The paper extends the known solution of the Main Problem to include the effects of the higher spherical harmonics of the geopotential. The von Zeipel method is used to calculate the secular variations of orderJmand the long-periodic variations of ordersJm/J2andnJm,λ/ω. HereJmandJm,λare the coefficients of the zonal and the tesseral harmonics respectively, withJm,0=Jm, andωis the angular velocity of the Earth's rotation. With the aid of the theory of spherical harmonics the results are expressed in a most compact form.

AbstractIn this research article, the modified approximation to the centrifugal barrier term is applied to solve an approximate bound state solutions of Dirac equation for spin and pseudospin symmetries with hyperbolic Hulthen plus hyperbolic exponential inversely quadratic potential using parametric Nikiforov–Uvarov method. The energy eigen equation and the unnormalised wave function were presented in closed and compact form. The nonrelativistic energy equation was obtain by applying nonrelativistic limit to the relativistic spin energy eigen equation. Numerical bound state energies were obtained for both the spin symmetry, pseudospin symmetry and the non relativistic energy. The screen parameter in the potential affects the solutions of the spin symmetry and non-relativistic energy in the same manner but in a revised form for the pseudospin symmetry energy equation. In order to ascertain the accuracy of the work, the numerical results obtained was compared to research work of existing literature and the results were found to be in excellent agreement to the existing literature. The partition function and other thermodynamic properties were obtained using the compact form of the nonrelativistic energy equation. The proposed potential model reduces to Hulthen and exponential inversely quadratic potential as special cases. All numerical computations were carried out using Maple 10.0 version and Matlab 9.0 version softwares respectively.

Cities are growing higher and denser, and understanding and constructing the compact city form is of great importance to optimize sustainable urbanization. The two-dimensional (2D) urban compact form has been widely studied by previous researchers, while the driving mechanism of three-dimensional (3D) compact morphology, which reflects the reality of the urban environment has seldom been developed. In this study, land surface temperature (LST) was retrieved by using the mono-window algorithm method based on Landsat 8 images of Xiamen in South China, which were acquired respectively on 14 April, 15 August, 2 October, and 21 December in 2017, and 11 March in 2018. We then aimed to explore the driving mechanism of the 3D compact form on the urban heat environment (UHE) based on our developed 3D Compactness Index (VCI) and remote sensing, as well as Geo-Detector techniques. The results show that the 3D compact form can positively effect UHE better than individual urban form construction elements, as can the combination of the 2D compact form with building height. Individually, building density had a greater effect on UHE than that of building height. At the same time, an integration of building density and height showed an enhanced inter-effect on UHE. Moreover, we explore the temporal and spatial UHE heterogeneity with regards to 3D compact form across different seasons. We also investigate the UHE impacts discrepancy caused by different 3D compactness categories. This shows that increasing the 3D compactness of an urban community from 0.016 to 0.323 would increase the heat accumulation, which was, in terms of satellite derived LST, by 1.35 °C, suggesting that higher compact forms strengthen UHE. This study highlights the challenge of the urban 3D compact form in respect of its UHE impact. The related evaluation in this study would help shed light on urban form optimization.

Abstract The screw algebra is used to efficiently derive expressions in compact form for both the angular accelerations of the moving links and the linear accelerations of points on the links of platform-type manipulators. The analysis employs the property that the acceleration state of the manipulator platform can be determined by considering the acceleration states of the links of only one — any one — of the manipulator legs. The obtained expressions provide an ease in symbolic and algebraic manipulation. The analysis is then extended to specify the acceleration center point of ithe nstantaneous motion of the manipulator platform. The acceleration center point is then used in expressing the distribution of the acceleration field of the platform instant motion which is important in manipulator synthesis. The special case of planar manipulators is studied and simpler expressions are derived. Numerical examples are presented for the analysis of a 3-DOF planar platform-type and of a 6-DOF spatial “Stewart Platform” manipulators to illustrate the analysis procedure.

Maqāṣid al-Qur’ān is an emerging science that promotes an understanding of the Qur’anic discourse’s purposive (maqasidic) angle. Beginning with preliminary ideas in the fifth Islamic century, it has now achieved the status, in the eyes of many prominent contemporary Muslims, of being a specific science. Having been the subject of scholarly discussion in articles, books, television programs, seminars and conferences, this subject has created a new academic debate in the very contemporary field of Qur’anic studies. This study explores its genesis and conceptual developments over time by analyzing the root of this science as well as how it has fared at the hands of early and modern scholarship of the Qur’an. Its findings are expected to contribute to presenting this field to the public in a compact form.

The Modern Syllogistic Method (MSM) of propositional logic ferrets out from a set of premisesallthat can be concluded from it in the most compact form. The MSM combines the premises into a single function equated to 1 and then produces the complete product of this function. Two fuzzy versions of MSM are developed in Ordinary Fuzzy Logic (OFL) and in Intuitionistic Fuzzy Logic (IFL) with these logics augmented by the concept of Realistic Fuzzy Tautology (RFT) which is a variable whose truth exceeds 0.5. The paper formally proves each of the steps needed in the conversion of the ordinary MSM into a fuzzy one. The proofs rely mainly on the successful replacement of logic 1 (or ordinary tautology) by an RFT. An improved version of Blake-Tison algorithm for generating the complete product of a logical function is also presented and shown to be applicable to both crisp and fuzzy versions of the MSM. The fuzzy MSM methodology is illustrated by three specific examples, which delineate differences with the crisp MSM, address the question of validity values of consequences, tackle the problem of inconsistency when it arises, and demonstrate the utility of the concept of Realistic Fuzzy Tautology.

The literature knowledge panels developed and implemented in PubChem are described. These help to uncover and summarize important relationships between chemicals, genes, proteins, and diseases by analyzing co-occurrences of terms in biomedical literature abstracts. Named entities in PubMed records are matched with chemical names in PubChem, disease names in Medical Subject Headings (MeSH), and gene/protein names in popular gene/protein information resources, and the most closely related entities are identified using statistical analysis and relevance-based sampling. Knowledge panels for the co-occurrence of chemical, disease, and gene/protein entities are included in PubChem Compound, Protein, and Gene pages, summarizing these in a compact form. Statistical methods for removing redundancy and estimating relevance scores are discussed, along with benefits and pitfalls of relying on automated (i.e., not human-curated) methods operating on data from multiple heterogeneous sources.

The identity of the mechanical properties of ductile iron (QP) and cast iron with compact forms of graphite, in particular, with nodular and vermicular graphite (CSWG). Given the fundamental differences in techniques of obtaining QP and CSUG in terms of their labor, material and energy intensity at virtually the identical strength properties shown to be technically and economically preferable for the manufacture of castings of CSWG and other cast iron with a compact form of graphite.
