The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of the differences in the strength of social capital that is bonding and bridging two community groups, namely land-dwellers and Sama Bajo boat-dwellers in three islands in Wakatobi Marine National Park. This study used a post-positivistic research paradigm, and the primary data were collected by using a questionnaire to 240 respondents who represented the group of land-dwellers and Sama Bajo boat-dwellers on the islands of Wangi-wangi, Kaledupa, and Tomia. This research was also supported by qualitative data through in-depth interviews from several informants and desk studies. The results showed that bridging social capital relations tend to be weak in the two forms of interactions between the Sama Bajo and the land-dwellers on Wangi-wangi Island and Kaledupa Island, while bridging social capital tend to be secured in Tomia Island. We found that the social context through the historical links in the past and identity played a role in the relationship of bridging social capital and bonding social capital in the three communities as an analytical unit of this research.

The purpose of this research is to discover the factors which create the bonding social capital strengthening the relationship amongst Lengkong Kyai residents, Tangerang Regency, Banten, Indonesia. This research employs the qualitative method by triangulating primary data collected from in-depth interviews with local community leaders and public figures, field observation, and secondary data in the form of video recording, journalistic publications, and scientific journals from previous researches. The result shows that historical legacy, maintenance strategy, implantation of cultural, religious, and spiritual beliefs values, shared identity, as well as a relationship based on mutual trust are the factors contributing to the bonding social capital amongst Lengkong Kyai Residents. The novelty of this research is pointing out that policymakers, developers, even capitalist-oriented academicians often neglect the existence of bonding social capital in the development of urban settlements. This neglect often creates tension between kampong enclave’s residents and housing developers. Coexisting and mutual respect becomes important in building bridging and linking social capital between kampong residents, housing developers, local government, and private city dwellers.

The article presents the study of the relationship of social capital of migrants from the Asian former USSR republics with their acculturation strategies and their socio-cultural adaptation. Based on the wide literature review, we suggested that two types of individual social capital of migrants (“bridging” and “bonding”), depending on the combination of their levels (high-low), may lead to the preference of one of the four acculturation strategies (integration, assimilation, separation, marginalization) and further contribute to or hinder socio-cultural adaptation. This study demonstrated that these two types of individual social capital (“bridging” and “bonding”) associated with three of the four acculturation strategies. In addition, the “bridging” social capital has an indirect positive effect on socio-cultural adaptation in which the mediator is the integration strategy. The “bonding” social capital has not demonstrated a statistically significant indirect effect on socio-cultural adaptation of migrants from the Asian former USSR republics.

The research paper aims to identify significant factors affecting towards the Social Media Marketing which can influence and affect the Brand Image of organizations in the hospitality sector. The identified factors include the following; 1. Positivity, 2. Consistency, 3. Differentiation, 4. Personality, and 5. Engagement Opportunities on Social Media. A framework was developed to highlight the relationship of the factors and their direct influence and impact on the Brand Image. A questionnaire is used to obtain primary data, and the data is analysed using a variety of statistical tools to measure and evaluate the strength of the influence and impact of Social Media Marketing on Brand Image of Hospitality Brands. Assessing the influence and impact of Social Media Marketing on their Brand Image can help organizations in the hospitality industry to evaluate the success of their Social Media Marketing Campaigns, while organizations that are currently not engaged in Social Media Marketing can gain a better understanding on how to utilize Social Media platforms to enhance their Brand Image.

This study examined links between employee interaction with their organization’s official Facebook page, social capital, and employee identification with the organization. Results indicate employee interaction with their company’s Facebook page was positively related to organizational identification and bridging and bonding social capital. Moreover, the relationship between interaction with the company Facebook page and identification was partially mediated by bridging social capital outcomes. Overall, results suggest the company Facebook page is an important communicative bridge between the employee and the larger organization, enhancing the employee-organization relationship. Results contribute to our understanding of social media and organizational identification, as well as our understanding of social capital associated with social media use in organizational settings.

Social capital, which is derived from psychological research, has an important value in the construction of network relationships in enterprises. It influences the direction and tendency of network connections in start-up enterprises and has gradually become an important factor in the study of entrepreneurship by scholars. However, the relationship between this and the effectiveness of innovation is unclear. In this study, the social capital is divided into bonding social capital and bridging social capital, and specific data of agricultural entrepreneurs are collected through questionnaire surveys. The results show that both bonding and bridging social capital have a significant positive effect on agricultural entrepreneurship performance. The entrepreneurial capacity of agricultural entrepreneurs regulates the relationship between social capital and creative performance. In the relationship between integrated social capital and creative performance, operational competency plays a positive role and opportunity recognition plays a negative role. On the other hand, in the relationship between bridging social capital and creative performance, the opportunity recognition plays a positive role and the operational competency plays a negative role. Finally, based on the above findings, this study proposes theoretical and practical implications and suggestions for follow-up research.

Agricultural extension is a communication process which is influenced by social capital. This research aims to analyze the relationship of social capital of agricultural extension officers and the success of agricultural extension. This research was conducted in Limbung Village and Tubajeng Village, Bajeng Sub-district, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi from October to November 2017. The Number of samples in this research were 75 respondents taken from 3 farmer groups namely Farmer Group of Sappaya III, Farmer Group of Taipa Bannya I, and Farmer Group of Bontorita I. Analysis of the data was using pearson product moment correlation analysis on questionnaire with Likert scale.  The results showed that the extension programs implemented by extension workers were considered successful by farmers. The social capital of agricultural extension workers assigned to research sites, in the form of trust, reciprocity and social networks is quite high. This is because the farmers assess the performance of extension workers quite well and the farmers are very pleased with the assistance provided especially the provision of information and technology about the farming that they practice. The study also found that social capital in the form of trust, reciprocity, and social network of extension workers partially or collectively affect the success of agriculture extension programs in the three farmer groups studied.

This study aims to study social capital in the survival strategies of poor farmers. The research was conducted for 6 months, from April to October 2020, with the research location in Minahasa Regency. This research was designed descriptively, with a survey method. Sampling was selected purposively on farmers in Minahasa district with 100 farmers as respondents. The data collected in this study are primary and secondary data. Primary data were collected directly through in-depth interviews with farmers. The results showed that the stronger the farmer's social capital, the better his survival strategy. On the other hand, the weaker the social capital, the poor farmer's survival strategy was getting worse.

          The purpose of this research is to know the influence of Malay and Islam in shaping the social character of Palembang Malay workers in global economic development. The Islamic economic norms embedded and rooted in the local social identity of the local Malays are the key determinants of evaluative aspects of a judging nature. This research departs from the reason as Ushul Fiqih's written adage says "Al-Muhafazhatu'alal 'qadimis salih wal-akhdzu bil jadidil ashlah" which means "Maintaining a good old value and seeking new value better.” Field research with the participation of observations and in-depth interviews uses a qualitative approach. Respondents in this study are Palembang original Malay Muslim community, spread over 14 districts using random sampling technique. While the method of data analysis is cyclical of three stages: data collection, data display and data verification.           The results of this study prove that excessive material competition in the global economy has resulted in an anomic Palembang Malay society. Achievements in the economic field, it turns out to have transformed Palembang Malay people into a generation that is uprooted from values, fragile from the spiritual aspect, give up easily and lose socio-economic footing. The relationship of Malayness and Islamism obscures the role and competitiveness of Palembang Malay Muslims themselves in the global economic arena.

AbstrakModal sosial adalah kemampuan masyarakat untuk bekerjasama demi mencapai suatu tujuan bersama didalam suatu kelompok. Hutan Adat Pikul memiliki potensi tengkawang yang sangat melimpah yang dimanfaatkan masyarakat sekitar hutan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan hidup. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui modal sosial masyarakat yang terdiri dari modal sosial kognitif dan struktural dan hubungan modal sosial terhadap pemanfaatan buah tengkawang di hutan Adat Pikul. Penelitian ini menggunakan konsep uphoff, dengan metode survei, teknik pengumpulan data dengan wawancara menggunakan kuesioner dan wawancara mendalam kepada responden kunci. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah masyarakat Dusun Melayang yang memanfaatkan buah tengkawang yang dipilih secara sengaja (purposive sampling) yang terdiri dari 30 orang. Besarnya tingkat modal sosial masyarakat analisis menggunakan persamaan selang nilai dan hubungan modal sosial dianalisis menggunakan uji koefisien Peringkat Sperman. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa modal sosial dalam pemanfaatan buah tengkawang pada masyarakat Dusun Melayang tergolong tinggi. Modal sosial kognitif yang terdiri dari kepercayaan, kerjasama dan solidaritas serta Modal sosial struktural yang terdiri dari aturan, peranan, dan jaringan keduanya tergolong tinggi. Hubungan modal sosial terhadap pemanfaatan tengkawang memiliki hubungan yang searah dan kuat, kedua unsur modal sosial Kognitif dan struktural berhubungan sangat nyata terhadap pemanfaatan tengkawang. Korelasi nyata yang terjadi berupa korelasi positif yang menunjukkan semakin tinggi tingkat modal sosial struktural dan modal sosial kognitif yang terbentuk, semakin baik pula pemanfaatan buah tengkawang di hutan Adat Pikul.Kata kunci: Modal Sosial, Buah Tengkawang, Hutan Adat PikulAbstractThe Social capital is the ability of the community which work together to achieve a common goal within group. Pikul costomary forest has the potential of tengkawang that was abundant and utilized by the community around the forest to fulfill their daily needs. This study aimed to determine community social capital consists of cognitive and structural social capital and the relationship of social capital how to use of tengkawang fruit in the Pikul indigenous forest. This study used the concept of upoff, with survey methods, data collection techniques with interviews used questionnaires and in-depth interviews with key respondents. Respondents in this study were Melayang Hamlet community who used tengkawang fruit intentionally (purposive sampling) which consist of 30 people. The magnitude level of social capital used the value interval equation and the relationship of social capital was analyzed of Sperman rating coefficient test. The results showed the social capital in used tengkawang fruit in Melayang sub-village was classified as "high". The cognitive social capital consists of trust, cooperation and solidarity. The structural social capital consists of rules, roles, and networks were both classified as "high". The relationship of social capital which used of tengkawang has a direct and strong relationship, the two elements of Cognitive and structural social capital were very significan and relate with the way how to use tengkawang. The real correlation was occurred in the form of positive correlation that showed the higher level of structural social capital and cognitive social capital formed, which better used of tengkawang fruit in the Pikul costomary forest.Keywords: social capital, tengkawang fruit, Pikul costomary forest

Social networking sites offer new avenues for interpersonal communication that may enable people to build social capital. The meta-analyses reported in this paper evaluated the relationship between social network site (SNS) use and 2 types of social capital: bridging social capital and bonding social capital. The meta-analyses included data from 58 articles gathered through scholarly databases and a hand search of the early publications of relevant journals. Using a random effects model, the overall effect size of the relationship between SNS use and bridging social capital based on k = 50 studies and N = 22,290 participants was r = .32 (95% CI [.27, .37]), and the overall effect size between SNS use and bonding social capital based on k = 43 studies and N = 19,439 participants was r = .26 (95% CI [.22, .31]). The relationships between SNS use and both types of social capital were stronger in men than in women, and the relationship between SNS use and bridging capital was stronger in Western, individualistic countries than Eastern, collectivistic countries. Additional analyses of specific SNS activities indicated that SNS use promotes social capital by facilitating contact and interaction among people who already know each other offline rather than contact with people who were met online. The implication is that SNSs offer a platform to strengthen existing relationships.
