The present article focuses on the impact that COVID-19 has on teaching and school classroom management that affect the whole school management as well. As the teaching circumstances are compulsory and dramatically changing and as face-to-face teaching is altering into distance teaching (e-teaching), the teaching features are deeply modified either it takes place in home or in school environment harming communication quality due to physical presence deprivation. Within this framework, present chapter aims at the presentation of teaching procedure developmental progress under the light of a historical overview upon this subject. Also, it aims at the presentation of distance learning as a modern teaching form which has intruded in traditional education reality by the emerged necessity related to entire population's protection against COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, as it seems by the evolution of the facts, COVID-19 pandemic was simply speeding the introduction of distance learning into educational system which, more or less, was constituted a central choice for many states and governments. Furthermore, in this chapter a discussion takes place related to teachers’, students’; and parents’ reactions about the implementation of distant teaching. This discussion claims that the initial interest for distant teaching, had within few months converted into a boring and undesirable reality from which most involved persons wanted to be released as soon as possible. The chapter is completed with a reference to the purpose of educational community members and all educators in achieving their return into school's normality, namely in procedures and situations that were existed before COVID-19's pandemic advent.

<p>Open and distance learning (ODL) has created room for the emergence of virtual education. Not only are students found everywhere and anywhere undertaking their studies and earning their degrees, but geographical boundaries between nations no longer appear to have much relevance. As the new education paradigm irretrievably alters the way teaching and learning is conducted, the application of modern educational ICTs has a major role to play.</p><p>With students of transnational or cross-border education dispersed into various nooks and crannies of Botswana, many others enlist for the “home-baked” distance learning programmes from their diverse locations. Like the face-to-face conventional students, distance learners also have information needs which have to be met. But blocking the distance learners’ realization of their information needs is the digital divide, which further marginalizes the underclass of “info-poor.”</p><p>The survey method was used, and a questionnaire administered to 519 students of four tertiary level distance teaching institutions that met the criteria set for the study yielded a 70.1% response rate. The results showed that while the Government of Botswana has made considerable effort to ensure country-wide access to ICT, which now constitutes an effective instrument for meeting information needs, a number of problems still exist. The factors impeding easy access are unearthed. The findings of an empirical study portraying some learners as information-rich and others, information-poor, and the consequence of distance learners studying on both sides of the digital divide, are discussed. Suggestions on bridging the digital divide are offered.</p>

Teacher autonomy is essential for their professional competence. Unless they are accountable at their profession, there will not be any positive output in the domain of teaching and learning.  The main objectives of this study were to explore the teachers' perceptions on the impact of teacher autonomy in enhancing their professional competences, to identify how far the level of teacher autonomy affects the professional competences of the teachers, and to investigate the existing practices of teacher autonomy at Tribhuvan University. The phenomenological research design was adopted to accomplish this study. Ten English teachers at least 2 from each of 5constituent colleges of Tribhuvan University were selected as a sample using purposive non-random sampling procedure to collect data. Semi-structured in-depth interview and classroom observations were administered as tools to elicit data to address the objectives of this study. The findings were obsolete of teaching and learning activities and classroom management due to the lack of online digital books and articles in the library, lack of blended between online Moodle and face to face mode of pedagogy, lack of technological pedagogical and content knowledge, no teacher autonomy in curriculum designing, and no grants for travelling and lack of daily allowances to teachers to attend the conference, seminar, and workshop at home and abroad.

The application of technology in education is being developed very intensively today, especially the use of technology to support the teaching and learning process. The transfer of conventional learning methods such as face-to-face in the classroom towards a modern direction such as distance learning using computer-based systems or smartphones (Mobile Learning) has become a common thing implemented in today's education world. But not all educational institutions implement the same thing as MI Taufiqul Athfal Bogor. The purpose of this study was to design and implement a distance learning system based on android with smartphone media (Mobile Learning) to help MI Taufiqul Athfal Bogor in the teaching and learning process. The research method used is the Research & Development (R&D) method. System testing was carried out using the ISO 9126 method by distributing questionnaires to 20 respondents who were teachers at MI Taufiqul Athfal. The test results with four aspects of ISO 9126, namely aspects of Fuctionality, Reliability, Usability, and Efficiency produce an overall Actual Total score, namely Total% Actual of 90%, thus concluding that the quality of the system is Very Good to implement. The final result of this research is an Andiroid-based Mobile Learning system designed by researchers which is implemented very well at MI Taufiqul Athfal and helps support the distance teaching and learning process.

Higher education has to develop effective means of pedagogical communication and teaching patterns as a result of the social and economic changes brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. Distance learning requires no face-to-face contact with the teacher. It is based on unconventional teaching patterns and uses modern means of informatization. The research objective was to develop a new system of didactic support in the context of a total distance learning format. The author analyzed the opinions of academics and students of two institutions of higher education. The research revealed some problems related to the use of traditional teaching methods in distance learning. The article introduces a new complex approach to the design of effective didactic support based on the psychological, pedagogical, and methodological features of distance learning. The paper also features various definitions of didactic support, its stages, and component, i.e. content, procedure, and motivation. The new approach was tested experimentally. It involved a rating system, which improved the motivational, emotional, and cognitive aspects of distance learning. A higher degree of formalization of information content also improved such indicators as universality, adaptability, multivariance, and multifunctionality.

Due to the recent development of delivery and communication technology and the success of distance learning, educational organizations are starting to use distance teaching to reach students so that they can learn anytime and from anywhere (Daniel, 1997). At the same time, businesses and organizations are increasingly using distance learning technology to bring the training to employees rather than send the employees for training. As a result, faculty and trainers are required to make the transition from classroom face-to-face teaching to distance teaching. One of the drawbacks in making the transition to distance delivery is faculty and trainers may not be prepared to function in the new role which is a major challenge for administrators (Agee, Holisky & Muir, 2003). Also, distance teaching is seen as an add-on for faculty in dual mode institutions (Wolcott, 2003), and resources are not available to prepare staff to work in the distance learning setting. At the same time, the commitment to distance learning from senior officials tend not to be as strong when compared to traditional delivery especially in dual mode institutions where there are both face-to-face delivery and distance delivery, and faculty have to teach both classroom delivery and distance delivery (Betts, 1998; Hislop & Atwood, 2000). Hence, it is important that administrators support distance delivery for it to be successful. According to Betts (1998), administrators who show interest in distance learning and who have experience in distance learning will influence faculty to use distance learning methods.

Distance education particularly the IT based distance learning is a fast growing concept in the academic world. The employees working in such distance learning institutions have certain issues that need to be investigated. One important such issue the job satisfaction of employees. Job satisfaction of employees can be investigated through several variables. Job satisfaction is equally important in all the organizations including the face to face and distance learning organizations. Distance learning organizations differ from face to face as the supervisor and the employees happen to be seated hundreds of miles away from each other. They do not even have a facial know how or interaction with each other. This distance create certain differences in the culture and the facial anonymity also has an impact on the supervisor support and other issues as well. This study intended to analyze the impact of organizational culture, organizational communication and supervisor support on the job satisfaction of the employees working in the IT based distance learning institutions of Pakistan. These variables are so selected because the employees working in such organizations happen to be seated away from supervisor and one another as well. A survey was conducted for this purpose in which data was collected through online questionnaire and data processed through regression analysis. Findings of the study revealed that all the three variables including organizational culture, organizational communication and supervisor support has a positive impact on the job satisfaction of employees working in the IT based distance learning organizations.

Despite that the system of higher education has been greatly affecting during the crisis of COVID-19, the Higher Education institutions forced to adapt to the new situation quickly and change the models of education from traditional system to distance learning system because of the increasing of student enrollments. Although there are different systems of Distance Learning which helps students get their education, still doubts of achieving the planed learning outcomes. The aim of this paper is to try understand the most requirements needed to build a good distance learning system, and to know the impact of distance learning requirements in achieving learning outcomes during COVID-19 at the private Jordanian universities. The results revealed that the Jordanian Private Universities operating at Amman are aware of the importance of distance learning requirements (The Human Resources, the Infrastructure, the Academic, the Financial, and the Managerial). And the learning outcomes (the knowledge, skills and competencies) were achieved by using distance learning as a substitute of face to face education. For this purposes a purposive sample was selected consisted of (11) Universities that are operating at AmmanGovernorate, and the sampling unit was consisted of those who occupied the positions of dean and head of academic department in the (11) universities, and their number reached (235). The most important recommendation of this paper is to strengthen the human resources, the infrastructure and the academic requirements, and to get attention more to the financial and the managerial requirements on achieving leaning outcomes.

Web-based lecture technologies (WBLT) have gained popularity amongst universities in Australia as a tool for delivering lecture recordings to students in close to real time. This paper reports on a selection of results from a larger research project investigating the impact of WBLT on teaching and learning. Results show that while staff see the advantages for external students, they question the extent to which these advantages apply to internal students. In contrast both cohorts of students were positive about the benefits of the technologies for their learning and they adopted similar strategies for their use. With the help of other technologies, some external students and staff even found WBLT useful for fostering communication between internal and external students. ABSTRACT ObjectivesThe presentation will Increase awareness of a range of methods that researchers can use to involve patients and the public (consumers and community members) in linked data research. Promote shared learning of how these methods have been successfully implemented Provide insights from researchers, consumers and community members about their experiences of using these methods ApproachThe University of Western Australia School of Population Health and Telethon Kids Institute established a Consumer and Community Involvement Program (the Program) in 1998 in response to community concerns about linked data research. Since its inception, the Program has developed a range of strategies, systems and methods to successfully involve consumers and community members in a variety of research projects. These include projects ranging from student and individual projects to large multi-million dollar programs of research. A key role of the Program has been to increase skills and capacity for researchers at both organisations. In order to do this a series of training workshops were developed in collaboration with a UK consumer advocate. The training workshops cover the foundations and principles, as well as guidance on the implementation of consumer and community involvement in research. In 2015 - 2016, an online training course was developed to support the needs of researchers using linked data, who were unable to access face-to-face training and to maximise the focus of face to face training on the implementation of consumer involvement. As part of the development of the online training course a series of interviews were recorded with researchers, consumers and community sharing their experiences of consumer and community involvement. ResultsA wealth of material was collected during the interviews that will be used to enable researchers to learn from their peers conducting linked data research: Researchers experiences of involving consumers and community members in their linked data research  The benefits of involving consumers and community members in research and tips for how to do this Consumers and community members experiences of being involved in linked data research Consumer and community involvement in a range of topics including: child protection and health, cardiology and health services research Researchers experiences of involvement throughout the research process The impact of consumer and community involvement on the research ConclusionThis presentation will promote shared learning of good practice models of consumer and community involvement to the international linked data research community.
