An Inclusive Teaching Program From the Socio-Intercultural Entrepreneurship Approach

This chapter aims to elaborate a critical assessment of socio-intercultural entrepreneurship. The study is supported on the assumption that culture and social entrepreneurship are limited and that a framework analysis that helps to improve the understanding of the socio-economic realities is necessary. The research methodology employed were the exploratory and analytical instruments based on literature review and the transference of findings to a specific case on a postgraduate program in economy and international business at the Autonomous Indigenous University of Mexico. It's concluded that socio-intercultural entrepreneurship presents a methodological frame that allows entrepreneurs to have a major perception of global and local realities.

Effectiveness of School-Based Teaching Program on Knowledge Regarding Recognition and Management of Adolescent's Suicidal Behavior Among School Teachers in Selected Schools, Sikkim

Objective Suicide is a global public health concern. It is the second leading cause of death among 15 to 29 years old. Suicide ideation often emerges in adolescence and is prevalent among this age group. With the help of leaders, teachers as mentors can play an effective role in the prevention of suicide among children and young adults. The present study was performed to assess the effectiveness of school-based teaching programs on knowledge regarding the recognition and management of adolescent's suicidal behavior among school teachers. Materials and Methods A quantitative research approach with a pre-experimental (one group pre-test and post-test) research design was adopted. The study was conducted at Government schools of East Sikkim among 80 secondary school teachers. The samples were assigned through the purposive sampling technique. A pre-designed knowledge questionnaire was used to assess the knowledge of schoolteachers. A pre-test was conducted during the first week of data collection, which was followed by a school-based teaching program regarding recognition and management of adolescents' suicidal behavior on the second week. A post-test was conducted during the fourth week using the same pre-designed knowledge questionnaire. Data analysis was done using the SPSS version 25 applying descriptive and inferential statistical methods. Results The study findings revealed that in pre-test knowledge score, 5% had good knowledge, whereas in post-test, score 50% had good knowledge regarding recognition and management of adolescent's suicidal behavior. The mean score during the pre-test was 12.78 ± 2.87 and the mean score during the post-test was 16.44 ± 2.50. The computed paired “t” value (11.9) was higher than the tabled value (t79 = 1.99; p < 0.05). An association was found between pre-test knowledge score regarding recognition and management of adolescent's suicidal behavior with gender, religion, and years of working experience at p < 0.05 level. Conclusion The study concluded that school-based teaching programs helped secondary school teachers to improve their knowledge regarding adolescents' suicidal behavior. The gain in knowledge from the school-based teaching program will help them recognize and manage adolescents with suicidal behavior and initiate appropriate referrals in the future.

The Effect of Brainstorming Strategy on Learning Some Fundamental Skill in Basketball Players Of Sulaymaniyah Sport School Club

The researcher aimed at identifying the effect of barnstorming strategy on basketball fundamental skill for Sulaymaniyah sport school club. The researchers used the experimental method on (10) basketball players from Sulaymania sport school club. The program was applied for six weeks with two sessions per week to conclude the positive effect of the teaching program using brainstorming on offensive skills in basketball players. The researchers also concluded that the teaching program was very useful for developing the subjects’ abilities and needs. Finally, they recommended using this style for teaching physical education and sport sciences students as well as using this style for teaching other skills in other sports due to its great positive effect.

Motor Skills Development: Peculiarities of Programmed Teaching of Acrobatic Exercises to Girls Aged 15

The purpose of the study was to determine the peculiarities of programmed teaching of a cartwheel to girls aged 15. Material and methods. The study participants were 20 girls aged 15. The children and their parents were fully informed about all the features of the study and gave their consent to participate in the experiment. To solve the tasks set, the following research methods were used: study and analysis of scientific and methodological literature; pedagogical observation, timing of training tasks; pedagogical experiment, methods of mathematical statistics, factor analysis, nearest neighbor analysis. Results. The analysis of similarities revealed that the program components are interrelated. Series of training tasks ІV, V and VI have the highest correlation. Series of training tasks І, ІІІ and IV are combined into one group and provide conditions for teaching girls aged 15 the cartwheel. Conclusions. The study obtained factor models of the teaching program, which explain 70.645% and 68.468% of the variation of results. The models characterize the two-factor structure of the teaching program where training tasks are closely connected with one another, which indicates their effective selection. It was found that the tasks of series I, II and III, and the tasks of series III, IV and V are most connected with one another, which confirms the combined nature of the method of algorithmic instructions. Optimization of the number of repetitions of the entire exercise (series of tasks VI) depends on the amount of exercises of the second and fifth series of training tasks.

Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia Bundle of Care Training of Nursing Officers Using Simulation and Its Impact on Their Knowledge and Incidence of Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia: A quasi-experimental Study

The objective of this study was to assess the effectiveness of simulation-based training (SBT) of a ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) bundle of care on the knowledge and practice of nursing officers working in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) and its impact on the incidence of VAP. This study was a single-center, pre- and postsimulation-based educational interventional tool conducted in a six-bed PICU located in Western Rajasthan, India. Thirty nursing officers working in the PICU participated in the study. Baseline knowledge and practice regarding VAP bundle of care were assessed using a questionnaire and practice checklist. It was followed by 1:1 SBT of the VAP bundle of care following which all participants were immediately reassessed and then again at 3 months postintervention. The incidence of VAP (events/1,000 ventilation days) was subsequently compared both at 6 months pre- and postintervention. Thirty nursing officers participated in the study of which 63% were male. Baseline knowledge and practice increased significantly immediately after the VAP bundle of care training and then again at 3 months in comparison to preintervention testing (baseline 20.27 ± 4.51, immediate postintervention 26.0 ± 3.67, 3 months postintervention 23.97 ± 4.69). The incidence of VAP showed a declining trend from 46.1 to 36.5/1,000 ventilation days; however, this finding was not statistically significant (p = 0.22). The simulation-based teaching program significantly enhanced nursing officers' knowledge and practice toward utilization of a preventive VAP bundle of care. There was decay in knowledge with time indicating that repetitive sessions are required at regular intervals to sustain this effect.

Impact of Planned Teaching Program on COVID- 19 Vaccination in Terms of Knowledge and Attitude among the People in Selected Rural Area of Nadiad Taluka

Introduction: Vaccination is intended to prevent diseases. Vaccines saves 2-3 million lives every year. A COVID-19 vaccine is one of the best way to provide acquired immunity against COVID -19. The study aims to assess the effectiveness of planned teaching program in terms of knowledge and attitude [1]. Objective: To assess the impact of planned teaching program on COVID- 19 vaccination in terms of knowledge and attitude among the rural people. Method: A quantitative study with one group pre test post test design was conducted at various rural places of Nadiad Taluka. A total 60 people were enrolled in to the study. A structured knowledge questionnaire and likert attitude scale was built that contained information regarding COVID 19 vaccination. The effect of teaching program was analyzed by statically Results: T-test and chi square test was used to find the association with selected demographic variables. In the knowledge regarding COVID-19 vaccination range was 8, mean was 0.849 standard deviation was 0.357, standard error mean was 0.0595. In the attitude range was 33, mean was 4.345, standard deviation was 0.797, standard error mean was 0.132. A knowledge paired t-test value was 5.30 and the attitude paired t-test value was 6.57 was. Conclusion: The planned teaching program was effective in increasing knowledge and attitude regarding COVID-19 vaccination among the rural people of Nadiad Taluka.

Online multidisciplinary integrated rural healthcare education programs during the COVID-19 pandemic for students from different universities: experiences and guidelines

PurposeThe COVID-19 pandemic has led to “forced innovation” in the health education industry. High-quality training of the future rural health workforce is crucial to ensure a pipeline of rural health practitioners to meet the needs of rural communities. This paper describes the implementation of an online multidisciplinary teaching program focusing on integrated care and the needs of rural communities.Design/methodology/approachA multidisciplinary teaching program was adapted to allow students from various disciplines and universities to learn together during the COVID-19 pandemic. Contemporary issues such as the National Aged Care Advocacy Program for Residential Aged Care COVID-19 Project were explored during the program.FindingsThis case study describes how the program was adopted, how learning needs were met, practical examples (e.g. the Hand Hygiene Advocacy within a Rural School Setting Project), the challenges faced and solutions developed to address these challenges. Guidelines are proposed for remote multidisciplinary learning among health professional students, including those in medical, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, and allied health disciplines.Originality/valueThe originality of this program centers around students from multiple universities and disciplines and various year levels learning together in a rural area over an extended period of time. Collaboration among universities assists educators in rural areas to achieve critical mass to teach students. In addition it provides experiences and guidance for the work integrated learning sector, rural health workforce practitioners, rural clinical schools, universities, policy makers, and educators who wish to expand rural online multidisciplinary learning.

A Study to assess the effectiveness of Structured Teaching Programme on knowledge regarding the First aid management of Convulsion in children among primary school teachers of selected schools at Kollam

A study to assess the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on knowledge regarding the first aid management of convulsions in selected schools at Kollam. The objectives of the study were to:a) To assess the knowledge regarding the first aid management of convulsion in children among primary school teachers of selected schools at Kollam.b) To assess the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on knowledge regarding first aid management of convulsion in children among primary school teachers in selected schools at Kollam.c) To find the association between knowledge of primary school teachers regarding first aid management of convulsion in children with their selected demographic variables. A quantitative approach was used with one group pretestposttest only design. Convenient sampling was used. Sample size was 60. The investigator assessed primary school teachers knowledge using structured questionnaire regarding first aid management of convulsion. After conducting the pretest, structured teaching programme was introduced to the primary school teachers. Posttest was conducted on fifth day using the same research tool. It is found that the calculated t value is greater than table value. There is significant difference between pretest and posttest scores of knowledge of primary school teachers. There is no association between pretest knowledge and selected demographic variables. The finding of the study suggests that structured teaching program is effective in increasing the knowledge of primary school teachers regarding first aid management of convulsion.

Evaluate the effectiveness of structured teaching program on knowledge regarding moral development among higher primary school children in selected schools at Kollegal

Children learn their morals both from their family of origin, and the larger community of friends and school. This process can be guided and worked with a bit better if the adult understands the different levels of moral understanding that a child goes through at what age. The research approach adopted for the study was evaluative approach and the research design adopted was quasi experimental design. Fifty students from National higher primary school, kollegal were selected as control group and fifty students from xiv wisdom school; kollegal was selected as experimental group by purposive sampling. Structured questionnaire containing 24 items on knowledge had used. The reliability of the tool was tested by using test retest method and it was found to be r =0.97 for knowledge questionnaires. Pre assessment of knowledge regarding moral development was done after which the structured teaching program was administered to the higher primary school children in experimental group alone and the post assessment was done after 7 days gap. Data were analyzed by SPSS version -16 t” test was used for finding the effectiveness, Chi square test was used for finding out the association between demographic variables and pretest knowledge. The findings of the study revealed that the planned teaching program regarding moral development among higher primary school children was effective and the posttest knowledge on moral development higher than the pretest score. Hence the structured teaching program found to be effective in increasing the knowledge of students.
