandi kitabullah). This philosophy is also implemented in its society’s works of art, particularly in architecture. The Minangkabau architecture under discussion in this research is an ancient mosque called Bingkudu in Candung, Agam Regency.    This research is a study of architecture on Bingkudu Mosque in Minangkabau as seen from point of view of value and meaning. The research describes Bingkudu’s visual elements, then searches and collects the data regarding their value and meaning. The research shows that the value and meaning design of architectural design of Bingkudu Mosque do not stray from the value of monotheism. Tradition and religion go hand in hand without any significant differences in this principle and shape on the visual elements. This mosque also undergo an acculturation between the old concept adhering to indigenous culture (have already undergone acculturation) with the concept of Islamic architectural designs. This proves that the Minangkabau society is open to other cultures.     Key words:culture, Minangkabau, mosque, religion, tradition, value and meaning.

The works of art are a reflection of real life, but naturally refracted through the artistic vision of the artists. The reproduction of this reality of life through literature has the goal of influencing man by changing him into another, higher form of spiritual and life realisation. The problem of formation of assessment abilities in adolescents for deviations in behaviour through contemporary Bulgarian literature is relevant and insufficiently studied in our country from a pedagogical point of view. Based on an interpretive content analysis of interviews conducted with contemporary Bulgarian authors, summaries and trends about the state of the problem are presented.
