This research aims to find out students' responses toward guided inquiry learning model. The method used is pre-experimental design. The population of this research were 165 students of class VIII SMP Negeri 8 Banda Aceh. The research subjects were 24 students of class VIII-4. The data were collected by using questionnaires and then analyzed descriptively by calculating the average of each aspect. Likert Scale questionnaire was converted into a quantitative scale. The statements in the questionnaires were consisted of positive and negative statements. The questionnaires were given to the students after implementing guided inquiry model. The results showed that students responded positively to the model developed, indicated that guided inquiry learning model is very helpful and train students to work independently. It contributed to the process of critical thinking and help students to understand the photosynthesis concept.

This study aims to find out the use of the Guided Inquiry learning model in improving student learning outcomes on the concept of excretion systems in humans in Banda Aceh City 2 Middle School. Data processing method is done by validity test, reliability test, normality test, homogeneity test and followed by t-test. The results of the study show that there is a difference between the application of a guided inquiry model and conventional methods towards student learning outcomes in the concept of excretion systems in humans. The acquisition of the difference value (gain) in the experimental class is 14.24 with an N-gain value of 0.44 and the control class is 5.42 with an N-gain value of 0.27. The results of the t-test obtained by the value of tcount of 2.14 and t table 1.68023 so that t-count> t-table. the average activity of students during learning has been done well, where activities carried out by students in the category of less (7.14%), good category (57.14%) and in the category is very good (35.72%). So the results of this study can be concluded that the application of the guided inquiry learning model influences the improvement of student learning outcomes in the concept of excretion systems in humans in class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Kota Banda Aceh.

Research has been carried out to implement a guided inquiry model for mastery of concepts and sustainability of conceptual understanding on the material of the human respiratory system. This study aims to determine the effect of the implementation of the guided inquiry learning model on the analysis of concept mastery and the sustainability of students' conceptual understanding on the human respiratory system material at SMP Negeri 26 Banjarmasin. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a research design using Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The sample of this research is the students of class VIII A as the experimental class totaling 30 people and students of class VIII B as the control class totaling 30 people. The sampling technique used was classroom random sampling, seen from the average class value on the results of the Final Semester Test. The sample data was collected using multiple choice test, pre-test/post-test, questionnaires, and visual documentation. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistical analysis test, N-Gain test and statistical hypothesis testing using t-test. The results showed that (1) the implementation of the guided inquiry learning model can affect the increase in mastery of concepts with the result that it gets an average of 0.6%, while the mastery of concepts using the expository model gets an average of 0.5%; (2) The implementation of the guided inquiry learning model for the sustainability of conceptual understanding of the experimental group in the pretest and posttest data obtained a total result of 4% with the criteria of being less than 76% with good criteria of 300 total sustainability of concept understanding, while the sustainability of understanding the concept used the expository model of the control group. the pretest and posttest data get a total result of 12% with the criteria being less than 21% with a category of less than 300 total sustainability of concept understanding; and (3) The T test shows that Tcalc > T tab (3.14 > 2.00), which with a significant level of 0.05 means that Ha is accepted. This study conclude that there are differences in the mastery of concepts and the sustainability of the concepts of students who implement the guided inquiry model and the expository model.

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of Inquiry Learning Model and Scientific Literacy toward students’ Critical Thinking Skills in Primary School. This Study was Conducted at SD Islam Al-Ikhwan Tangerang in Fifth Graders. The True Experiment Method with Two Way Anava design (treatment by level 2x2) was implemented in this study. 40 students as the sample was selected by simple random sampling. Students in experimental group were learned through Inkuiri Mandiri model. Meanwhile, in control group, students were learned through Guided Inquiry. Based on data analysis, it was obtained: (1) the student’s critical thinking skills given by Inkuiri Mandiri Model is higher than Guided Inquiry, as evidenced by Fcount (10.93) > Ftable (4.10 ); (2) there is influence of interaction between learning models and scientific literacy toward student’s critical thinking skills, this can be seen from the acquisition price of Fcount (58.926) > Ftable (4.10); (3) student’s critical thinking skills given Inkuiri mandiri Model is higher than Guided Inquiry in group of students with high scientific literacy, with the Tukey-test Qcount Test (10.986) > Qtable (4.33); and (4) student’s critical thinking skills given Inkuiri Mandiri Model is lower than Guided Inquiry in group of students who have low scientific literacy, with the Tukey-test Qcount Test (4.369) > Qtable (4.33).

Abstract. This study aims to determine the use of inquiry-based learning model laboratory to increase critical thinking skills of students of SMP Negeri 6 Banda Aceh on light reflection material. The method used is a quasi-experimental control group design with pre-test and post-test design. The population in this study is in the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 6 Banda Aceh. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique. As for the samples in the study were students VIII2 as an experimental class, and the class as a class VIII5 control the number of students in each class of 30 people. Experimental class taught by laboratory-based inquiry learning model, and the control class was taught by conventional learning models. Data collected through the research instrument is test critical thinking skills in essay form. Conclusions are drawn based on the results of data analysis and processing using Microsoft Word Exel, 2013. The results of data analysis showed an average score of critical thinking skills and experimental control group was 27.90% (low) and 42.02% (moderate). This result was also confirmed by the t-test, the average difference in the improvement of critical thinking skills (α = 0.05) obtained t (6.10) t table (2.39). These results indicate a laboratory-based inquiry learning model can significantly improve the students' critical thinking skills compared with conventional learning models in light reflection material. Keywords: Model inquiry, and critical thinking skills
