The development of information technology has spawned the innovation of learning technology, one of which is the application of E-learning that develops along the paradigm of learning changes. Implementation of E-learning in addition to providing benefits are also still faced with various problems that become challenges in the application of E-learning resulting in a variety of perceptions that develop in society. This article aims to describe the opportunities, challenges, and implementation of E-learning in Indonesia. This paper is a literature review by using relevant sources related to theoretical and empirical reviews of E-learning challenges, opportunities, and implementation. Sources of theoretical reviews use books, other documents on E-learning, while for empirical reviews using research results published in scientific journals.

Background: 4.0 industrial revolution raises new challenges for nurses to stay up to date on science knowledge by utilizing information technology advances. This is because science is the basis of nurses in making the best nursing care for patients. Methods: Literature review of 25 journals from Science Direct, PROQUEST, Scopus, and Scholar Article in 2014 to 2018. Results: Some results of the study show that the use of e-learning in providing education of nurses can increase knowledge to nurses' caring behavior in providing nursing care, and one of the e-learning devices in the hospital is a webinar. Conclusion: E-learning provides opportunities for nurses to gain knowledge through the use of electronic systems. One of the e-learning devices in the hospital that can be used as a reference when nurses want to study is webinar. Not only nurses who work at the hospital who can get benefits from webinar, but so do nurses in other health services. Although facilities and infrastructure are inadequate in an HR hospital, but nurses can intelligently use webinar as a source to gain knowledge.

This study examines the development of information technology that focuses on the use of web based learning as a learning medium in the world of vocational education. Web-based learning provides convenience for students in learning activities such as increasing productivity, flexible and interactive. The results obtained from several literature studies from journal articles, opinion papers, conceptual papers, etc. were analyzed for content related to the use of web based learning in the world of vocational education. The result of the literature review in this paper is that E-learning is a learning process that is poured through internet technology, with the principle of simple, personal, and fast need to be considered. Therefore, the principles and communication of learning need to be designed like conventional learning. The need for developing the right e-learning learning model according to needs. Web base learning is a learning model that requires technological tools, especially information technology such as computers and internet access. In practice, web base learning utilizes internet facilities as a medium for delivering information (material) learning such as websites, e-mail, mailing lists, and news groups. The planned use of web-based learning technology has proven to provide a significant contribution to the world of education, especially for vocational education that requires students to think critically. In implementing web based learning, there are several factors that need to be considered such as supporting facilities and infrastructure, users (students as users and teachers/lecturers/experts as material presenter), readiness of online materials and costs.

The first Coronavirus Disease-2019 (COVID-19) outbreak appeared in Wuhan, China on December 01, 2019 and was declared a pandemic by WHO (world health organization) on March 11, 2020[1]. This condition requires all levels of society to stay at home (WFH), worship, work and study all at home. So that educational institutions are also required to follow government regulations and innovate learning processes that must continue when natural disasters or global pandemics occur through online learning with the aim of improving the quality of learning. Darmajaya Institute of Informatics and Business uses information technology in the form of online learning media called E-Learning for students and lecturers. This of course makes students and lecturers have to adapt in using the information technology. This E-Learning technology is used intensely by students and lecturers (both permanent and external lecturers) of IIB Darmajaya, so that in conditions in the field there are many shortcomings in the E-Learning service at IIB Darmajaya. One way to measure the governance and capability level of E-Learning services at IIB Darmajaya is to conduct a governance audit on the E-Learning services. In this study, a governance framework is needed in the form of Control Objective for Information and Related Technology 5 (COBIT 5.0) which can provide benefits for an agency in achieving strategic goals and optimizing services from information technology. Keywords—Audit Tata Kelola, E-Learning, COBIT 5.0, Maturity Level, Capability Level.

Some institutions of higher education in Kenya have adopted e‑Learning with the aim of coping with the increased demand for university education and to widen access to university training and education. Though there are advantages that accrue from adopting e‑Learning; its implementation and provision has not been smooth sailing. It has had to contend with certain national, organisational, technical and social challenges that undermine its successful implementation. This paper therefore aims to present a literature review of the challenges faced in the implementation and provision of e‑Learning in universities in Kenya. The scoping review method was used to identify and analyze the literature of the e‑Learning challenges. Some of the challenges revealed include: lack of adequate e‑Learning policies, inadequate Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure, the ever evolving technologies, lack of technical and pedagogical competencies and training for e‑tutors and e‑learners, lack of an e‑Learning theory to underpin the e‑Learning practice, budgetary constraints and sustainability issues, negative perceptions towards e‑Learning, quality issues, domination of e‑Learning aims by technology and market forces and lack of collaboration among the e‑Learning participants. These challenges need to be addressed to minimise their impact on implementation and delivery of e‑Learning initiatives in institutions of higher education in Kenya. This analysis of the e‑Learning challenges forms the basis for the ongoing research that seeks to explore and establish possible strategies to address some of these challenges.

The article is devoted to the implementation of gamification methods in the educational process. The characteristic features of light and hard gamification are presented. The appropriateness of using gamification when applying e-learning technology is considered. Classification of courses based on hard gamification taking into account the technological features of development is proposed: courses-presentations, courses — computer games, VR/AR courses. The article also illustrates the use of various game elements of easy gamification using the example of the module “Level up! — Gamification” of the Moodle LMS. The capabilities of this module can be used in an electronic course by any teacher who has the skills of working with the Moodle. The authors present the analysis of the development of a training course in sales techniques using hard and light gamification technologies, where the course development was assessed for its complexity, manufacturability, and resource requirements. The results of the analysis showed that the development of courses using hard gamification requires much more financial and time-consuming than the development of courses using light gamification. The article evaluates the results of the educational intensiveness intense “Island 10–22”, held in July 2019 in Skolkovo, in which 100 university teams, teams of research and educational centers, teams of schoolchildren — winners of competitions, olympiads, hackathons (“Young Talents”) participated. The results of the intense confirmed the effectiveness of the use of light gamification methods in adult training. Thus, the conclusions presented in the article reveal a number of advantages that light gamification has in comparison with hard gamification.

The industry define the needs for Information Technology competence and expect Education Institution as one of IT resource work hard to design their program study to fulfill the needs for Information Technology graduates, yet the industry still struggle to succeed in hiring fresh graduate to fill the IT position. Information Technology Training Institution can be an alternative to improve the education result. Also certification on Information Technology competence from third party or independent body might be used as a standard for both Industry and Education. This paper will report literature review several previous paper about all of the above.

The paper focuses on the need of E-Reading and integration of E-Reading into the classrooms with Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES).Computer has the potential to become the amazing teaching tool. Besides the written text the technical way of learning has quality, rhythm, tenor and pitch. These parameters vary as per the moods of the teacher in the traditional classrooms. But in the e-learning there is no mood swings to the inanimate objects like video or audio. So, it is the teachers’ ingenuity to select the suitable e-content to the students and make use of the instruments to the fullest extent for the benefit of the students. The ultimate goal of the teacher is to make the learners as independent readers.
