The title of this research is deixis in the Song Lyrics “Level of Concern” by Twenty One Pilots. The objectives of this research are to identify the type of deixis and to find out the dominant types of deixis that are mostly used in the song lyrics entitled Level of Concern. This research used descriptive qualitative method. The researchers took the data from (Joseph, 2020) of the song lyric entitled “Level of Concern” by Twenty One Pilots, for it describes the current world situation, and the lyrics of the song contains a wide range of deixis that have attracted the researchers to examine this song. After conducting this research, the researchers concluded that three types of deixis namely personal, spatial, and temporal deixis. Personal deixis divided into three parts: the first person as speaker, the second person as hearer and the third person as others, with 77 words in that song. Temporal deixis showed a certain period of time which consist of 3 words, and the spatial deixis describes the location in a conversation which consist of  2 words. The major type from the whole data are personal deixis, because they represent the singer and the message which wanted to be delivered to the listeners. Keywords:  Pragmatic, Deixis, Song Lyric

The title of this research is analyzing the Deixis of Song Lyrics in Adele entitled “All I Ask”. The researchers used a descriptive qualitative method in this research. This research are aimed to find out the types of deixis (Personal, Spatial, and Temporal) and the most dominant deixis which found in the lyrics of Adele's song. Based on the results and discussion, the researchers concluded that all deixis which proposed by Yule are found in Adele’s song lyrics. Personal deixis is mostly found in 38 occurrences dominate in this song. The words are “I, me, we, our, ours, us, and my” as the first person deixis, “you, and your” as the second person deixis, and “they and it” as the third person deixis. In the second position is spatial deixis, this, and in your eyes which found in 5 occurrences. The third position is temporal deixis, coming next, tomorrow, and last night which found in 3 occurrences. Keywords:  Deixis, Song, Lyric

This research  entitled The Analysis of Deixis in The Novel The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. Deixis is a study to describe the relation between language and contexts in language structure itself. The objectives of this study are (1) to find out and identify types of deixis in the novel The Fault in Our Stars (2) to analyze the function of each deixis type found in the novel The Fault in Our Stars. The data were collected using documentation and observation methods using the reading and note taking techniwques. Qualitative method was used to analyze the data and the method were done by descriptive technique. The method of presenting the result of data analysis was the descriptive method and was done by argumentative technique. The result of the research shows that there are three types of deixis found in the novel The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, namely person deixis, spatial deixis and temporal deixis. Person deixis consists of first person, second person and third person. The first person deixis is used to identify the speaker. The second person deixis is used to show the addressee. The third person deixis is used to show the referent not identified as the speaker or the addressee. The spatial deixis is used to describe a location participant in speech event. Temporal deixis is used to point a certain period of time.

Person deixis can be found in various speeches, both located in everyday speech and dialogue between characters in a film, including Dua Garis Biru. This study aims to classify and analyze the kinds of person deixis and their functions in the movie Dua Garis Biru. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The data analysis in this study used a pragmatic approach. They are collecting data using the observation method with note-taking techniques. The results showed that the types of personal deixis used in the film Dua Garis Biru are single and plural form. They are singular and plural first person deixis, singular and plural second-person deixis, and third single and plural third person deixis. Each type of person deixis has a different function according to its context and reference. The singular first-person deixis is saya, aku (English: I/me),gue and gua (English:I/me in informal style),-ku (English: my). The first person deixis in the plural is kita and kami (English: we/us). The single second person deixis used in the film Dua Garis Biru is kamu (English: you), -mu (English: your), loe and lu (English: you), while the second person plural deixis is kalian (English: you). The third person deixis consists of singular third-person deixis, namely he/her or his/her, and the plural third-person deixis, namely they/their/them and everybody. The use of deixis is influenced by familiarity, age, social status, and speech situation.

AbstractThis research aims to analyze four types of deixis by using theory of Alan Cruse (2000), interpret the reference meaning of deixis and find out the most dominant type of deixis that found in the song lyrics of Taylor Swift “22”. it consists of such deictic words that has reference meanings. Therefore, the song lyrics can be analyzed using pragmatic approach,specifically about deixis. This study was conducted by using descriptive qualitative method. The data which is used is the song of Taylor Swift “22” and then it is classified into the types of deixis. The findings showed that the types of deixis like person deixis, spatial deixis, temporal deixis, and discourse deixis are used in the song lyrics of Taylor Swift “22”. Based on discussion and finding can be concluded that all deixis are found in all songs, personal deixis is the most being found (15 Deictic words or 51,7%) the word “I, Me, You and We dominate all songs. in the second position Discourse Deixis is found (8 deictic words or 27,6%) and Spatial Deixis (5 deictic words or 17,2%), in the last position is Temporal Deixis (1 Deictic words or 3,4% )Keywords: pragmatics, deixis, song lyric

The tittle of this research is An AnalysisDeixis in “Nom nom’s Entourage” Manuscript on We are Bare BearsMovie Seaso. Deixis is one of branch from pragmatics that shown relation between language and context in that language it self. The aim from this research is to know and identify the type of deixis in Nom nom’s Entourage movie season. That have some steps to collecting the data firs is watching the We Are Bare Bears movie season with Nom nom’s Entourage title. Second is reading the script of that movie. Third, selecting and collect the data. Fourth is classifying the type of deixis and the last is produce the conclution. This research using descriptive qualitative method to analyze the data. The result from this research is that have five type of deixis there are person deixis, time deixis, place deixis, social deixis and discourse deixis. Person deixis divided to three part there are firs person as speaker, second person as hearer and third person as other, with 195 word in that movie. Time deixis shows a certain period of time, consist of 10 word in that movie. Place deixis describe the location in a conversation, consist of  26 word in that movie. Social deixis is show how the social differences when talking with other, consist of 18 word in that movie. Nouns are inflected for gender (masculine, feminine, neuter), number (singular and plural), and case: nominative, accusative, genitive, dative. Except in -u- stems, the vocative has the form of the accusative and/or is syncretized with the nominative. Demonstratives and pronominals have a residual instrumental, e.g. þe (by this), and ablative, e.g. jáinþro (from there). Adjectives are similarly inflected but also have strong and weak forms. Comparatives and nonpast participles are weak. The precise syntactic status of D-words (demonstratives, determiners, and articles) is impossible to test. Personal pronouns of the first and second person are inflected for singular, plural, and dual, and have no gender distinction. The third person pronoun has all three genders but only singular and plural number. Interrogative and indefinite pronouns are morphologically identical. Gothic has a rich negative polarity system. Numerals are partly inflected and partly indeclinable. Deictic adverbs belong to an old local case system.

ABSTRACTChildren with specific language impairment (SLI) vary widely in their ability to use tense/agreement inflections depending on the type of language being acquired, a fact that current accounts of SLI have tried to explain. Finnish provides an important test case for these accounts because: (1) verbs in the first and second person permit null subjects whereas verbs in the third person do not; and (2) tense and agreement inflections are agglutinating and thus one type of inflection can appear without the other. Probes were used to compare the verb inflection use of Finnish-speaking children with SLI, and both age-matched and younger typically developing children. The children with SLI were less accurate, and the pattern of their errors did not match predictions based on current accounts of SLI. It appears that children with SLI have difficulty learning complex verb inflection paradigms apart from any problem specific to tense and agreement.

The destruction of man in the Shoah or Holocaust did not mean that Levinas argues in favor of turning away from the socio-historical reality to cultivate his own little garden. The deepest truth of subjectivity can be found in an alterity that calls for a socio-political responsibility. The political implications are rooted in different layers of Levinas’s thought. In his Talmudic comments, Levinas questions the reality of war as the truth of politics. But his explorations of subjectivity, ethical relationality and society allow to understand different political options such as contract theory (responsibility in the first person), liberation philosophy and human rights (responsibility in the second person) and the necessity of building a just society (ethics in the third person). Paradoxically, a just and equitable society ignores the uniqueness of the unique other. While organized responsibility is necessary, it introduces a new form of violence. In this article, we bring together the different layers in Levinas’s political vision and we explore its limits. A fundamental question is whether Levinas’s vision of politics is based on ethics or whether his ethics is a critique of politics.

Abstrak: Penelitian Analisis Penggunaan Kohesi Referensi pada Naskah Drama Siswa SMAN 2 Kandangan merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan penggunaan kohesi referensi pada naskah drama siswa SMAN 2 Kandangan. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Populasi data dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMAN 2 Kandangan. Objek siswa SMAN 2 Kandangan yang dipilih adalah siswa jurusan IPA dan IPS kelas XI. Teknik penentuan subjek didasarkan pada pengambilan sampel yang dilakukan secara random sampling. Adapun objek penelitian ini adalah penggunaan peranti kohesi referensi dalam naskah drama siswa SMAN 2 Kandangan. Data diperoleh dengan metode membaca dan teknik mencatat. Metode analisisnya menggunakan metode analisi deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini dapat dideskripsikan penggunaan peranti kohesi referensi pada naskah drama siswa SMAN 2 Kandangan, yaitu (1) kohesi referensi pronomina persona adalah pronomina yang dipakai untuk mengacu pada orang. Pronomina persona terdiri atas persona orang pertama tunggal dan jamak, pronomina orang kedu tunggal dan jamak, dan pronomina orang ketiga tunggal dan jamak; (2) kohesi pronomina demonstratif adalah pronomina penunjuk umum, pronomina penunjuk tempat, dan pronomina penunjuk hal ikhwal; (3) kohesi referensi komparatif adalah kohesi referensi yang menyatakan perbandingan unsur yang satu dibandingkan dengan unsur yang lain. Kohesi referensi komparatif terdiri atas kohesi referensi komparatif yang menyatakan kurang, kohesi referensi komparatif yang menyatakan sama, dan kohesi referensi komparatif yang menyatakan lebih.Kata kunci: Kohesi, referensi, naskah drama Abstract: This study Analisis Penggunaan Kohesi Referensi pada Naskah Drama Siswa SMAN 2 Kandangan is descriptive study. The data population is the student of SMAN 2 Kandangan. The object of this study is SMAN 2 Kandangan from Science and Social class of second grade. Subject determination technique is based on random sampling.The data are gained through reading and writing. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The object of this study is the using of reference cohesion instrument in drama script of SMAN 2 Kandangan’ students. The result shows that the using of reference cohesion instrument in drama script by the student of SMAN 2 Kandangan are (1) pronomen reference cohesion is pronomen refers to a person. Person pronomen consist of singular and plural of first person. Pronomen singular and plural of second person, and pronomen singular and plural of third person; (2) demonstrative pronomen cohesion is general instruction pronomen, place instruction pronomen, cause instruction pronomen, occurances instruction pronomen; (3) comparative reference cohesion is reference cohesion that stating comparation of one component to the other one. Comparative reference cohesion consists of comparative reference cohesion that stating inefficient, comparative reference cohesion that stating equality, and comparative reference cohesion that stating more.Key words: cohesion, reference, drama script

This research aims to describe the use of deixis in Gorontalo Language. This research was conducted in two stages namely the stage of preparation and implementation of the research. This research was conducted for 1 year. The result of the research showed that the form and meaning of deixis are person deixis, time and place. Persona deixis is divided into several types is deixis of first-person singular (wa’u ‘1sg’, watiya ‘1sg’), deixis of the first person plural (ami ‘1pl.excl’), deixis of the second person singular (yi’o ‘2sg’, tingoli ‘2sg’), deixis of the second person plural (tingoli ‘2pl’, timongoli ‘2pl’), and deixis of the third person singular (tio ‘3sg’) and timongolio ‘3pl’ as a deixis of the third person plural. Whereas, deixis of place are teye, teyamai ‘here’, tetomota ‘there’ this means to show the location of the room and the place of conversation or interlocutor. Deixis time among others yindhie ‘today’, lombu ‘tomorrow’, olango ‘yesterday’, dumodupo ‘morning’, mohulonu ‘afternoon’, hui ‘night’ which have the meaning to show the time when the speech or sentence is being delivered.
