This study investigates the influence of financial sector development on economic growth in Nigeria during the period 1982 to 2015. As such, the study obtained annual secondary data from the Central Bank of Nigeria statistical bulletins and World Bank financial database. The empirical model for this study examines growth in savings, growth in exchange rate, growth in government expenditure, growth in stock market capitalization, growth in credit to private sector, growth in gross capital formation, growth in trade openness and growth in broad money on economic growth in Nigeria. The multiple regression output reveals that growth in government expenditure and growth in gross capital formation are statistically significant on economic growth in Nigeria at 1% and 10% respectively under the period under investigation while other regressors in the model prove to be statistically insignificant. VAR test shows that there is considerable short-run causality running from lags of regressors to economic growth in Nigeria except for lag 1 of growth in exchange rate and lag 2 of growth in credit to private sector. The granger causality test reveals the existence of bi-directional causality between financial sector development and economic growth in Nigeria during the period under investigation. Hence, this study supports the ‘feedback hypothesis’ view on finance-growth. Based on these empirical results, this study recommends effective channeling of funds to the private sector and autonomy of the Central Bank of Nigeria in the use of monetary policy tools.

The debate on the effect of government expenditure on economic growth has still happened in relation to classical groups and Keynesians view. The aim of this study confirms the relationship, with the application of the case in Indonesia. Gov-ernment expenditures are aggregated, while economic growth is measured by gross domestic product. With time series design, the secondary data used covers the period of 2004 to 2013. At first, the data were analyzed descriptive-graphics, while the hypothesis testing using t-test. The results obtained indicate that government spending has a positive and significant influence to economic growth. Thus, spend-ing and investment forms by government as a form of fiscal policy must be done with great caution in order to avoid misallocation or inequality in the distribution of inter-sector development, given the importance of its role as a pending national economic growth.

This type of research is descriptive and associative research, namely research that describes the research variable and finds the presence or absence of influence between independent variables and dependent variables. The types of data in this study are secondary data and panel data from 2012-2016 per Province in Indonesia. Data analysis used is descriptive analysis and inductive analysis. In inductive analysis there are several tests, namely: Panel Regression Model, Classical Assumption Test, t Test. The results of this study indicate that (1) Foreign investment (PMA) has a positive and significant effect on the economy in Indonesia, (2) domestic investment (PMDN) has a negative and not significant effect on the economy in Indonesia, (3) the quality of human resources has a positive effect and significant to the economy in Indonesia, (4) the level of labor force participation (TPAK) has a positive and significant effect on the economy in Indonesia. This study primary examines the effects of government infrastructural expenditure on economic development in Nigeria. Secondary data sourced from reported annual spending on selected infrastructure and annual Gross Domestic Products were statistically analyzed. The data treatments used for the secondary data were unit root and co-integration tests using Augmented Dickey–Fuller and Phillip–Perron model. Weighted least square was also used to test the sample of 37-year annual time series using vector error correction model. The data analysis was done with descriptive statistics. Findings from the study revealed that government spending on transport, communication, education and health infrastructure have significant effects on economic growth; spending on agriculture and natural resources infrastructure recorded a significant inverse effect on economic growth in Nigeria. An element of fiscal illusion was observed in the government spending on agriculture and natural resources indicating that government is not contributing as much as the private sector in spending on agriculture and natural resources infrastructure in Nigeria.

Human development is one of the indicators of the success of economic growth. The good quality of human resources goes hand in hand with economic growth, this is because resources as part of the factor of production are the most valuable assets in the economic activities of a country. This study aims to determine and analyze the causality of economic growth towards the quality of human resources. The method used in this study was using the Granger Causality method. Granger Causality Approach is used to measure the strength of the relationship between two or more variables, or it can also be used as a tool to see the direction of the relationship between independent variables and the dependent variable. The variable Human Development Index (HDI) as the dependent variable and per capita income variable as the independent variable. From this study it was concluded that the granger causality test on the proposed research model states that there is no causality relationship between two independent variables and the dependent variable, but significantly the Indonesian economic growth variable has a one-way relationship with the human development index (HDI).Human development is one of the indicators of the success of economic growth. Data analysis used is the data used is descriptive analysis and inductive analysis. In inductive analysis there are several tests, namely: (1) Unit Root Test (2)Cointegration Test (3) Optimal Lag Determination (4) Granger Causality Test (5) PVAR Test.  The results of this study indicate that (1) income inequality Poverty and income inequality have a causality relationship where the probability of poverty to income inequality = 0.0307 and the probability of income inequality against poverty = 0.0166 (2) There is a one-way relationship between poverty and education level where poverty affects the level of education with a probability = 0.0024 while the level of education does not affect poverty with probability = 0.2402 (3) income inequality and education level do not have a one-way or two-way relationship where income inequality does not affect the level of education with probability = 0, 2445 and the level of education also does not affect income inequality with a probability = 0.5248 in the study period. Based on the results of this study, the authors suggest that the government combine policies on income equity and poverty such as the application of progressive taxes and subsidies to basic needs, equitable distribution of education in districts / cities in regencies / cities in West Sumatra. in addition, it is also expected that an increase in the nine economic sectors so that all three issues such as poverty, income inequality and education levels can be overcome.                                                             Keyword: Poverty, Income Inequality, Education Level, PVAR
