Case study analysis can be an effective teaching method for developing business consultation skills. Maintenance, especially in a Marine environment, is continuous and costly. Life Cycle Management of a Marine Gas Turbine system encompasses many costs, of which repair parts, labor and equipment downtime associated with failures and maintenance are a significant portion. In fact, people (labor) make up the largest component of overall maintenance costs. Investing in people the largest cost driver to life cycle cost has a direct return in the long run, in terms of maintenance effectiveness and efficiencies. Applying and reinforcing knowledge and skills in a maintenance environment translates to improved reliability outcomes, longer operating time, fewer parts needs, and ultimately costs savings. However, given today’s constrained fiscal environment, the value of spending money for training rather than buying more parts or applying more maintenance, may not appear obvious. Such thinking is short sighted, and ultimately leads to reduced reliability and increased maintenance in the long run. This paper will explore these areas, and recommend how training programs can be effective predictive, proactive and responsive.

ABSTRACT Objective: to understand the contributions of the National Program of Reorientation of Professional Training in Health (Pró-Saúde) for the change in the model of care and training of health professionals. Methods: a case study with representatives of the teaching, care, management and social control, participants of the management units of the Pró-Saúde (Charitable institution for social and hospital assistance), in a municipality of the south of Brazil. Data collection took place through interviews and observations between October 2012 and February 2013. Results: the Program acts as a device for the transition of health care and training models, by promoting the problematization of daily work and the approximation between teaching and service. Emphasis is placed on the importance of the subjects’ commitment and the different perspectives on the community. Conclusion: Pró-Saúde leaves visible marks in the process of qualifying students and professionals, as well as promoting collaborative action in the fields of management, care, teaching and social control in the SUS (Brazilian Unified Health System).

The premises from general education that have important implications for direct evaluation of professional trainees, teachers, and training programs in special education are presented in this article. They include the following: (a) the focus of professional training programs should be on the teaching process; (b) specific training objectives and evaluation procedures are 2 requisites for any training program; (c) direct evaluation of the teaching process is feasible; and (d) specific statements of criteria are prerequisites to research in teacher education.

Three years ago Kent State began making the transition from a traditional student teaching program to the Teacher Education Center approach. The major purpose was to bring together school and university people in a parity relationship to jointly plan, implement and evaluate the field-based components of professional training programs. As Kent State moved into the center approach, the responsibilities of student teaching supervisors began to change significantly. This prompted a redefinition of the role and title change to clinical professor. Last year the analysis of the data received from a comprehensive formative evaluation effort of our TEC program was completed. A major component of the assessment was the in-depth examination of the clinical professorship as perceived by TEC administrators, cooperating teachers, associate teachers and clinical professors. The data, analyses, and implications are reported in this manuscript. A major overall implication of the findings is that the clinical professor is the critical linkage between school and university in teacher preparation.

The article discusses the norms of civil aviation legislation governing the training of commercial aircraft pilotsfor the purpose of sustainable development of the civil aviation of the Russian Federation. The analysis of ICAO standards and recommended practices in the field of professional training of flight crew members was carried out in order to: -research the practice of using the regulatory framework in the development and implementation of training programs for flight crew members of civil aviation of the Russian Federation; - identify of shortcomings in the regulatory framework in the field of professional training of flight crew members; - develop recommendations for improving the air legislation of the Russian Federation, taking into account the requirements of ICAO.

This study aimed to highlight the challenge that Secondary School teachers face in integrating the Islamic concept of tawhid in teaching science and history subjects. The research employed a qualitative design using a case study and collect data. A purposive sample consisting of 5 teachers from Al-Amin Islamic Secondary School was selected based on teaching experience. The teachers were interviewed according to a theme-based strategy, and collected data was transcribed and analyzed accordingly. Findings have shown that integrating tawhid in the subjects of Science and History is an aim that teachers in Islamic schools in Malaysia hope to achieve. However, obstacles and challenges continue to hinder their efforts. Theoretical and practical propositions and recommendations to make this aim achievable, such as revisiting the concept of tawhid integration, enhancing teachers' creativity skills in the classroom, and providing relevant training programs by school authorities, would undoubtedly help attain their ultimate objective.
