The state of nutritional status of children in Central Java based on index of height for age data obtained 16.9% of children who have growth in a very short, short 17.0% of infants and 66.1% of normal infants. Economic growth in Sragen in 2000 was 2.85%, decreased in 2001 to 2.26%, and increased in 2002-2003, respectively 2.93% and 3.26%. Research methode was observational cross sectional analytic approach. The number of samples was 65 toddlers. Data analysis using Chi Square. The nutritional status of children by index weight for age (W/A) were experiencing malnutrition while the remaining 13.8% as having good nutrition as much as 86.2%, and the index based on height for age (H/A) which had malnutrition as much as 46.2% while the rest had good nutrition as much as 53.8%, while the index by weight according to height (W/H) were experiencing malnutrition while the remaining 13.8% as having good nutrition as much as 86.2% . The results of the analysis obtained p count is 0.009 to the sample distribution based on W/A, and 0.010 for sample distribution based H/A, and 0.009 for the distribution of the sample by W/H. There is a relationship between the level of family income to the nutritional status of children in the working area Public Health Center Kalijambe.Keywords: Family Income, Nutritional Status of Children

ABSTRAKLatar Belakang : Keberadaan kader di posyandu sebagai salah satu sistem penyelenggarakan pelayanan sangat dibutuhkan. Mereka adalah ujung tombak  pelayanan kesehatan yang merupakan kepanjangtanganan puskesmas Jawa Tengah tahun 2011 jumlah gizi kurang 5,35% dan gizi buruk 0,10%. Untuk Kabupaten Semarang dari 23.562 balita yang ditimbang pada tahun 2011 gizi lebih 1,13%, gizi baik 93,51%, gizi kurang 4,86% dan gizi buruk 0,49% (DepKes Prov Jateng, 2011). Tujuan Penelitian : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan peran kader posyandu dengan status gizi balita. Metode Penelitian : Desain penelitian ini adalah survey analitik dengan menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh balita di Posyandu Mawar di Desa Gedangan sejumlah 40 responden, dengan teknik total sampling dan analisa data chi square. Hasil Penelitian : Hasil perhitungan chi square di peroleh X² hitung 10.644 pada df=4, P.value 0.031 dimana probabilitas lebih kecil dari level of significant 5 % (0,001 < 0,05) berarti Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. Background : Based on data from the Karimun District Health Office in 2017, there was 0.9% malnutrition, 4.8% malnutrition, and the prevalence of underweight children was 5.7%. Meanwhile, according to the Center for Data and Information, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia in 2017 the nutritional status of children under five to 59 months according to BW / U has 3.7% malnutrition, 14.0% malnutrition, 80.1% good nutrition and 2.1% over nutrition. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between maternal knowledge and parenting about the nutritional status of toddlers with the incidence of malnutrition in children under five in Baran Timur Village, Meral District, Karimun Regency. Method : This research used an analytical research design with a cross sectional design approach. Meral Karimun Regency. In this study, the population is all mothers who have toddlers aged 3-59 months who live in Baran Timur Village, Meral District, Karimun Regency as many as 460 people. The data is presented in the form of a cross table then the data is analyzed using the SPSS program (Social Science Program Statistics) through the chi-square statistical test using a significant level of 0.05 Result : from 82 respondents, it is found that 1 respondent (33.3%) with less parenting is malnutrition status, 1 respondent (33.3%) with poor parenting was malnourished and 1 respondent (33.3%) with insufficient parenting was good nutritional status. While 21 respondents (63.6%) with moderate parenting were good nutritional status and 41 respondents (89.1%) with good parenting were good nutritional status obtained a p value of 0.003

Background: Anemia is a condition characterized by reduction in thevolume of red blood cells and a decrease in the blood concentration of haemoglobin (less than 11gm/dl). Haemoglobin is a main part of red blood cells and binds oxygen. This can lead to range of adverse symptoms. The most common cause of anemia worldwide is an iron deficiency. This study attempted to estimate the prevalence of anemia among children 6 to 59 months of age in Gadaref State, and to determine the related factors, which include socio demographic factors and nutritional status of children. Patients and Methods: A total of 384 children 6 to 59 months of age wereincluded in this cross sectional (community based) study in Gadaref State. The data was collected by interviewing mothers through questionnaire, clinical examination, and blood examination. Data was analyzed by the computer using SPSS.version16. Chi-Square test was used for testing significance. P=0.05 or less was considered statistically significant. Results: Forty eight percent of children were anemic; there is a significantrelation between anemia and nutrition of children in this age. Malnutrition was related to anemia in the affected children; 35.1 % of anemic children had mild malnutrition, 23.8% and17.3% had moderate and severe malnutrition subsequently. Social factors related to anemia in children in Gadaref State are: family income, size of the family and mother education. Conclusion The prevalence of anemia in children 6 to 59 months of age InGadaref State is high. It is more frequent in the age group of 23 months to 59 months; females are affected more than males. There is an association between anemia and nutritional status of children.

ABSTRACT According to World Health Organization Health Organization (WHO) in 2005 showed 49% of deaths occur in children under five in developing countries. Nutritional problems can not be done with the medical and health care approach alone. Causes related to malnutrition that maternal education, socioeconomic families, poor environmental sanitation, and lack of food supplies. This study aims to determine the relationship between education and socioeconomic status of families with nutrition survey using a cross sectional analytic approach, with a population of all mothers of children under five who visited the health center in Palembang Keramasan Accidental sampling Sampling the number of samples obtained 35 respondents. Variables include the study independent and dependent variables and univariate analysis using Chi-Square test statistic with a significance level α = 0.05. The results from 35 respondents indicate that highly educated mothers earned as many as 16 people (45.7%), and middle and upper income families as many as 12 people (34.3%) and bivariate test results show that highly educated respondents toddler nutritional status good for 81.3% (13 people) is larger than the less educated respondents balitanya good nutritional status 26.3% (5 persons) as well as respondents who have middle and upper socioeconomic families with good nutritional status of children at 91.7% ( 11 people) is larger when compared to respondents who have family socioeconomic medium with good nutritional status of children at 30.4% (7 people). Statistical tests show that education has a significant relationship with nutritional status of children P value = 0.004 and socioeconomic families have a meaningful relationship with nutritional status of children P value = 0.002. Based on the results of the study suggested the health professionals in the health center should further improve the education, information about the importance of nutrition to the development of the child in the mothers through the selection and processing of good food and a good diet through health centers and integrated health.   ABSTRAK  Menurut badan kesehatan World Health Organization (WHO) tahun 2005 menunjukkan 49% kematian yang terjadi pada anak dibawah umur lima tahun di negara berkembang. Masalah gizi ini tidak dapat dilakukan dengan pendekatan medis dan pelayanan kesehatan saja. Penyebab yang berhubungan dengan kurang gizi yaitu pendidikan ibu, sosial ekonomi keluarga, sanitasi lingkungan yang kurang baik,dan kurangnya persediaan pangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pendidikan dan sosial ekonomi keluarga dengan status gizi balita dengan menggunakan metode survei analitik pendekatan secara Cross Sectional, dengan populasi semua ibu yang memiliki anak balita yang berkunjung ke Puskesmas Keramasan Palembang dengan pengambilan sampel secara Accidental Sampling diperoleh jumlah sampel 35 responden. Variabel penelitian meliputi variabel independen dan dependen serta analisis univariat menggunakan uji statistik Chi-Square dengan tingkat kemaknaan α = 0,05. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan dari 35 responden didapatkan ibu yang berpendidikan tinggi sebanyak 16 orang  (45,7%), dan keluarga yang berpenghasilan menengah keatas sebanyak 12 orang (34,3%) dan hasil uji bivariat menunjukkan bahwa responden yang berpendidikan tinggi status gizi balitanya baik sebesar 81,3% (13 orang) lebih besar bila dibanding responden yang berpendidikan rendah status gizi balitanya baik 26,3% (5 orang) serta responden yang mempunyai sosial ekonomi keluarga menengah keatas dengan status gizi balita baik sebesar 91,7% (11 orang) lebih besar bila dibanding responden yang mempunyai sosial ekonomi keluarga menengah kebawah dengan status gizi balita baik sebesar 30,4% (7 orang). Uji statistik menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan mempunyai hubungan yang bermakna dengan status gizi balita P value = 0,004 dan sosial ekonomi keluarga mempunyai hubungan yang bermakna dengan status gizi balita P value = 0,002. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disarankan pada petugas kesehatan di Puskesmas hendaknya lebih meningkatkan penyuluhan-penyuluhan tentang pentingnya gizi terhadap tumbuh kembang anak pada ibu-ibu melalui cara pemilihan dan pengolahan bahan makanan yang baik serta pola makanan yang baik melalui kegiatan Puskesmas dan Posyandu.

Background: Nutritional status is the best indicator of the child health. Malnutrition has both short and long term adverse ramifications. As per NFHS III 47% children are stunted in the state of Chhattisgarh. However still many communities in the tribal dominated and naxal affected state may remain affected, hence the study was planned to identify the nutritional status of children and find out its determinant.Methods: Present cross-sectional study was conducted among 12-59 months children in the urban slum of Jagdalpur city, Bastar region of Chhattisgarh. Predesigned and pretested questionnaire was administered to the caregiver of the child, information on socio-demographic characteristics was obtained and anthropometric measurements were taken. Statistical Analysis: all frequencies were derived for completeness of data. WHO Anthro Software version 3.1.0 was used to classify the malnutrition status. Chi-square test was applied to find association between dependent variables.Results: Out of 225 children 53.3% were boys and 46.7% were girls. The overall prevalence of underweight stunting and wasting was 28.4%, 41.3%, and 19.1% respectively.Conclusions: Prevalence of underweight has reduced in the district over a period of years. However high level of stunting, a sign of chronic hunger points towards the pivotal role of socio-demographic and behavioral practices prevalent in the district. Interaction with health system in the form of ANC, institutional delivery and safeguarding effective 100% immunization coverage has shown preventive effect.

Background: Toddler is an important period in child growth that will determine the future development. The accuracy of toddler feeding is affected by mother’s knowledge of nutrition, considering mother as the main food provider for family. Besides, nutrition intake of toddler could also affected nutritional status. Objectives: This study aimed to determine associated of mother’s nutrition knowledge and toddler’s nutrition intake with toddler’s nutritional status (WAZ) at the age 12-24 months. Methods: This study was an observational analytic research with cross-sectional design in Tambak Wedi Village, Kenjeran Sub District, Surabaya done in July 2017. The sample was 47 toddlers at the age of 12-24 months. The independent variables were mother’s characteristic (age, employment, education, family income), mother’s nutritional knowledge, and toddler’s nutrition intake (calories, carbohydrate, protein and fat). The dependent variable was toddler’s nutritional status. The data collected by interview used questionnaire such as 2x24 hours food recall for toddler’s intake nutrition, and weight measurement. Results: The result showed that most of respondents have good knowledge with normal nutritional status (81.8%) and respondents have less knowledge with unnormal nutritional status (92.9%). The result of chi square test showed that there was a relation between mother’s knowledge (p = 0.000), toddler’s calori (p = 0.008), carbohydrate (p = 0.024) and protein intake (p = 0.002). Meanwhile, there was no association between characteristic of motherand fat intake (p = 0.175) with nutritional status (WAZ). Conclusions: The conlusion of this study is toddler’s nutritional status influenced by mother’s knowledge about nutrition and toddler’s nutrition intake. Therefore, it is necessary to increase mother’s knowledge about nutrition through counseling and increase toddler’s nutrition intake (calories, carbohydrate and protein). ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Masa balita merupakan suatu periode penting dalam tumbuh kembang anak karena masa balita yang akan menentukan perkembangan anak di masa selanjutnya. Ketepatan pemberian makan pada balita dapat dipengaruhi oleh pengetahuan ibu tentang gizi karena ibu sebagai tombak dalam penyedia makanan untuk keluarga. Selain pengetahuan ibu tentang gizi, tingkat asupan makan balita juga dapat secara langsung mempengaruhi status gizi balita tersebut.Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui hubungan pengetahuan ibu tentang gizi dan asupan makan balita dengan status gizi balita (BB/U) usia 12-24 bulan.Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional analitik dengan desain cross-sectional dan dilakukan di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Tambak Wedi Kecamatan Kenjeran Kota Surabaya pada bulan Juli 2017. Sampel penelitian yaitu balita usia 12-24 bulan sebanyak 47 balita. Variabel independen yang diteliti adalah karakteristik ibu (usia, pekerjaan, pendidikan dan pendapatan keluarga), pengetahuan ibu tentang gizi, dan asupan makan balita (energi, karbohidrat, protein dan lemak). Variabel dependen yang diteliti adalah status gizi balita (BB/U). Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan metode wawancara dengan kuesioner recall 2x24 jam untuk mengetahui asupan makan balita dan pengukuran berat badan balita.Hasil: Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar ibu balita memiliki pengetahuan tentang gizi yang baik dengan status gizi balita normal (81,8%) dan yang memiliki pengetahuan kurang dengan status gizi balita tidak normal (92,9%). Hasil uji statistik chi square menunjukkan adanya hubungan antara pengetahuan ibu (p = 0,000), asupan energi (p = 0,008), asupan karbohidrat (p = 0,024) dan asupan protein balita (p = 0,002) dengan status gizi balita (BB/U). Namun, tidak terdapat hubungan antara karakteristik ibu dan asupan lemak balita (p = 0,175) dengan status gizi balita (BB/U).Kesimpulan: Status gizi balita dipengaruhi oleh pengetahuan ibu tentang gizi dan asupan makan balita (energi, karbohidrat dan protein). Oleh karena itu, diperlukan peningkatan pengetahuan ibu tentang gizi melalui penyuluhan dan peningkatan asupan makan balita (energi, karbohidrat dan protein).

Nutritional status is an important matter that needs to be paid attention during preschool. Malnutrition during this period will cause irreversible damage which cannot be recovered as an adult. The role of mothers in fulfilling the nutritional status of preschoolers is essential. Maternal perceptions influence the intentions and behavior of mothers in the nutritional needs of preschool children. This study aims to determine the effect of maternal perceptions on the development of children’s nutritional status at preschool age. This research was conducted at Slendro 1 Kindergarten, Slendro 2 Kindergarten, and Slendro Village PAUD Post, Gesi District, Sragen Regency (Central Java, Indonesia). The research used descriptive correlational design with cross-sectional approach. A total of 61 female student guardians who have preschool age children were used as samples. This study utilized two variables, namely maternal perception (support and barrier) as the independent variable and the nutritional status of preschool children as the dependent variable. The data were collected using a questionnaire and anthropometric measurements (BW/BH), then the data were analyzed using the Sperman Rho test (α ≤ 0.05). The results show that 59% of mothers had high perceptions and 41% of mothers had low perceptions of the nutritional status of preschool children. Statistical test results show that there is a significant relationship (ρ = 0.029) with a correlation coefficient (r = 0.280) between maternal perceptions and the nutritional status of children at preschool age. Perception has a huge influence on a mother’s intention in improving the nutritional status of a child. A positive maternal perception of the fulfillment of a child’s nutritional needs at preschool age can improve a child’s nutritional status.

The toddler period is a period that must be observed property, at this time the direction of child development will be determined for the next period. The purpose of this study was to study the immunization status of nutritional status in infants. The research design used was cross-sectional in the work area of Johar Baru Health Center, Jakarta Pusat, which was conducted from April–June 2019. The population of all children aged 6-59 months, while the study sample was infants with stunting of 105 respondents, which is data child nutrition in Health Center. Data processing and analysis using SPSS with Chi-Square statistical test, the confidence level of 95%. The results of variables related to the nutritional status of children under five are the relationship of immunization P value (0.004 OR and CI (0.173 (0.051-0.59). The conclusion of the variable related to the nutritional status of under-five children is immunization.

<p>Based on monitoring reports nutritional status of children in Lubuk Kilangan Puskesmas Padang in 2014, from 291 infants who weighed by BB / U, known malnutrition by 10 people (3.44%), malnutrition as many as 54 people (18.56%), and good nutrition as much as 222 (76.3%). The purpose of this study to see if Factors Associated with the Nutritional Status In Toddlers in Sub Bandar Buat Padang District of Lubuk Kilangan 2016.</p><p>Types and methods of this research is analytic survey with cross sectional design. The research was conducted in the village of Lubuk Kilangan Bandar Buat District of Padang in May 2016. The population is all the mothers who have children amounted to 755 people. Samples taken as many as 88 people with cluster random sampling techniques and sample used for the randomization Simple Random Sampling technique. Data collected by using a questionnaire. Processing of data by univariate and bivariate data analysis performed using Chi-Square test.</p><p>The results were obtained over the majority 51.1% children have malnutrition. Mothers who are knowledgeable low of 3.6%, which the family income &lt;1.615 million as much as 47.7%. Mothers who do not give exclusive breastfeeding much as 52.3%. Of test statistics in get a significant relationship between the nutritional status of children with a mother knowledge (p value 0.000), there was a significant relationship between the nutritional status of children with family incomes (p value 0.000), and no significant correlation between the nutritional status of children with exclusive breastfeeding ( p value 0.034).</p><p> It was concluded that there is a relationship between the nutritional status of children with the knowledge of the mother, family income and exclusive breastfeeding in Lubuk Kilangan Puskesmas Padang Year 2016. For the Lubuk Kilangan health center in order to do counseling at least 1 time a month on Nutrition in infants in order to improve knowledge of mothers on nutritional status.</p>
