Distance Education (PJJ) as a learning solution during the COVID-19 pandemic at the University of Lampung has not been implemented optimally. The purpose of this study was to find out the circumstances and needs of prospective physics teacher students while carrying out PJJ online from their respective homes. As well as analyzing the materials and assignments to achieve the Subject Learning Outcomes (CPMK) of Educational Research Statistics. This study uses a descriptive analysis method with a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire distributed online with the help of a google form. The sample in this study was 53 students of physics teacher candidates in the Physics Education Study Program, University of Lampung. The results of this study indicate that the condition of students in implementing PJJ is that they already have adequate facilities both from electricity infrastructure, internet networks, devices, and getting support from family. However, students find it difficult to understand practical learning when using media and learning methods that are not varied. The analysis of materials and tasks developed from CPMK Educational Research Statistics consists of three main materials with ten learning videos, and each student is asked to complete matters an educational research case using SPSS. Based on the results of this needs analysis, lecturers need to develop a teaching material, namely an e-module containing learning videos that can facilitate prospective physics teacher students in implementing PJJ.

ANALISIS MOTIVASI INTRINSIK DAN EKSTRINSIK MAHASISWA CALON GURU FISIKAAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis motivasi belajar, meliputi motivasi intrinsik dan motivasi ekstrinsik mahasiswa calon guru fisika. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan wawancara dan angket yang sudah tervalidasi dan reliabel yaitu Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire. Sampel penelitian adalah 150 mahasiswa yang tersebar dari semester dua, empat, dan semester enam Program Studi Pendidikan Fisika FKIP Universitas Jember, dengan Indeks Prestasi (IP) rata-rata 3,12 (SD=0,285). Data yang sudah diperoleh kemudian diolah dengan menggunakan SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi belajar mahasiswa pendidikan fisika sangat bervariasi dan didominasi oleh motivasi belajar instrinsik dibandingkan motivasi ekstrinsik. Pada motivasi instrinsik kebutuhan akan prestasi yang dimiliki mahasiswa pendidikan fisika lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kriteria motivasi intrinsik lain. Pada motivasi ekstrinsik peran otoritas dari orang tua dan dosen merupakan faktor yang mendominasi motivasi ekstrinsik belajar mahasiswa. Dominannya motivasi instrinsik ini menunjukkan adanya kesadaran dari diri mahasiswa mengenai pentingnya belajar.Kata Kunci: motivasi intrinsik, motivasi ekstrinsik, mahasiswa calon guru fisikaAbstractThis study was aimed at analyzing the intrinsic and extrinsic learning motivation of physics- teacher student candidates. The study used the quantitative method. The data were collected using interviews and a questionnaire that had been validated and wasreliable, namely Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ). The research sample consisted of 150 college students of Physics Education Study Program of University of Jember of semesters two, four, and six with a grade point average (GPA) of 3.12 (SD = 0.285). The data were analyzed quantitatively. The results show that intrinsic motivation is more dominant than extrinsic motivation in the learning processes of physics teacher candidates. In intrinsic motivation, the need for achievement of physics education students is higher than that of others intrinsic motivation criteria. In extrinsic motivation, the role of parents and lecturers is a factor that dominates the learning processes. The dominance of this intrinsic motivation indicates the awareness of the students toward the importance of learning.Keywords: intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation, physics teacher candidate

The purpose of this study was to describe the validity of the metacognition ability instruments which include metacognition knowledge and metacognition awareness. The metacognition knowledge instrument in the form of essay tests totaling 20 items, while the metacognition awareness instrument is the Metacognition Awareness Inventory (MAI). This study is a descriptive qualitative study to assess and obtain the quality of metacognition knowledge and metacognition awareness instruments that are valid to characterize student metacognition abilities. The instrument of student metacognition knowledge was validated by two physics educations’ experts, the instrument of metacognition knowledge was also empirically validated by involving 30 physics education students as respondents. Unlike the instrument of metacognition knowledge, the metacognition awareness instrument is only empirically validated by involving 90 students across the study program as respondents. The results showed: (1) the validator's assessment of the metacognition knowledge instrument both from the content validity aspect and construct validity was valid categorized (range of scores> 3.6) and reliable for the two components of assessment in a row namely Percentage of agreement = 97.3% and 98.6%, (2) the empirical validity of the metacognition knowledge instrument was declared valid (Pearson Correlation > rtable) and reliable (Cronbach's alpha = 0.944), (3) the instrument of metacognition awareness was declared reliable (0.6 ≤ α ≤ 1.0) although some components of the student metacognition awareness instrument are empirically declared invalid. These results indicate that the instrument of metacognition ability is valid to use in characterizing the prospective physics teacher students’ metacognition ability.

The purpose of this research is describe the reflective thinking profile of pre-service physics teacher students in Earth physics lectures about Ocean climate. This research was conducted in the physics education study program in one of the Higher Education Institutions in NTB Province, with a total of 25 respondents who had taken the Earth Physics course. The technique used in data collection is the analysis of the physics course syllabus and two essay tests about climate material that integrated with indicators of reflective thinking ability from Dewey's framework. Based on the analysis of the syllabus, it was found that the syllabus applied to the subject of earth physics had not been oriented to the provision of certain skills including reflective thinking skills. In addition, based on data analysis that the average value for question 1 is 18.75 and question number 2 is 16.75 where the maximum average score is on the understanding aspect of 31 for question number 1 while the minimum average score on critical reflection aspect is 7. It means that pre-service physics teacher students have very low reflective thinking abilities in Earth Physics lectures on ocean climate.Keywords: Reflective thinking skills, Earth Physics Syllabus, Earth Physics Lecture

Education nowadays is demanded to produce students who have beneficial skills of the 21st century in dealing with problems in the era of information and digital technology. Therefore, it is necessary to change the emphasis of learning patterns. In this paper, the results of the application of 21st-century skills in learning Basic Physics 1 in the Physics Education Study Program, UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung using a scientific approach is presented. Learning activities were conducted based on low budget materials and ICT in the form of tracker software. The results showed that students were skilled in using tracker (90%), had science processing skills (excellent 5.2%, good 74.0%, and fair 20.8%), and fostered curiosity (92.0% ), careful attitude (92.2%), caring for the environment (73.0%), honest (93.0%), and cooperative (97.0%).

This study aims to determine learning outcomes and the scientific attitudes of students at physics education study programs using virtual lab. This type of research is quantitative research. It uses descriptive statistical analysis and inferential stattistics to illustrate data learning outcomes and the scientific attitudes of students at physics education study Universitas Flores using the virtual lab. Data collection techniques used in this study were test for learning outcomes and observatory techniques for the scientific attitude. From the results of descriptive analysis for learning outcomes, it shows that the average is 75,05 in the enough category. The results of inferential statistics show t count is 2,770, sig(2-tailed) 0,011. Because the sig(2-tailed) value of 0,011 is smaller than 0,05, thus it can be concluded that use of the virtual lab influences the learning outcomes. For the scientific attitudes it shows that the average is 76,14 in the enough category. The results of inferential statistics show t count is 3,875, sig(2-tailed) 0,001. Because the sig(2-tailed) value of 0,001 is smaller than 0,05, thus it can be concluded that use of the virtual lab influences the scientific attitudes of students at physics education study Universitas Flores.Keywords: Virtual Lab, Learning Outcomes, Scientific AttitudePenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar dan sikap ilmiah mahasiswa program studi pendidikan fisika Universitas Flores dengan menggunakan virtual laboratorium. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah instrumen tes untuk mengukur hasil belajar serta lembar observasi untuk mengukur sikap ilmiah mahasiswa program studi pendidikan fisika. Dari hasil analisis deskriptif untuk hasil belajar menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata hasil belajar mahasiswa adalah 75,05 dalam kategori cukup, sedangkan hasil statistik inferensial menunjukkan nilai t hitung 2,770, sig(2-tailed) 0,011. Karena nilai sig(2-tailed) 0,011 lebih kecil dari 0,05 hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan virtual laboratorium berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar fisika mahasiswa program studi pendidikan fisika Universitas Flores. This study aims to identify the misconceptions of a prospective chemistry teacher. The study population was all students of the Chemistry Study Program at the University of Riau, while the sample was 66 students at the Chemistry Study Program at the University of Riau, selected by cluster random sampling technique. Conception data of chemistry teacher candidates on acid-base subjects have been identified and obtained by providing valid acid-base TTT diagnostic tests to chemistry teachers candidates. The result of this research showed that chemistry teacher candidate who experienced misconception on acid-base subject were 66.5% from 4 main concepts studied, namely acid and base concepts (51.15%), pH and pOH concepts and their calculations (79.06%), the concept of acid-base dissociation degree (75.43%), and the concept of acid-base titration and indicator (58.13%). The study also revealed that some students have difficulties in performing mathematical operations using logarithms.

Abstrak: Kemelekan sains dan kemelekan inkuiri adalah dua hal penting yang harus dikuasai secara memadai oleh peserta didik dalam era globalisasi. Telah dilakukan penelitian dengan tujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat kemelekan sains dan kemelekan inkuiri guru-guru mata pelajaran IPA SMP. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas 25 orang guru IPA SMP yang sedang menempuh program S2 pada Program Studi Magister Pendidikan IPA di Universitas Mataram tahun akademik 2012/2013. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan pola pretes-postes dan diberikan perlakuan berupa pelatihan berjenjang dengan total waktu 400 menit (4 kali tatap muka). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kemelekan sains dan inkuiri guru-guru IPA SMP masih tergolong rendah. Dalam pola pelatihan berjenjang seperti ini guru hanya mampu meningkatkan kemelekan sains sebesar 1% dan kemelekan inkuiri sebesar 5%. Mengingat pentingnya peran kemelekan sains dan kemelekan inkuiri bagi peserta didik maka perlu dilakukan upaya sistematis untuk meningkatkan kompetensi profesional para guru khususnya aspek kemelekan sains dan kemelekan inkuiri.Kata kunci: kemelekan, sains, inkuiri Abstract: Science literacy and inquiry literacy are two important aspects of life skills needed by both teachers and students in this globalization era. This research has been undertaken to analyzed science and inquiry literacy of high school science teachers in West Nusa Tenggara Provence. The research subjects consist of 25 teachers who joined the master degree in  the Magister Study Program of Educational Sciences in the University of Mataram during academic year 2012/2013. The research has been designed as one group pretest-postest experiment. The teacher students have been trained for 4 times of lecturer classes which equal to 400 minutes. The results of this research shown that the average scores  of science literacy and inquiry literacy of those student teachers can be categorized as low level (M ≤ 50%). The average scores of science literacy increased only 0,7 % and the inquiry literacy score increased about 5% after the training. Due to the important of these aspects in the context of science, therefore it is strongly recommended to constructs systematic and continuous efforts to help improve the teachers professional competences includes the science literacy and inquiry literacy.Keywords: literacy, sience, inquiry

This research aimed to identify the misconceptions of physics teacher candidates in dynamic electrical materials using EDCT (Electric Dynamic Concept Test) instruments with CRI (Certainty of Response Index). This research included analytical descriptive research with 28 research subjects from Physics Education Departement, FKIP UST Yogyakarta. This research was conducted at the end of the even semester of 2015/2016 academic year. The instrument used in this research was in multiple choice test form with four alternative answers that have been completed with CRI. Item test was about 25 questions. The results of this study indicated that the students who mastered the concept was about 21.43%, the students who did not know the concept was about 21.43%, and the students who experienced misconception was about 57.14%.Keywords : miskonsepsi, dinamic electric, EDCT instrument, CRI.

Self assessment is one form of assessment that can improve student learning outcomes. This research is a descriptive study that aims to describe in detail the achievement of competencies of prospective physics teacher students in analyzing concepts. The population in this study were physics education students and the samples were those who offered physics studies courses with a total of 30 students. Data collection was carried out for two months in a physics material study class. The research data will then be processed descriptively according to the research needs. The results showed that self-assessment was able to improve the ability of students to analyze concepts. This happens because self-assessment gives space to students to assess their abilities; know their strengths and weaknesses in analyzing concepts; find the root of their failure. Besides that model self assessment is a tool for students to communicate with lecturers to find solutions to their failures. Thus it can be concluded that self assessment is able to improve the competency of prospective physics teacher students in analyzing concepts well.

Advanced Earth Physics course is one of the courses discusses all aspects of physics that exist in natural processes occurring on the earth. One of the topics discussed was Landslide Natural Disaster. The purpose of this study is to discuss the use of online media and topography map in Advance earth physics classes to analyse the location of possible landslides. This research was conducted on students who are taking advanced earth physics courses for the even semester in the University of Riau, Physics Education Study Program, and 20182019 academic year. Students were given the concept of a landslide and guidelines for using Google Earth and on how to produce the topography map. Then students were required to do a mini project in terms of using Google Earth and Topography Map and to analyse the possibility of a landslide zone. Subsequently, students were given a questionnaire about understanding the material of the Avalanche that was studied with the help of Google Earth and topography map. The results show that almost all students fully understand and like what they are doing, as evidenced by an average score of 3.78 (scale 4) in terms of Google Earth's utility in studying landslide zones. Thus it can be concluded that the Google Earth media is very well-liked and can provide a deeper understanding to students in learning the concept of Landslide Natural Disasters in Advanced Earth Physics courses.
