ENGELSK ABSTRACT: Jeppe Fuglsang Larsen and Sune Qvotrup Jensen: Young Ethnic Minorities and ”Now-Danishness” – Camps, Identity Work and Double Consciousnesses This article is based on interviews with young ethnic minority persons in Denmark, who are members of a youth council that deals with issues concerning their situation. The article provides an introduction to the activities they undertake to counter some of the stereotypes about ethnic minorities prevalent in Denmark and to their efforts to introduce a new and more inclusive national frame of reference. The article argues that people such as this group of young ethnic minority persons can contribute to a breakdown of some of the ethnic boundaries existing in contemporary multicultural societies. Paul Gilroy’s theory on camps provides the article’s theoretical framework. Keywords: ethnic minority youths, ethnic boundaries, camps, identity work, double consciousness, now-Danishness.

This article presents the main features of the theoretical framework of French research known as recherches en didactique des mathématiques. The foundation of this approach consists mainly of the relationships between two hypotheses and two constraints, which are presented together with some specific key words. Outlines are given of Brousseau's théorie des situations didactiques (theory of didactical situations). An example is given that presents in some detail the rationale for the construction of a didactical situation and its analysis. This article ends with some questions addressed to research on mathematics teaching.

This paper investigates the possibility of translating, into English, Antara’s Fakhr (self-exaltation), as a prominent theme in his renowned Mu‘allaqa. The theoretical framework rests on the supposition that a literary work in general and pre-Islamic poetry in particular must be examined within its socio-cultural, spatio-temporal context as a total meaningful structure which entails the semantics and pragmatics of the text.
Examining this theme in three selected translations, the analysis shows that the source text has proved that Fakhr (self-exaltation), as a conventional constituent of Antara’s Mu‘allaqa, presents a remarkable degree of sophistication which poses serious translation challenges.
The discussion also reveals that, owing to the daunting complexity of incongruence and distance between the cultures of the two languages, the translations have only managed to maintain the textual import, but have not satisfactorily captured the socio-cultural denominations and implications, a perceptible translation erroneousness, which impeded straddling the required semantic effect and the required reader’s response in the target language version.
The paper draws the conclusion that the socio-cultural, spatio-temporal context can provide a broader frame of reference for analyzing, interpreting and translating the original Mu‘allaqa in a completely new, contemporary setting of transmission and reception.

We develop a theoretical framework explaining why and how business owning families (BOF) engage in impact investing. Despite its exponential growth, the burgeoning field impact investing is still subject to competing interpretations and varying practices. Building on the framework proposed by Nason et al. (2019b), we argue that a BOF’s frame of reference (backward vs. forward looking and internally vs. externally oriented) constitutes a relevant heterogeneity that triggers a unique driver for engaging in impact investing and a distinct set of practices to do so.

AbstractWe analyse the study and research carried out by N = 31 teachers in service during an on-line course in Didactics of Mathematics, about a question that could generate a Study and research path (SRP). The teachers studied the question individually and in groups. Then, they had to organize a possible teaching, adapted to an institution well known to them .The written texts produced by the teachers are analysed by means of two types of techniques: one qualitative and one based on lexicometric statistical methods. In the long term, the aim of this research is to understand the potential and difficulties of in-service teachers to organize teaching based on questions.

In the paper, we present a study devoted to the utilization of multiple-solution tasks (MSTs) in combinatorics as a part of a pre-service teachers course on didactics of mathematics from the view of the mathematics teachers’ specialized knowledge (MTSK) theoretical framework. The study was carried out over the standard course of a summer semester in 2021. The course was attended by 13 pre-service teachers (PSTs). It was carried out online, due to COVID-19 restrictions. Ten combinatorial multiple-solution tasks were assigned to the PSTs. Analyzing pre-service teachers solutions to these tasks, we sought the description and better understanding of the combinatorial knowledge of the topic from the perspective of MSTK. The results revealed some critical aspects of mathematical knowledge in combinatorics that pre-service teachers education should focus on.

Mots-clés : Théorie Anthropologique du didactique, Panorama des recherches boréliennesAbstractThe work presented here represents a cut of a doctoral research in development and aims to show a panorama of the Brazilian research at the doctoral level, which has contributed from the emerging theoretical constructs of the Didactic Anthropological Theory - TAD to reveal and understand the mathematical practices in the context of the study. The thematic has an imperative relevance for the scientific community that considers the Didactics of Mathematics as a scientific field that allows to reveal phenomena of teaching and mathematical learning. This study was developed following the state-of-the-art methodology. We asked ourselves about how to reveal the development and use of TAD in research in Brazil, and in particular in doctoral research? What are the conditions and restrictions that control the development and use of TAD in research in Brazil? Thus, the results indicate, in addition to a growth in the use of TAD, that one of the main educational problems of our time is that of generalization, which prevents the researcher from situating his thought and his action in a dialectic média / milieu of his statements and decisions. Keywords: Anthropological theory of didactics, Panorama of Brazilian research.

Abstract Gilead et al. state that abstraction supports mental travel, and that mental travel critically relies on abstraction. I propose an important addition to this theoretical framework, namely that mental travel might also support abstraction. Specifically, I argue that spontaneous mental travel (mind wandering), much like data augmentation in machine learning, provides variability in mental content and context necessary for abstraction.

Electron microscopy of replicating intermediates has been quite useful in understanding the mechanism of DNA replication in DNA molecules of bacteriophage, mitochondria and plasmids. The use of partial denaturation mapping has made the tool more powerful by providing a frame of reference by which the position of the replicating forks in bacteriophage DNA can be determined on the circular replicating molecules. This provided an easy means to find the origin and direction of replication in λ and P2 phage DNA molecules. DNA of temperate E. coli phage 186 was found to have an unique denaturation map and encouraged us to look into its mode of replication.
